2. Premise for my film
•PREMISE of opening scene – Two
girls find a music box that unleashes
a supernatural serial killer.
3. Storyline of the complete film -
• THE BACK STORY – NEW ORLEANS, 1806.
A black slave gives his masters young daughter a present for her birthday – it’s a music box he made for her. The slave has
the daughter on his lap and they are laughing, for a girl so young she hasn’t been brainwashed to be prejudice against him.
However, her bitter older sister sees this and makes up a lie, falsely accusing him of molesting her younger sister, obviously
this wasn’t the case and obviously no one believes him. All the villagers drag him to a corn field and put him on a scarecrow
post to rot away – almost like a crucifixion. To humiliate him even more they stick a pumpkin on his head and hook a scythe
to his through his hand. In his last breath, he vows that whoever opens the music box from that day forward he would come
back to kill them.
• Summary of film: PRESENT DAY – ENGLAND

THE HARVEST
4. The Opening Scene – England, 1987.
• Two girls, sisters, find a music box in the attic of their new house. They are putting the rest of
their stuff they don’t need yet in the attic when they stubble across the music box. The next
shot of them is them running in the field with the music box and a couple of magazines in
hand, in the background is a scarecrow…with a pumpkin for its head. They sit under an apple
tree and listen to the music, whilst reading magazines. When the music finishes, the scarecrow
in the field that has been in the background the whole time, has vanished, with the post its
pinned onto, empty. The scarecrows POV shot us then used to show him walking up behind
the girls, a scythe hooked into its straw hand. The two girls look up to see a scarecrow with a
pumpkin for its head, ready to kill his next victims. As the girls are just about to scream, the
scythe swoops across the screen. Cut to black and the film title appears…’The Harvest’.
