1. Non-destructive Tests (NDT) for
inspection of Materials

3.  Internal and surface flaws which may lead to premature failure can
be detected.
 In addition, NDTs are used as a means of quality control for
manufacturing processes.
 Furthermore, some testing methods must be conducted in a
laboratory setting; others may be adapted for use in the field.
 One important example of the use of NDT is for the detection of
cracks and leaks in the walls of oil pipelines in remote areas.
Ultrasonic analysis may be utilized.

4. There are NDT application at almost any stage in
the production or life cycle of a component.
