. “Like the modernists, I believe in the simplici-
ty and clarity of form, the idea of form following
function, and further, form implying function, as
well as the minimal and true use of material, detail
and geometric forms... I practice the idea of com-
munication through architecture by exploring new
means of designing buildings and reintroducing
color and symbolism. This architectural notion
is represented in the form and materiality of my
Confetti Tower.”

.A question I have: I understand the material and
color change, because it feels as though it works
with the space in a way that the wood wouldn’t
have worked indoors, but why the added negative
space and smoothed arch?

“I wanted to create a structure that would embody
the welcoming representation of an entrance that
establishes symbolic meaning and iconic form. I
used a rain cloud as a basis for the design. The con-
tinuous rain drops become long legs that give sup-
port to the cloud form.”
