A consistent UI leaves an overall impression on user’s psychology, aesthetics and taste. Human–computer interaction (HCI) is the study of how humans interact with computer systems. Many disciplines contribute to HCI, including computer science, psychology, ergonomics, engineering, and graphic design. HCI is a broad term that covers all aspects of the way in which people interact with computers. In their daily lives, people are coming into contact with an increasing number of computer-based technologies. Some of these computer systems, such as personal computers, we use directly. We come into contact with other systems less directly — for example, we have all seen cashiers use laser scanners and digital cash registers when we shop. We have taken the same but in extensible line and made more solid justified by linking with other scientific pillars and concluded some of the best holistic base work for future innovations. It is done by inspecting various theories of Colour, Shape, Wave, Fonts, Design language and other miscellaneous theories in detail.

In the last decade, new classes of devices for accessing information have emerged along with increased connectivity. In parallel to the proliferation of these devices, new interaction styles have been explored. One major problem is the restrictive human machine interface like gloves, magnetic trackers, and head mounted displays. Such interfaces with excessive connections are hampering the interactivity. This presentation introduces a method to develop a robust computer vision module to capture and recognise the human gestures using a regular video camera and use the full potential of these gestures in a user friendly graphical environment.

Abstract Human–computer interaction is a discipline concerned with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems for human use. The field formally emerged out of computer science, cognitive psychology and industrial design through the 1960s, formulating guidelines for the development of interactive computer systems highlighting usability concerns for improved interfaces. Computing devices are becoming more prevalent and integrated into both our social and work spaces.HCI therefore plays an important role in ensuring that computer systems are not only functional but also respect the needs and capabilities of the humans that use them. HCI encompasses not only ease of use but also new interaction techniques. It involves input and output devices and the interaction techniques that use them; presentation of information, control and monitoring of computer’s actions and the processes that developers follow when creating interfaces. In this seminar, emphasis is laid on the movement of a user’s eyes which can provide a convenient, natural, and high-bandwidth source of additional user input. Some of the human factors and technical considerations that arise in trying to use eye movements as an input medium and the first eye movement-based interaction techniques are discussed in this section. PRINCIPLE OF HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION * INTRODUCTION TO HCI * OUTLINEIntroductionWhat is HCI?The HCI ChallengeHCI is Not aboutHCI is aboutThe goals of HCIWhat is Usability? Why is usability important? Why HCI is Important in the Context of WWW?It is not Simple to Make Good User InterfacesExamples of good and bad design * * INTRODUCTION Interacting with technology has become an essential part of everyday life for the majority of people. The average user of a computer system is now less likely to understand the technology. Since, there are different types of technology they have to use. People are busy and may spend little or no time actually learning a new system. * INTRODUCTION..(CONT.) Therefore, computer systems should be easy to use, easy to learn, and with no errors. To design and develop of such a system is a major concern of HCI * WHAT IS HCI?Human-computer interaction (HCI): “is a discipline concerned with the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive systems for human use and with study of major phenomena surrounding them.” (ACM SIGCHI, 1992, p. 6) WHAT IS HCI?HCI (human-computer interaction) is the study of interaction between people (users) and computers. Interaction between users and computers occurs at the user interface The golden principle in HCI is that “people should come first”. * WHAT ..(CONT.) HCI consists of three parts:Human: could be an individual user or a group of users.Computer: could be any technology ranging from the general desktop computer to a large scale computer system.Interaction: any direct or indirect communication between a human and computer. * WHAT ..(CONT.)HCI concentrates on the study of human factors The study of human factors started during the Second World War by US army. Usability was born because of badly designed arms that caused “friendly fire” during war. * THE HCI CHALLENGE * HCI IS NOT ABOUTMaking the interface look pretty Only about desktop computers (and that goes for computing as well!) Something that would be nice to do but usually there’s no time for it * HCI IS ABOUTUnderstanding the usersUnderstanding users tasksUnderstanding the surrounding environmentGUI requirements gathering and analysisDesign prototypeEvaluate the system * THE GOALS OF HCIThe goal of HCI “is to develop or improve the safety, utility, effectiveness, efficiency and usability of system that include computers.” (Interacting with computers, 1989, p3) * THE GOALS OF HCIThe goals of HCI are to produce usable and safe systems, as well as functional systems. In order to fulfill that, developers must attempt to: Understand how people use technology Building suitable systems Achieve efficient, effective, and safe interaction Put people first People needs, capabilities and preferences should come first. People should not have to change the way that they use a system. Instead, the system should be designed to match their requirements * WH.

1. Emergence of Software Engineering In the software industry, we have seen the complexity of computer-based systems increase dramatically over the past decades along with advances in technology. This new technology has increased the demand for computer-based systems to control many infrastructures with software. As a result, designing and building cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality software has become the focus of software engineering in the computer industry. In the past the processes used for designing and developing software were very informal, which contributed to the rise in development and maintenance costs. The results of ad hoc development processes contributed to a higher percentage of unreliable and lesser quality products entering the marketplace. Many accidents resulted from failures in computer-based systems with hardware devices that were controlled with software. At the time, the industry was considered to be in a crisis state, which then led to the emergence of new practices and methods in software engineering. Technological advances have had a big impact on the complexity level required in software systems. The emergence of new communication protocols, hardware devices, and graphical user interface components have placed a greater demand on software engineers to design quality, reliable, and safe software. A Brief History of Software Engineering In the 1950s and the early 1960s, the various engineering disciplines were beginning to analyze how aspects of the engineering field could be applied to methods used in developing software products. As computing power evolved over the decades, the demand increased along with the complexity of the problems that needed to be addressed in the design of software. The term software engineering was introduced in 1968 at the first international software engineering conference, held by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Science Committee (Mahoney 2004). Many practitioners believe this is the milestone that marked the emergence of the software engineering discipline. Software was developed to control critical hardware devices in the mid- to late-1960s and early 1970s. During this time, cases emerged that involved operational errors and accidents resulting in the loss of human lives and damage to property. Defects in software were uncovered, which heightened public awareness to the need for better quality and reliability of software. The escalating cost of building quality and reliable software was on the rise in the computer industry and the demand for skilled programmers could not be met. The state of software development was viewed by practitioners as being in a "crisis" state and was commonly referred to as the software crisis. In response to the software crisis, researchers and practitioners have been trying to develop a set of methodologies, processes, and tools as the "silver bullet" for building software. The combination of these methodologies, processes, and tools i ...

Software development process presents various types of models with their corresponding phases required to be accordingly followed in delivery of quality products and projects. Despite the various expertise and skills of systems analysts, designers, and programmers, systems failure is inevitable when a suitable development process model is not followed. This paper focuses on the Iterative and Incremental Development (IID)model and justified its role in the analysis and design software systems. The paper adopted the qualitative research approach that justified and harnessed the relevance of IID in the context of systems analysis and design using the Vocational Career Information System (VCIS) as a case study. The paper viewed the IID as a change-driven software development process model. The results showed some system specification, functional specification of system and design specifications that can be used in implementing the VCIS using the IID model. Thus, the paper concluded that in systems analysis and design, it is imperative to consider a suitable development process that reflects the engineering mind-set, with heavy emphasis on good analysis and design for quality assurance.

13 Running Head: HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERFACE Human-Computer Interface Student Name: Instructor Name: Course: Date: Introduction Most web developers create design proposals without further input from the intended group and primarily focus on meeting the standards of the contract. Many likely think that consumers also don't have the technological intellect to know such a dynamic area that is undoubtedly an integral of the systems development life cycle (Bunnell & Weistroffer, 2017). Some of that may be real, but on the other side, customers know precisely what they deserve, and internet developers can't look down upon everything (Scane, 2002). It is quite impossible to develop a completely functional platform even for the most accomplished software engineers in their initial effort. That's since there's a little like a typical operator, each client is unique, so it's quite difficult to state what's better for everyone. But if we are to establish a good platform, we will have to communicate as well as connect via our customers (Scane, 2002). Another most critical thing everyone should do is to negotiate with potential buyers while we begin schematic design since the very beginning. In this case, we will prevent future difficulties and technical problems, which might cost us some more time throughout the delayed design phase. While everyone else has just said, we might, in reality, concentrate on just the final step throughout this article, it will be when our platform is built and operating. It is still necessary to welcome customers as well as give them information, but we really want to have anything more accessible to reach as many groups as required, that means we're going to be using a resource that gives everybody an overview about what users are doing on the website (Scane, 2002). Before they continue on, we need to make another interesting side note. Some phrases across the whole entire report carry the same weight. The latter mainly involves phrases such as customers, guests, or employees; those kinds of people are those who use a home page. Nonetheless, a language consumer may mean that the person that intercepts a software application can gather the information collected, i.e., an operator, in a particular setting. Usability There are many web page developers out there who are doing everything possible to see to it that the best online platforms are made. The initiative of creating a UI is highly prioritized in many aspects. The consistency, as well as the ease of use, is the highest priority ever. However, forming a UI is highly regarded since there are many purposes that determine why business begins. I understand that there are many variables that need to be discussed in the long run to see to it that every person benefits in the long term (Scane, 2002). I believe that the strategies that most of the developers’ set are factors of the prevailing circumstances in the long term. Usability thus refers to an approach .

The presentation explores the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) from its inception to its current status in the modern world. The term "artificial intelligence" was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 to describe efforts to develop computer programs capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. This concept was first introduced at a conference held at Dartmouth College, where programs demonstrated capabilities such as playing chess, proving theorems, and interpreting texts. In the early stages, Alan Turing contributed to the field by defining intelligence as the ability of a being to respond to certain questions intelligently, proposing what is now known as the Turing Test to evaluate the presence of intelligent behavior in machines. As the decades progressed, AI evolved significantly. The 1980s focused on machine learning, teaching computers to learn from data, leading to the development of models that could improve their performance based on their experiences. The 1990s and 2000s saw further advances in algorithms and computational power, which allowed for more sophisticated data analysis techniques, including data mining. By the 2010s, the proliferation of big data and the refinement of deep learning techniques enabled AI to become mainstream. Notable milestones included the success of Google's AlphaGo and advancements in autonomous vehicles by companies like Tesla and Waymo. A major theme of the presentation is the application of generative AI, which has been used for tasks such as natural language text generation, translation, and question answering. Generative AI uses large datasets to train models that can then produce new, coherent pieces of text or other media. The presentation also discusses the ethical implications and the need for regulation in AI, highlighting issues such as privacy, bias, and the potential for misuse. These concerns have prompted calls for comprehensive regulations to ensure the safe and equitable use of AI technologies. Artificial intelligence has also played a significant role in healthcare, particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it was used in drug discovery, vaccine development, and analyzing the spread of the virus. The capabilities of AI in healthcare are vast, ranging from medical diagnostics to personalized medicine, demonstrating the technology's potential to revolutionize fields beyond just technical or consumer applications. In conclusion, AI continues to be a rapidly evolving field with significant implications for various aspects of society. The development from theoretical concepts to real-world applications illustrates both the potential benefits and the challenges that come with integrating advanced technologies into everyday life. The ongoing discussion about AI ethics and regulation underscores the importance of managing these technologies responsibly to maximize their their benefits while minimizing potential harms.
