2. This is the start of the trailer
and could start by having a
voice over maybe ‘a ancient
doll who's seen generations
of ancestors ..’
Old pictures of a little girl
with a doll can be flashed to
here using a sepia effect on
pictures and the camera
with a old flicking effect.
Here a insert of ‘from the
directors of’ this is another
professional thing I have
noticed while looking and
researching trailers.

3. Establishing shot of the bus
stop, group of teenagers
will walk to the bus stop
and find a doll there which
has been abandoned. This
scene will take place in the
day.
A close up of the doll is
shown where the doll may
have cracks to the face and
other signs of abuse and
mistreatment. The
teenagers will pick the doll
up and leave it in a friends
house to play a joke on the
other friend. When doll is
shown eerry music will be
played to create a negative
tone.
Another establishing shot is
shown of the outside of a
house this will show that
the teenagers have taken
the doll home – it will skip
from the previous scene at
the bus stop to the setting
of the home where we will
see the teenagers enter the
house.

4. A view shot will be used
here after the close up of
the dolls face. The view
shot will be from the doll
and will be taken in the
style of CCTV like the doll is
watching the home.
Transitions and effects will
be static interrupting the
CCTV image.
A shot of the doll on the
bed will be shown now the
colour design of the frame
will fade out so the colours
are duller and less vibrant.
Sound effects will include of
children laughing faintly
and the sound of a faint ice
cream van.
The doll will turn evil when
the lights go out – one single
light will illuminate the face
and laughing will be played
again. Make up will be
applied to the doll for
example cracks and dirt -
chips to the face may be used.

5. Inspiration : thirteen advert
for Alton towers. The doll
will appear to move
forward by the movements
being blocked by black
inserts. Movements will
come towards the camera.
This will consist of short
takes and will only last a
few seconds. Old film type
effects
The doll will come close to
the camera but will appear
cracked this will then move
to extreme close ups of
features but will have a
flashing effect with a
camera clicking sound
effect in between this
white inserts will be added.
The camera will zoom into
the cracks of the doll and a
eye will appear for a second
then a insert then will move
and another insert will
appear.

6. When the girl wakes up she
will be placed in a maids
costume like she is a slave to
the doll now.
A wide shot of the room is
shown and the girl is doing
weird jolty movements she
is dirty and hair is messy.
The same short take of
different positions of her
body are shown inserted by
white inserts. Dramatic
jumpy music will be played.
Here instead of black
inserts I think that
levitation stills could be
added and black inserts
could be used.

7. Sound effect would be the
sound of clapping hands
then the body would drop
to normal position again.
A dramatic flash to a black
insert will appear now
accompanied by the sound
of dramatic music loud and
then stopping.
This will end the trailer
with a release date.

8. At the beginning of the
trailer this insert of a real
warning of viewing will be
used to make the trailer
seem more professional.
Other features to make it
seem professional will be
the companies or producers
name. Sound effects will
start here and will be the
sound of flickering like a old
cinema studio.
Before the trailer starts
there will be a background
history section given this
one above is a example but
I’m thinking of a derelict
mental asylum building – it
will; be derelict because of
use of meth within the
institution. Sound effects of
film rolling here would be
effective.

9. A news report will be
inserted saying that reports
have been found on the
derelict mental home after
it was looked into because
of sightings – witnesses has
described the sighting as a
meth head who thinks he’s
the jokers son.
After the meth outbreak it
was shut down - no one
ever escaped the mental
hospital but one man.
News clips of clips from old
people in care home is
shown along with mental
hospital clips – only for a
brief time – retro clips.

10. In march 2013 a group of
3 teenagers decide to
camp on the site for
footage for their
supernatural blog. This will
be text based and will have
music inserted over the
top of it.
An establishing shot of a
mental hospital will be
shown here then a camera
pan will be going around to
show a tent. The
atmosphere will be moody
and spooky with weather
being dark and nearly
raining.
This is another element I
would like to add in which is
the production logo it adds
a professional edge while
slowing the action down
and up again.

11. Another establishing shot f
the teenagers camping on
the site will be shown – they
will be looking carefree and
happy as well as unaware.
This over the shoulder shot
will be showing one of the
teenagers filming and one
recording and talking about
the news report for their
blog.
This black inset will signal
the sign for change where
the trailer goes from the
traditional horror being
happy until something
changes.

12. Sound effects : a bang
in the distance the
camera starts to shake
and a static effect is
used. There is a black
insert inserted.
Screaming sound effects
will be added and talk of
one of the teenagers
missing .
The words of ‘the footage
has never been found
until now’

13. A insert of a close up
of the jokers face is
shown then the
camera is dropped
and went black.
One of the teenagers is
found with a Glasgow smile
and dead. This will take
placea as a over head shot
to see the whole of the
body laid out.
A visual write up of a 999
call is shown as well as the
audio over the top. Other
sound effects could be
screaming or the sound of
sirens.

14. Camera will flicker on the
image in-between black
inserts with dramatic music
like a glorifying music
getting louder and more
intense.
These shots of the dead
body will be in a crime
scene investigation type
theme with the close ups of
the body shown sounds
effects will be the clicking of
a camera and in-between
these shots there will be
white inserts to create a
camera effect.
Close ups of the dead
body will be shown as
explained in the last
picture.

15. This is a picture of a eye in
the trailer this will be a
close up on the hand held
camera this will be
accompanied by the sound
of gasping breath and
silence. This is where the
action starts to subside until
picking back up again.
Black insert in here
along with sound effect
of a scream.
Carrying on with the
crime scene theme the
close up of the jokers
work is shown.

16. This is a extreme close up
of the jokers eye his eye
will signal the end of the
trailer.
At the end of the trailer
there is a title that says the
films name this will swap to
another screen which says
the release date these are
other professional ideas I
thought are effective.

17. Idea 2
• Teenagers go camping for a holiday where they
experiment with drugs while out in the forest / woods
a meth head has escaped from a local mental hospital
decades ago and is the only one to do so now hospital
has been knocked down. who thinks he’s the Joker’s
son thinks the teenagers are a rival drug distributors he
then takes them one by one carving a Glasgow smile
into their faces leaving them dead – all of this filmed in
a jeopardy type way with hand held cameras. With the
footage ‘never been found … until now’ ‘its not the
dead we should fear’ extracts from the 999 call like the
devil inside ‘some people are just born mad’
