Culture Cube Research I am currently having students in the sixth grade class at Superior Middle School access Encyclopedia Britannica through their “student resources” link on the Superior School District website: www.superior.k12.wi.us/students_resources.php.
In order to increase my competence for the Content and Curriculum standard, my goal is to further investigate how to best use Learning-Focused Strategies in the classroom.    The Learning-Focused Notebook (2005) by Dr. Max Thompson and Dr. Julia Thompson provides tools for multiple representations and explanations of disciplinary concepts.  I have found that using such tools as the Frayer Model and other organizational graphic organizers have effective results regarding student learning.   Reflection on the Standard
