1. desert: an ecosystem that is very dry.
2. Grassland: an area of land that is generally
hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
3. Forest: an ecosystem in which many trees
grow.
3. Desert Ecosystem
Deserts are very dry ecosystems. Plants and
animals in the desert can survive with very little
water.
Temperatures in some deserts rise very high by
day. Most animals find shady places to sleep and
come out only after sunset.
5. Grassland Ecosystem
They get more rain and snow than deserts do but less
than most other ecosystems.
Food crops grow well in grassland ecosystems. The
main plant in a grassland ecosystem is the grass.
9. Forest ecosystem
There are different kinds of forest. A tropical rain forest
grows where it is hot and wet all year.
Most of the trees in a decidious forest lose their leaves in
the fall. These forest grow where
it is warm in summer and cold in winter.
Evergreen trees grow in a coniferous
forest. These forest have cool summer
and cold winters.
