the streets, in all mega cities of India
3% of India’s children are intellectually impaired
37% of literate & 51% of illiterate girls get married
before they reach18 years of age
Two out of every three children face abuse, of at least one kind
Children are in Danger
There are an estimated 2 million child prostitutes
between the ages of 5 and 15 years (80% of these found in five metros)
in India
500,000 children are forced into sex trade every year
According to the ILO, there are about 10 million10 million
bonded laborers, children; earning Rs3/ per day
for more than 12 hours of work
New Delhi, our nation’s capital, has a child
abuse rate of over 83%
