Motivation theory of individual employees.
Theory X
 Sigmund Freud is the author of Theory X. Theory X characterizes
employee which is:
• Avoid work
• No ambition
• No initiative
• Do not take responsibility
• Needs security
 And to make them work, the management has to do the following:
• Reward
• Coerce
• intimidate
• punish
Theory Y
Douglas McGregor is the authors of Theory
Y.McGregor’s theory of people are given:
• Want to learn
• Work is natural activity
• Have self discipline
• Develop themselves
Theory Z
Theory Z
Abraham Maslow Believes that good qualities
are inherent in people, at least at birth; although
later on they are gradually lost.
FIVE BASIC HUMAN NEEDS
• self-actualizing Needs
• Esteem needs
• love needs
• safety needs
• physiological needs
Herzberg’s Theory
The Hygiene theory is the minimum that every employee
requires for not being dissatisfied. Without the above, the
employee will get dissatisfied.
Hygiene Factors:
• The company
• Its policies and its administration
• The kind of Supervision which people receive while on
the job.
• Working Conditions
• Interpersonal relations
• Salary
• Status
• Security
Motivation
Motivation Factors:
• Achievement
• Recognition for achievement
• interest in the task
• Responsibility for enlarged tasks
• Growth and advancement to higher level tasks
Motivation: Techniques
The team helps the employees to rise to the level of
the other members under the careful eye of the
management. Nevertheless, it is very important to
have a systematic approach to build and develop
individuals.
TEAMWORK
Why Teams?
Every organization start with one person or few people,
one of them being the entrepreneur or the promoter.
Teams are formed to fulfill the objectives. It is part of
the regular organizational structure of the organization.
The team coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day
activities of the team.
It may be called a manager, supervisor, team leader,
head, team coordinate, etc.
Is is responsible for the output of his team while each
member of the team is responsible for the work assigned.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS
Communications is a Three Way Process
• To one, employee is working for-
supervisors/manager.
• To the persons working for him-
subordinate/junior employee
• To the persons one works with, the peers,
counterparts, customers and supplier (both
internal and external).

  • 6. Motivation Motivation Factors: • Achievement • Recognition for achievement • interest in the task • Responsibility for enlarged tasks • Growth and advancement to higher level tasks Motivation: Techniques The team helps the employees to rise to the level of the other members under the careful eye of the management. Nevertheless, it is very important to have a systematic approach to build and develop individuals.
  • 7. TEAMWORK Why Teams? Every organization start with one person or few people, one of them being the entrepreneur or the promoter. Teams are formed to fulfill the objectives. It is part of the regular organizational structure of the organization. The team coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team. It may be called a manager, supervisor, team leader, head, team coordinate, etc. Is is responsible for the output of his team while each member of the team is responsible for the work assigned.
  • 8. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS Communications is a Three Way Process • To one, employee is working for- supervisors/manager. • To the persons working for him- subordinate/junior employee • To the persons one works with, the peers, counterparts, customers and supplier (both internal and external).
