Lesson Plan in Science III
III- Cherry
February 19, 2016
I. Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, the pupils will be able to:
a) enumerate the objects seen in the sky during day and night;
b) describe the objects seen in the sky and;
c) value the importance in taking good care of our environment.
II. Subject Matter:
a. Reference: www.universetoday.com
Textbook:
b. Materials: Graphic Organizer and Pictures
c. Spring Board: Pictures
d. Values Integration: Care on our environment
III. Procedure:
1. Preliminary Activity:
a. Drill: Matching Type. Choose what is the correct answer.
1. Constellations - a group of stars forming a
recognizable pattern.
2. Stars - a fixed luminous point in the night
sky that is a large, remote.
incandescent body like the sun.
3. Sun - the star that provides light and heat
for the earth and around which the
earth moves.
4. Telescope - an optical instrument designed to
make distant objects appear nearer.
5. Sky - the upper atmosphere covering the
earth.
b. Review: Name the different weather found in the Philippines.
c. Motivation: Post the pictures one at a time on the board. Ask your pupils
the following questions;
 What objects can you see in picture A? Picture B?
a) Picture A: sun
b) Picture B: moon, stars
 Is it daytime or night time?
a) Picture A: daytime
b) Picture B: night time
2. Lesson Proper:
1. Presentation:
A. Activity:
1. Divide the class into four. Distribute the meta-cards to each
group.
2. Tell the pupils to write their answers on the metacard, green for
objects seen during daytime and blue for objects seen at night.
3. After the activity, ask the pupils to paste the metacards in the
graphic organizers posted on the board.
B. Analysis: After the two graphic organizers are completed, ask your pupils
the following questions;
 What are the objects seen in the sky at night? during the day?
(night: moon and stars; day: sun and clouds)
 Are there objects that can be seen in both the day and night
sky? (moon and star)
 Can the sun be seen during the night, or only during the day?
(only during the day)
 Why do these objects seen at night not seen during the day?
(Due to the rotation of the earth around the sun and how the
earth spins on its axis)
C. Abstraction:
Ask:
 Which objects do you see at night time? During the day?
 Why do objects seen during the day not seen at night time?
D. Application:
Draw the object seen during the day.
IV. Evaluation:
Instruction: Give what is asked.
1-2. What are the objects seen in the sky at night?
3-4. What are the objects seen in the sky during the day?
5. Can the sun be seen during the night, or only during the day?
V. Assignment:
Go out of the house at night time when the sky is clear. Observe.
1. List the objects you see in the sky. Name them.
2. Write your answers in your assignment notebook.
3. On your drawing pads, draw what you will see.

Objects seen in the sky

  • 1. Lesson Plan in Science III III- Cherry February 19, 2016 I. Objectives: At the end of the discussion, the pupils will be able to: a) enumerate the objects seen in the sky during day and night; b) describe the objects seen in the sky and; c) value the importance in taking good care of our environment. II. Subject Matter: a. Reference: www.universetoday.com Textbook: b. Materials: Graphic Organizer and Pictures c. Spring Board: Pictures d. Values Integration: Care on our environment III. Procedure: 1. Preliminary Activity: a. Drill: Matching Type. Choose what is the correct answer. 1. Constellations - a group of stars forming a recognizable pattern. 2. Stars - a fixed luminous point in the night sky that is a large, remote. incandescent body like the sun. 3. Sun - the star that provides light and heat for the earth and around which the earth moves. 4. Telescope - an optical instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer. 5. Sky - the upper atmosphere covering the earth. b. Review: Name the different weather found in the Philippines. c. Motivation: Post the pictures one at a time on the board. Ask your pupils the following questions;  What objects can you see in picture A? Picture B? a) Picture A: sun b) Picture B: moon, stars  Is it daytime or night time? a) Picture A: daytime b) Picture B: night time 2. Lesson Proper: 1. Presentation:
  • 2. A. Activity: 1. Divide the class into four. Distribute the meta-cards to each group. 2. Tell the pupils to write their answers on the metacard, green for objects seen during daytime and blue for objects seen at night. 3. After the activity, ask the pupils to paste the metacards in the graphic organizers posted on the board. B. Analysis: After the two graphic organizers are completed, ask your pupils the following questions;  What are the objects seen in the sky at night? during the day? (night: moon and stars; day: sun and clouds)  Are there objects that can be seen in both the day and night sky? (moon and star)
  • 3.  Can the sun be seen during the night, or only during the day? (only during the day)  Why do these objects seen at night not seen during the day? (Due to the rotation of the earth around the sun and how the earth spins on its axis) C. Abstraction: Ask:  Which objects do you see at night time? During the day?  Why do objects seen during the day not seen at night time? D. Application: Draw the object seen during the day. IV. Evaluation: Instruction: Give what is asked. 1-2. What are the objects seen in the sky at night? 3-4. What are the objects seen in the sky during the day? 5. Can the sun be seen during the night, or only during the day? V. Assignment: Go out of the house at night time when the sky is clear. Observe. 1. List the objects you see in the sky. Name them. 2. Write your answers in your assignment notebook. 3.
