Target Audience Survey Analysis
My target audience for my horror trailer,
magazine cover and film poster is females aged
16-24. However, although I aimed my target
audience predominantly at females, I did get
some males to answer the questions to allow
me to distinguish the difference between what
boys like to see and what girls like to see. This
will ensure that I include everything that I need
to do the meet the females needs and what they
look for when promoting a film. In addition to
this, I feel that this will benefit me because I am
a female and this will allow me to have a better
understanding of what they are looking for and
will allow me to do everything I can to attract
them to see the film. This also allows me to give
reasons for why I included certain aspects of the
magazine in and left some things out etc-
because it is what the target audience want to
see. 30 of the people that took my survey were
female and I will therefore be focusing on their
answers throughout the survey.
Target Audience Survey Analysis
The target audience age for my promotional campaign
is 16-24 and therefore, I only asked people between the
ages of 16-24 because only their information and
feedback is going to be useful when creating my film
poster, magazine and trailer. There was no point in
asking anyone younger or older than this because there
feedback would not be useful to me. This is also
important because it is such a big age range and they
will all have different wants and needs. It is important
that I meet all of the TA needs to encourage them to see
the film because he promotion of a film is effectively
what makes a person want to see a film. From doing
this, I can see that 26 of the people who took my survey
were between the ages of 16/17. 6 people were
between the ages of 20 and 22 and 2 people were
between 23-26.
Target Audience Survey Analysis
The previous question that I asked before
this question was whether or not they liked
to watch horror movies. 50% of the people
that answered my survey said yes and 50%
said no. This follow up question made it
easier for me to understand why they did or
didn't like to watch horror movies. This will
help me to improve aspects of a horror film
that people don't like as much to try and
get them to like the horror movie. In
addition to this it also allows me to keep to
the codes and conventions of what people
do enjoy about horror films and I will be
able to include some of these things in my
horror trailer. For example, "too tense to
enjoy" will allow me to do some more
research into horror films so that I can still
make the horror film tense and scary but
not too tense so that the audience can
enjoy watching the film.

It was important that I asked this
question because the whole point of a
promotional campaign is to
encourage the target audience to go
and see the film. In order for me to
successfully do this. I need to know
what aspects of the trailer make the
audience want to see the film. Tense
music and parts that make the
audience jump got the highest
number of votes. I therefore now
know that I need to include a variety
of tense music and parts that make
the audience jump in my trailer. This
is based on what they have seen from
other films and horror film trailers,
which means that by doing this, I am
following the codes and conventions
of all horror films.
Target Audience Survey Analysis
I asked this because some film trailers
sometimes only use music throughout
the trailer and no narrative. I do plan to
use both but it was important that I
asked the target audience because they
are essentially the ones that the
promotional campaign is aimed at. If
100% so people who took the survey
said that they only like music, then I
would be less likely to include narrative
in my trailer because that it what the
target audience want! However, 69% of
people who took my survey said that
they like to see both music and
narrative and music in a film trailer and
I will include both in my horror film
trailer.

I asked this so that I can get inspiration
from these film trailers when creating
my own film trailer. If I know what
other horror trailers my target
audience have seen and like, it allows
me to analyse these and look at these
to see what I can include in mine to
ensure that they also enjoy it. A lot of
the people who took the survey said
that they liked the orphan trailer, which
I also agree with and have analysed in
my blog. This is good because it means
I can look at the orphan trailer and see
what is good about it. This will allow
me to improve aspects of my own
trailer, whether that be editing, sound
or lighting, watching these trailers will
allow me to do this.
Target Audience Survey Analysis
From looking at the results trim this
question, I can see that 76% of my target
audience believe that the main image is
the most important aspect of the poster
as it is spent attracts them to the poster. I
agree with this because the main image
is what catches the readers eye and
therefore, it needs to stand out and grab
their attention. If the page is just filled
with too much text, they aren't going to
read it. The main image needs to be the
biggest aspect of the film poster and is
conventionally placed in the middle of the
film poster.

include more than just a a
main image on the cover
to attract the audience.
Too much text and not
enough images can turn
the audience away from
the magazine as it can
look too boring.

This analysis will help me when
coming to decide on a suitable price
for my magazine that will also suit
my target audience. When deciding
a price I need to take into
consideration my target audience
to ensure that the price is
affordable for them. If my target
audience is age 13-12, it wouldn't
be reasonable to set a very high
price as they don't have much of an
income so rely on adults. Whereas,
my target audience is between the
ages of 16-24, I can make the price
of my magazine a little bit higher as
they have more of an income.

  • 10. Target Audience Survey Analysis This analysis will help me when coming to decide on a suitable price for my magazine that will also suit my target audience. When deciding a price I need to take into consideration my target audience to ensure that the price is affordable for them. If my target audience is age 13-12, it wouldn't be reasonable to set a very high price as they don't have much of an income so rely on adults. Whereas, my target audience is between the ages of 16-24, I can make the price of my magazine a little bit higher as they have more of an income.
