About the basics you need to understand

In using FreshBooks

Part 1, will be the overview about FreshBooks

And the Invoicing, Expense Tracking and Time Tracking features

Part 2 will focus about the Reports feature

Let’s get started!

What is FreshBooks?

What can you get from using FreshBooks?

Let’s see how FreshBookscan make your life easier

For this tutorial, we will just use the trial version

First, we need to register

Open your browser

On the web address bar

Type: www.freshbooks.com

Press Enter

You will be directed to FreshBookswebsite

Let’s enter the details

Click the GreenButton

Try it Free for 30 Days

You will be directed to set up your account

Fill the required details

Click the Greenbutton “Next”

Then complete the details

Click the Greenbutton

You can now continue with your account

From here, we can use FreshBookstools…

…to create and send Invoice

…to track Expenses

…to track Time

… and to create Reports

First, let’s try creating an Invoice

Click on the Invoices Tab

Then click the New Invoice button

As you are newly registered to FreshBooks…

…you will be required to provide

…other business information

Click Next

Choose one

Continue on to your invoice!

But first, you have to create a new client

Fill the details needed

Click Save Client

You can now fill the invoice details

You can customize your invoice

When you’re done, you may…

…save it as draft, send by email or by snail mail

Let’s choose to save it as draft for now

Click Save as Draft

You can preview the Invoice

Download a PDF copy

And send it when you’re ready

You’re Invoice looks like this:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You now have your first invoice

Next part is how to track your Expenses

Click the Expense tab

Click New Expense

Fill in the details

Then click Add Expense

You will see the list of your Expenses

And you can continue adding more of your expenses

You can use the other functions

That’s how you use the Expense Tracking feature

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We can now proceed to the Time Tracking feature

Click the Time Tracking Tab

And you will see the time sheet

The default is a Monthly Timesheet

You are required to put a Project and a Task

Create a New Project first

Click here

Choose [new project]

You will be asked for confirmation

Just click OK

Fill in the details

When done, click Save

You will be notified about the project you created

You can now start logging hours

You will be directed back to the Timesheet

Click Start Timer

The timer will appear

Choose the Project and Task

Start your timer

You may also add a note to your time

Then Log Hours

You can see your Time Log in the calendar

And on the summary

And that’s it!
