Climate change and Energy.pptx
1.
2. Climate change and energy uses are directly
interrelated to each other. Even the uses of fossil
fuel; petroleum products, coal etc. which
produces carbon at high amount are directly
supporting to GHGs concentration. Recent data
confirm that consumption of fossil fuels
accounts for the majority of global
anthropogenic GHG emissions. Emissions
continue to grow and CO2 concentrations had
increased to over 390 ppm, or 39% above
preindustrial levels, by the end of 2010.
3. Greenhouse-gas emissions from the energy
sector represent roughly two-thirds of all
anthropogenic greenhouse-gas emissions
and CO2 emissions from the sector have risen
over the past century to ever higher levels. To
combat with climate change, we have to
decrease emission of GHGs at first i.e.
adoption of renewable energy and renewable
energy technologies.
4. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate
Change (UNFCCC) organized COP 21 in Paris and set
some climate goals. In Paris, parties agreed to limit
the increase in global average temperature to well
below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, and to pursue
efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C
above pre-industrial levels, recognizing that such a
limitation would significantly reduce the risks and
impacts of climate change. Renewable energy plays a
key role in mitigating global greenhouse gas
emissions by radically lowering the emissions profile
of the global energy system. It means there is no way
without adoption of RE and RET.
5. The energy management is directly related with the
mitigation of climate change. Primarily, it advocates
for supply and utilization of energy from alternative
and clean energy sources like solar energy,
hydropower, bioenergy, etc.
Finally, we come to conclusion that the development
of the renewable energy and renewable energy based
technologies is very essential to control/reduce the
greenhouse gases concentration. National level policy
about the promotion of alternative energy must be
implemented effectively by all parties to achieve goal
of COP21.
