  If you will be attending college, you must complete a FINAL
  TRANSCRIPT REQUEST form. The charge is one dollar per
  transcript and you can turn the form and fee into the
  Registrar’s office. If you are or have taken college courses
  through St. Philip’s College (DUAL CREDIT), you must send a
  final transcript to them from Samuel Clemens High School
  in order for St. Philip’s to release grades to your receiving
  college or University.

  PLEASE ORDER BY THE END OF MAY.

Things to keep in mind:      *There will be no TAKS/STAAR tutorials this week.
*Only 10th, 11th, and certain 12 grade students will TAKS test.
*9th grade students will be assigned to a specific classroom.
*Seniors do not have to report until 11:55 A.M.,
unless they are re-testers.
*Seniors with 4th lunch do not have to report until 12:45 P.M.
*Seniors who arrive prior to 11:55 A.M. (bus riders or just arrive
 early), must report to the dining center.
*Earn 2 hours of college credit
*Team up with other high school students
  and TLU students on a service project
*Enjoy interesting classes, fun evening
  activities, and great field trips!

SCUC ATPE Scholarship Program
                 The SCUC ATPE proudly announces seven $500 scholarships!
         Lurline Davis Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE
paraprofessionals pursuing a degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in the
                                      field of education.
   Bill Marthes Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE educators
    pursuing an advanced degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in an
                                        education field.
SCUC ATPE Future Educator Scholarship – Open to graduating seniors from Clemens, Steele,
  and Allison Steele who are pursuing degrees with teacher certification. Two scholarships
   each will be awarded to both Clemens and Steele. One scholarship will be awarded to
                                 graduates of Allison Steele.
             Scholarship application packets must be postmarked no later than
                  May 1, 2012. Send completed scholarship applications to:

Hal Baldwin Scholarship:
The City of Schertz has established the Hal
Baldwin Scholarship to encourage high
school seniors who are residents of Schertz
to consider public service as a career path.
The $2500.00 2012 scholarship honors Hal
Baldwin, civic volunteer, council member,
and Mayor. Any currently enrolled high
school senior residing in Schertz is eligible
to apply. This includes homeschooled
students. Scholarship criteria and
application is available in the counseling
office.
The deadline to apply is April 30, 2012.
GRACE PARKER VOIGT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
                     APPLICATION
                     for Texas State University-San Marcos

Grace Parker Voigt taught school for more than 40 years, retiring from SCUCISD. The
Grace Parker Voigt Endowed Scholarship was established for deserving graduates of
SCUCISD who are attending Texas State University-San Marcos.

                 To be considered for the scholarship, the potential recipient must:
                 •Obtain a high school transcript
                 •Complete the application available in the counseling office
                 •Pursue a degree in education at Texas State University –San Marcos

SAT Boot Camp!
     Alamo Heights High School Cafeteria Saturday, April 21,
     2012 - 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Drop-Off and Pick-Up in front of the Mule
     Dome (Pick-up at 1:00 PM) Students should arrive by 7:30
Dear Students :
Most students and parents do not realize that as few as seven questions can change an SAT score by 100
points, which can make a significant difference when applying to competitive colleges and for scholarship
monies.
Expecting 100% of our AHHS Juniors to have already registered to take the SAT and ACT at least once
before the school year ends, the following has been arranged to prepare you for the last two SAT tests this
school year:
an intensive five-hour SAT Specific Boot Camp,
scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012
at the Alamo Heights High School Cafeteria
hosted by Test Prep Seminars, a nationally renowned test preparation provider

This workshop is designed to give effective test-taking and time-management strategies that may help
realize a significant increase in SAT scores. To learn more, please visit www.testprepseminars.org
The normal cost of this SAT Boot Camp is $250. however, Test Prep Seminars is making the camp
available for only $45 to help students improve their test scores.
This five-hour workshop is both effective and economical. Materials include 2 books for each
participant, including 26 practice tests with detailed answers and explanations, along with a strategy
book to further complement your child’s learning.

(bus riders or just arrive early), must report to the dining center.

  • 7. SCUC ATPE Scholarship Program The SCUC ATPE proudly announces seven $500 scholarships! Lurline Davis Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE paraprofessionals pursuing a degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in the field of education. Bill Marthes Memorial SCUC ATPE Scholarship – Open to active SCUC ATPE educators pursuing an advanced degree with teacher certification or an advanced degree in an education field. SCUC ATPE Future Educator Scholarship – Open to graduating seniors from Clemens, Steele, and Allison Steele who are pursuing degrees with teacher certification. Two scholarships each will be awarded to both Clemens and Steele. One scholarship will be awarded to graduates of Allison Steele. Scholarship application packets must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2012. Hal Baldwin Scholarship: The City of Schertz has established the Hal Baldwin Scholarship to encourage high school seniors who are residents of Schertz to consider public service as a career path. The $2500.00 2012 scholarship honors Hal Baldwin, civic volunteer, council member, and Mayor. Any currently enrolled high school senior residing in Schertz is eligible to apply. This includes homeschooled students. Scholarship criteria and application is available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2012.
  • 9. GRACE PARKER VOIGT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION for Texas State University-San Marcos Grace Parker Voigt taught school for more than 40 years, retiring from SCUCISD. The Grace Parker Voigt Endowed Scholarship was established for deserving graduates of SCUCISD who are attending Texas State University-San Marcos. To be considered for the scholarship, the potential recipient must: •Obtain a high school transcript •Complete the application available in the counseling office •Pursue a degree in education at Texas State University –San Marcos Come by the counseling office for more information

Alamo Heights High School Cafeteria Saturday, April 21, 2012 - 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM Drop-Off and Pick-Up in front of the Mule Dome (Pick-up at 1:00 PM) Students should arrive by 7:30 Dear Students : Most students and parents do not realize that as few as seven questions can change an SAT score by 100 points, which can make a significant difference when applying to competitive colleges and for scholarship monies. Expecting 100% of our AHHS Juniors to have already registered to take the SAT and ACT at least once before the school year ends, the following has been arranged to prepare you for the last two SAT tests this school year: an intensive five-hour SAT Specific Boot Camp, scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Alamo Heights High School Cafeteria hosted by Test Prep Seminars, a nationally renowned test preparation provider This workshop is designed to give effective test-taking and time-management strategies that may help realize a significant increase in SAT scores. To learn more, please visit www.testprepseminars.org The normal cost of this SAT Boot Camp is $250. however, Test Prep Seminars is making the camp available for only $45 to help students improve their test scores. This five-hour workshop is both effective and economical. Materials include 2 books for each participant, including 26 practice tests with detailed answers and explanations, along with a strategy book to further complement your child’s learning.
