  3. 3. Fragment <ul><li>A fragment is a group of words that does NOT express a complete thought. </li></ul><ul><li>Ex: Around the corner. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>There are 4 types of sentences. </li></ul><ul><li>Declarative </li></ul><ul><li>Exclamatory </li></ul><ul><li>Interrogative </li></ul><ul><li>Imperative </li></ul>
  5. 5. Declarative <ul><li>A declarative sentence is a sentence that makes a statement. </li></ul><ul><li>Ex. Jan is a student. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Exclamatory <ul><li>An exclamatory sentence is a sentence that is said with strong feeling or emotions. (always ends with an exclamation mark) </li></ul><ul><li>Ex. What a shame! </li></ul>
  7. 7. Interrogative <ul><li>An interrogative sentence is a sentence that ask a question and always end with a question mark. </li></ul><ul><li>Ex. What is your name? </li></ul>
