in Mind
! Habit 2 is based on imagination--the ability to envision
in your mind what you want
! the principle that all things are created twice applies-
There is a mental creation (first) , and a physical
creation (second).
! It's about connecting with your own uniqueness and
then defining the personal, moral, and ethical
guidelines within which you can most happily express
and fulfill yourself
! This habit states- it's all right to say no when necessary
and then focus on your highest priorities

! Habit 3 is about life management --your purpose, values, roles,
and priorities
! This habit is where Habits 1 and 2 come together.
! It deals with many a question from the field of time management.
! To put first things first, you are organizing and managing time and
events according to the personal priorities you established in
Habit 2.
! It tells us to deal with impotant things first. Important things may
not be urgent thus if we don’t know whats important we generally
give impotance to urgent things first.

then be understood
! This habit talks about communication and how we all are missing
a very vital aspect of communication which is listening.
! We all listen autobiographically- we only imbibe things relevant to
us and space out the rest
! Thus we tend to respond in one of four ways:
! Evaluating:-You judge and then either agree or disagree.
! Probing:-you ask questions from your own frame of reference.
! Advising: You give counsel, advice, and solutions to problems.
! Interpreting: You analyze others' motives and behaviors based on
your own experiences.

! Listen with your eyes, heart, and ears. – listening with
your ears isn’t good enough, because only 7 percent of
communication comes from the words we use. The rest
comes from body language (53%) and the tone and
feeling reflected in our voice (40%). To hear what other
people are really saying, you need to listen to what they
are not saying.
! Stand in their shoes.
! Practice mirroring. – Reflect. Repeat back to the
person what they just said. Put it in your own words.
This lets the person know you understand what they
are saying without judging or giving advice.

! It's a process in which people bring all their personal
experience and expertise to the table.
