How do you get your customers use online banking? This was the question that the Spanish BBVA bank faced. In 2011/12 only 25% of BBVA’s customers used online banking. The BBVA innovation team came up with the idea of gamifying their website to reward customers for doing transactions online, watching videos, and interacting with their friends on social media sites. When a sequence of specific operations is completed, the players receive prizes for their achievements. Prizes included tickets for the Spanish soccer league, travels to the US with tickets for the NBA, or iPads.
From the Commonwealth Bank in Australia come two games: Coinland and Investorville. While Coinland is similar to Bamzonia aiming to raise financial literacy of children, Investorville is aimed at adults. This online simulator let players try their hand at property investing without risking your their equity. By choosing an investor-profile (first time investor, more experienced), players learn about investment strategies, rental returns, and interest rates. Working with the company RP Data that maintains residential property information, the bank took a snapshot of every suburb in the Australian housing market and worked with economists to create financial models of the market.
The site had 56,600 visitors, 13,660 registrants and 34 home loan applications in the first six weeks. According to a report from InvestorDaily in September 2012, the project costs for Investorville were around 400,000 Australian Dollars and the game generated about 600 loans. https://coinland.com.au/

€conomia is a serious game that teaches monetary policy.
Description
The games goal is to set interest rates in order to keep annual inflation just under 2% over a period of eight years. An in-game dashboard lets players test their theories against projections for inflation, production and money growth. Unpredictable economic shocks, a fickle press and a squabbling board that often gives players contradictory advice make for a surprisingly realistic simulation of life as a EU central banker.
The New York Times offered their readers a budget simulator as well. By listing all spending players can reduce the budget deficit and understand the underlying dynamics and long-term effects of creating a balanced budget.

TrueOffice is a company providing gamified solutions for compliance training.
Companies are legally required to (regularly) train employees on topics such as security, fraud, sexual harrassment etc. and stay compliant with the law. As these trainings often include a lot of legal text and are considered by the employees as not taking time awy from their other tasks, employees are bored by them and reluctant to take them.
By adding gamification design elements such as mystery and narrative to the training, the boring task suddenly into an interesting one.

MoneyIsland is an online money management game for children.
Details
Created by a former Washington, D.C., Teacher of the Year, MoneyIsland is an online money management game that teaches kids how to make the most of their financial future. By providing MoneyIsland to account holders, local schools, and non-profit organizations, players not only fulfill responsibilities of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), but also help build a better future for America's youth.
When kids play MoneyIsland, they enter a virtual world that not only makes learning fun, but also tracks and encourages their progress. As they go on quests to fantastic destinations like the Eiffel Tower and Atlantis, they learn real-life principles of financial responsibility. Once they join, kids may receive a real passport with colorful stickers they can use to "stamp" their progress through the MoneyIsland world. The stickers and fill-in-the-blanks reinforce the images, characters, and lessons learned in the game.
