Netbinox is the fastest OSGi container that provides a 40% faster startup speed for desktop applications. It achieves this speed by avoiding I/O through caching of class and resource loading. The presentation provides the history of Netbinox, including experiments with OSGi at Sun and Glassfish, and how Netbinox was developed at Oracle to align NetBeans IDE with JDeveloper. It demonstrates Netbinox's faster startup and discusses the technical differences from Equinox, such as using caches for class and resource loading. Netbinox is now used in NetBeans IDE 7.1 and future alignment of NetBeans with JDeveloper is discussed.
