 Objectives :

(1) To understand the meaning of Entrepreneur’s Social
Responsibility (ESR).
(2) To know how the impact of Entrepreneur’s Social Responsibility
(ESR) on the society.
(3) To understand the role of young Entrepreneurs in serving the
society.
(4) To suggest certain areas where Entrepreneur’s social
responsibility can be concentrated.
(5) To highlight the how ESR helps the society.
(6) To formulate few steps to make ESR work.

Entrepreneur’s Social Responsibility Introduction
 It combines the entrepreneurship with a mission to serve the

society
 Entrepreneurship is not only limited to starting business for profit

but also should combine notions of
innovation, changes, opportunities and resources along with social
responsibility.
 this evolution of ESR has to be considered as a new

entrepreneurial culture among youth and it has to be seen in a
different and new dimension
 ESR ensures the better living and improving communities through

their social activities; and providing amenities to the poor and the
entrepreneurs can develop better impact social interventions to lift

Does ESR benefit the Society?
 entrepreneurs create value by shifting the resources of the
society from lower to higher yields
 Entrepreneurs practice should be aimed at a sound business

practices but should bring a high integrity of their business with
that of the society and its needs
 An entrepreneur should look beyond the bottom line of monetary

benefit and should have a higher sense of responsibility
 Entrepreneurs are to be more ambitious by trying to tackle the

major issues in the society which requires an immediate attention
and bring about changes in the society.

Involve Employees and Customers
Implementation of ESR
 Set goals:
 What do you want to achieve?

 What do you want your business to achieve?
 Do you want really serve the society?
 Enhance your business’s image?
 Decide for what cause you want to be associated with for?
 Considering all the option: children the environment, senior

citizens, homeless people, people with disabilities – this list goes
on. You might want to consider a cause that fits in with your
product or service.
Implementation of ESR
 Choose a non-profit or other organization as partner:
 Find the group, and make sure it’s sound, geographically

convenient and willing to cooperate with you in developing a
developing a partnership.
 Chart a program and indicate to the partner:
 Chart out what you plan to accomplish, also include indicators

that will measure the program’s success in tangible terms.
 Make your customers and employees involved:
 Get employees involved from the beginning; tell your customers

that you are doing something good. Get customers involved
too, by asking them to buy your products and certain margin
would go to the needy. Make it easy for the customers to do

Entrepreneurs can find non profit pharmaceutical company
that works to ensure that the poor should be access to
important drugs for some diseases which kills people who do
not have the ability to pay for.



Many young people loose sight during the productive years.
This can be seen as an emergency issue and the
entrepreneurs can help this section of people.



Entrepreneurs can look into the area of homeless shelter and
can join hands with NGOs help them in this issue.



Entrepreneurs can help in making arrangement for visiting
medical specialist volunteers for health checkup and also
provide training to local people regarding first aids.

Need for ESR to the Society Does ESR benefit the Society?  entrepreneurs create value by shifting the resources of the society from lower to higher yields  Entrepreneurs practice should be aimed at a sound business practices but should bring a high integrity of their business with that of the society and its needs  An entrepreneur should look beyond the bottom line of monetary benefit and should have a higher sense of responsibility  Entrepreneurs are to be more ambitious by trying to tackle the major issues in the society which requires an immediate attention and bring about changes in the society.

Implementation of ESR  Set goals:  What do you want to achieve?  What do you want your business to achieve?  Do you want really serve the society?  Enhance your business’s image?  Decide for what cause you want to be associated with for?  Considering all the option: children the environment, senior citizens, homeless people, people with disabilities – this list goes on. You might want to consider a cause that fits in with your product or service.

Implementation of ESR  Choose a non-profit or other organization as partner:  Find the group, and make sure it’s sound, geographically convenient and willing to cooperate with you in developing a developing a partnership.  Chart a program and indicate to the partner:  Chart out what you plan to accomplish, also include indicators that will measure the program’s success in tangible terms.  Make your customers and employees involved:  Get employees involved from the beginning; tell your customers that you are doing something good. Get customers involved too, by asking them to buy your products and certain margin would go to the needy. Make it easy for the customers to do

Few Areas for ESR’s  Entrepreneurs can find non profit pharmaceutical company that works to ensure that the poor should be access to important drugs for some diseases which kills people who do not have the ability to pay for.  Many young people loose sight during the productive years. This can be seen as an emergency issue and the entrepreneurs can help this section of people.  Entrepreneurs can look into the area of homeless shelter and can join hands with NGOs help them in this issue.  Entrepreneurs can help in making arrangement for visiting medical specialist volunteers for health checkup and also provide training to local people regarding first aids.
