7. QUETZAL
• The Quetzal is for many people the most beautiful bird
in the worl. It lives in the rainforests of high mountains
from South of Mexico to Pan
ama.
• Quetzal is special because it´s very beautyful. It´s also a
great hunter and it´s very quiet. There are a lot of
myths about it.
• Females are about 35 cmts long and males about 60
cmts. Males have got a very long tail, about 1m. Long.
They are so colourful and sometimes their colours can
change.
• The quetzal eats fruit, small insects, small frogs, lizards
and snails.
• They are endangered because sometimes people hunt
them. Their habitat is disappearing too because
humans are cutting down the rain forest.
9. The Koala
The koala is from Australia.
The koala’s body is 76 cm long, it’s plump
and its colour is grey and white. This
animal is so quiet.
The koala for 20 hours a day, to save
energy. This animal is usually in the
trees, they are very good climbers. It eats
eucalyptus.
When a koala is born it’s got only the size
of a jelly bean. Newborn koalas are called
joey.
11. THE BALD EAGLE
• The bald eagle is a raptor(bird of prey) that
lives in North American forests, swamps,
wetlands, lakes, and rivers. It also roams most
of Canada, Alaska, much of the contiguous
United States, and Northern Mexico. A bald
eagle's white head may make it look bald, but
it isn’t.
13. THE IBERIAN LYNX
• The Iberian lynx is from Spain and it is a very
interesting animal. But it is endangered
because its habitat is disappearing.
• It usually lives in the forests and mountains of
Andalucia. The Iberian Lynx is special because
it is the most endangered feline in the world.
It has sharp pointed ears, short tail and black
and brown hair. He can climb the trees but he
can‘t swim very well. He eats small mammals
and another smalls animals, he is a very good
hunter.
