1. When producing my media product I used a variety of new and different technologies in
order to bring realism to the piece and to help me produce a professional product. I
used both hardware and software;

Q6: What have you learnt about technologies
from the process of constructing this product?

2. NEW TECHNOLOGIES…
Throughout the whole process, including the research element of
things, I have been introduced to a variety of brand new
technologies I had never used before such as MAC computers,
Photoshop, Go Animate and Prezi. However I have learnt to work
with these and built up my confidence in using them in order to be
able to use them sufficiently so that the media produce looks
professional and conventional to real media products.

3. My iPhone was a technology that I already knew well and it wasn’t new to
me when I had to use the video camera. However when it came to
uploading the videos to my blog and YouTube| it because something I had
to figure out and learn how to use it.
The mac computers were something I had previously used and already
had knowledge about, it was the software that I had to learn more
about and practice using. This was the most useful piece of hardware
when it came to producing my media product due to the high tech
software that enabled me to design and produce a professional looking
product.
The digital camera was another piece of technology that I was already
familiar with, although like the other there was certain aspect that I had to
learn about. The settings on the camera are not something I know a lot
about and change, but I had to learn how to adjust lightings and flash.

4. Photoshop…
I have used Photoshop in both simple and more
technical way in order to produce my product.
Here I have used levels make the images
brighter so that the model and her outfit can be
seen more clear on the front cover. This also
helps improve the lighting on her and in the
background.

5. Photoshop…
With Photoshop I learnt how to correct
problems I had with my photos and It
allowed me to reshape certain things on
my models body, which is what they do in
real media products so that images look
more presentable and professional.
This allowed my to reshape the bottom part of her dress
and make her legs look smoother instead of buffered.

6. Photoshop…
The lighting in the room when taking the shots for
the front cover meant there were large and
unwanted shadows. Photoshop allowed me to
remove then in order for me to put just my model
onto a different background without this shadow.

I was able to change
aspects of the props and
mise-en-scene images in
order for then to look
smoother and without
any unwanted shadows.
I went from image 1 to 4
so that I could use the
image with a different
background.

8. Photoshop…
I reshaped the hair line as after taking the picture I realised that the
flash made the odd ends and chunks of hair look out of place and
really shows the flaws of her hair. I also made it look smoother in
order to make it still have a natural and untouched look.

9. Photoshop…
I learnt a lot about Photoshop
however I still had to develop
my skills whilst producing my
product.
Unfortunately whilst erasing an
unwatd shadow it created a
whiteline around the hairline of
my model, which I was not able
to prevent happening if I was to
remove the shadow.
With the clone tool it allowed me to remove the white line by copying the
skin colur and placing it over the white part.

10. Problems faced…
The only issue from using these new technologies is that you are
learning new things and coming across a variety of difficult scenarios
each time you use them. This caused slight issues when trying to over
come these problems as it was at time very time consuming and tings
were sometimes ruined in the learning of these new tasks.
One of the main technologies I faced issues with was Photoshop, due
to the fact that this was the first time I had ever used this device and it
is a very technical programme.
