To Whom May Concern:
Ms. Marti Roland has been an integral part of the Paterson Public Schools District in the
capacity of both a high school teacher within Special Education and a Saturday School
Enrichment teacher. Her contributions to the growth and development of students within the
district have been demonstrated through her hard work, care, and understanding of the
students she has serviced, and the professional relationships established with her colleagues.
Ms. Roland has served in various capacities which include, but are not limited to managing co-
curricula activities with students. Through these activities, students are reflective on not
themselves, but the community that surrounds them. As a model teacher, during the Saturday
Enrichment Program, Ms. Roland worked with members of the instructional team. She
demonstrated a great balance between supporting the team’s creativity and encouraging
teachers to work at their best levels. Ms. Roland is well versed in the content area of science
and uses her knowledge in an interactive manner to keep students engaged and focused on the
essential content knowledge.
There are many competent and dedicated leaders in education. There are also leaders who,
because of their commitment to education and students, must be considered outstanding. Ms.
Roland is outstanding, exceptionally thorough, organized and takes pride in the work she
produces. She is conscientious and self-motivated and will be an asset to any team.
Respectfully,
Annalesa Williams-Barker
