4. Teacher's Day is celebrated to show our
gratitude, love and recognition of the hard work
they put in to mould us.
The Indian scriptures says about the four
entities Mata, Pita, Guru and Devam (Mother,
Father, Teacher and God), where the position of
the god is next to the teacher.
It is impossible to think our life without
teachers because in every stage of our life, a
person will be there to guide us, teach us and
encourage us.
5. Origin
The birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan
came to be celebrated as Teacher's Day and some
of his students and friends requested him to allow
them to celebrate his birthday but he said,
"instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it
would be my proud privilege if September 5th is
observed as Teacher's day". So, since 1962
september 5th is Dr. Radhakrishnan's Birthday is
celebrated as teachers day in india.
6. Celebrations
Schools celebrate teachers day with more
programs and fun activities. Students will dress
like their teachers and take lessons, arrange
games, cultural activities, food festivals and they
will present surprise gifts, flowers too.
It is an equally special day for teachers, as
they get to know how much they are liked by
their students. Elders will call their teachers on
this day or will send thanking messages or will
