Pro Abortion Research Paper
Abortion is one of the most complex debates in a lot of societies. In the same way as euthanasia
or the death penalty, it is located at the border of life and death. Everyone has an opinion and a
passionate advocate either for or against this subject. Based on a repot, around 53% people are
pro abortion and 47% people are cons. Around half of American women who have an unintended
pregnancy resort to abortion. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy followed by
the death of the embryo or fetus. There are tow types of abortion: chemical; used at the beginning
of the pregnancy and surgical, used when the pregnancy is advanced. Abortion is a sensitive
topic, comports risks but can help a lot of people: Do we have to keep this act, which sometimes
is perceived as violent? Abortion can cause people to be careless with the means of contraception.
Lack of information or deliberately, too many people may think this is a trivial solution that does
not involve risk. Abortion has a lot of risks for the women such as perforation of the uterus,
infection, and damge to other organs. Making greater prevention in this regard would make people
aware that even though abortion is legal it is not trivial. A woman who has an abortion has more

In fact, a woman who is not psychologically ready to provide a good education to a child will not,

not wanting a child has to have the choice to abort. If not, this is potentially the lives of two people

Abortion: In Defense Of Pro-Life
For the second half of the semester the topic that impressed me the most has to be abortion. There
are those who agree that abortion should be allowed since it is the right of the woman's body, which
would be the pro–choice supporters. Then there are those people who believe it is morally wrong to
kill an innocent life regardless of how far into the pregnancy the woman is; the pro–life supporters.
Like any other debate or moral issue problem there is always a middle ground, which is where I
stand. It is not a surprise that there is continuous debate for this given that religion intersects at some
point in defense of pro–life. Generally speaking, the issue begins when people define abortion
differently than others as well as when the fetus

Abortion Vs Pro Life Essay
Abortion is the operation to end a pregnancy by removing a fetus or an embryo from the womb.
This topic has been one of the most prominent controversies in the United States. A human's life is
special in all stages and should not be taken away for any reason. The robbing of someone's life at
any point is morally wrong and is a crime according to religion and the law regarding murder. If one
cannot assume the responsibilities of taking care of a human until they are able to survive on their
own, then intercourse is not recommended. Pro – life groups believe that from the point of
fertilization, a new life is being carried by its mother. According to the Central Illinois Right to Life,
a baby develops a heartbeat at eighteen days....show more content...
These rights are called reproductive rights whereas pro – life groups fight for fetal rights. These
groups also believe that for any reason a woman can terminate the pregnancy. According to Women's
Health, birth control failure, the ending of an unwanted pregnancy, a pregnancy resulting from incest
or rape, a pregnancy that could affect the mother, or a pregnancy that could result in a child with
birth defects are the leading causes of abortions in the United States. Except in cases of rape, incest,
or a complicated pregnancy that can affect the mother's life, the simple solution to stop abortion is to
be abstinent. Though condoms, birth control, and other things seemingly protect one from
conceiving, none are a hundred percent safe. While a woman has the choice to keep or terminate a
pregnancy, the simple fact that a human has been conceived should be enough to show that unless
one is unable to assume all responsibility of that child, they have no business having sexual
intercourse. Unless one becomes pregnant and it is the result of circumstances that they could not
control such as rape or incest, the ultimate way to avoid having an abortion is to stay abstinent until
one is sure that they can take care of the child effectively. Overall, abortion can only be used as a
last resort. Pro – life groups stand by the fact that all life should be cherished from "the womb to the
tomb". Pro – choice groups believe that it is the woman's right to

Pro–Abortion About 20 million, out of 45 million, abortions are medically unsafe and can lead to
serious injury or death to mothers (Ojeda 13). Illegalizing abortion would bring up the number of
medically unsafe abortions. People say abortions should be illegal to stop the killing of unborn
babies. The mothers are the ones who really get to decide if they want to be pregnant for nine
months or if they want to get rid of the baby that may have been caused by rape, broken condom, or
many other reasons. Many bad events could happen if abortion became illegal. The government
should make sure that abortion stays legal. Many people believe that abortion should stay legal so
that women have reproductive choice("Should Abortion be Legal"). Others believe that abortion is
wrong because it kills innocent babies. Abortion should be up to the women who will have to carry
that baby around for nine months whether they want to keep the baby or not. Many abortions take
place because the baby might be born without a good home, or the pregnancy was caused by rape, or
many other reasons. Most abortions do not just happen for a random reason. Whatever...show more

Personhood begins when the fetus becomes viable outside of the womb, which happens after all legal
abortions take place. The fact that the fetus can feel the pain from an abortion is a common
misconception. The fetus cannot feel pain until the spinal cortex forms in the twenty–sixth week of

"I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born" quoted our past president
Ronald Reagan. Imagine that the year is 2025 and you live in California. Abortion is now legal in
every state in America. There have been 1 million abortions the past 2 weeks alone. Coming from
myself, a responsible student who is also an aunt, I believe that abortion should be illegal. For many
important reasons, I feel that everyone could benefit if abortion is illegal. Listen up as I explain the
many reasons why making abortion illegal is the best solution in the United States.
In the first place, it is believed by some that abortion should be illegal and violates an unborn child's
right to life. In the month of January 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that abortion is followed by a
woman's right to privacy in the first trimester of pregnancy. This ruling took place in 46 of the 50
states (Abortion Timeline). Some states allow abortion up until the fetus would be able to survive if
born. At 9 weeks, towards the end of the first trimester, the fetus usually begins sucking their thumb.
Around the same time, they have an audible heartbeat. By week 10, all of the major organs have
formed and by week 12...show more content...
Women who get abortions have an 81% higher risk to get a mental health disorder. There is over
50% of an increased chance for post–abortion women to get suicidal thoughts, mood disorders,
social anxiety, and abuse alcohol and substances. It was found that 14% of women in the U.S suffer
from all symptoms of PTSD post–abortion. After getting an abortion, women are twice as likely to
become heavy smokers and still smoke during a wanted pregnancy, which could harm both the
mother and child ("Abortion Risks: A list of major psychological complications related to
abortion").Overall, abortion can greatly affect the mental and physical health of post–abortion

Argumentative Essay : Pro-Choice Abortion
Pro–choice Abortion Argumentative Paper When it comes to abortion, everyone has a slightly
different view. Whether one believes that no one, or everyone, should be allowed to get an abortion,
the same question comes into play: Is abortion ethical? In addition, when does a human life actually
start? Without concrete facts, we can only do so much with those questions, which is why this is
such a controversial topic. We need to consider all the facts and information available. For example,
whether or not a fetus feels pain, how old the fetus is, and what condition the pregnant woman is in.
The main argument comes down to pro–life versus pro–choice. After doing extensive research, I
have come to agree with the side of pro–choice, meaning that...show more content...
Every individual defines pain differently, so "without interrogation, we cannot know for sure what
the fetus feels" (British Medical Journal). As we know, asking a fetus if it feels pain is impossible,
and assuming that they do could be wrong. Considering these statements, abortion cannot technically
be called murder. Fetuses are not self–aware, rational, or attentive like humans. From a religious
standpoint, I understand why people consider abortion murder. A fetus has the potential for life, and
that they consider that potential life a real life. However, stretching this idea farther, sperm also have
the potential for life, but many of these people are not against sex or masturbation. Fertilization has
not yet occurred, but the potential is still there. According to scientific evidence, a fetus has a fifty to
seventy percent chance of becoming a feasible human being. These chances are relatively high, but
not a guarantee, and not yet a life. One cannot kill something that is not yet alive.
Other topics in regards to abortion are health and rape. Rape is a very touchy subject and still very
controversial when it comes to abortion. If a woman is raped and gets pregnant, she should be
allowed to get an abortion. She did not get a choice in that matter, so she should have the choice on
whether or not she want to have a baby. Rapes cause emotional trauma, and no one

contraceptives to avoid a pregnancy, but she knew she needed to take an emergency contraceptive.
Marissa was a pro–life activist, meaning she opposed abortions. She, along with all the other pro–life
supporters, never did accept that people had abortions. People felt the same on the topic as her, they
were all completely against abortions and shamed woman who had took part in the practice. She did
not even understand why people even thought about having abortions, she believed only egotistical
woman wanted them. Until she found out she was pregnant, but knew she did not want to start a
family with the man nor did she believe it was the right time, she knew it was a mistake. Marissa
was finally in their shoes, she finally understood. Being pro–choice is supporting legal abortions, but
it is also protecting women's right to choose. Pro–choice advocates believe there is nothing wrong
with ladies getting to choose to keep their unborn baby or not, and there is nothing wrong with
choosing to go through with an abortion. People should become pro–choice advocates because a
woman should decide her reproductive health care, have access to birth control and emergency
contraceptives, and although it's believed abortions are dangerous, having abortions is safer than
giving birth.

Pro–choice is the belief that women should have the right to make a decision about their own body,
and not have someone telling them they can't. Abortion is one of the most talked about subjects on
women's rights. People are either pro–choice which is for or pro–life which is against abortion. In
1973 there was a huge topic that caused a lot of controversy and is still talked about today. This case
was brought to the United States Supreme Court and is what made abortion legal for women. This
case is most commonly known as Roe v. Wade. There are many protests that have happened and
still happen because of the decision to make abortion legal. After abortion was made legal ten
thousand people gathered and protested that abortion is wrong in New York's Central Park. There
has been more than 300 acts of extreme violence towards providers of abortion. In 1973, there was
a group of people standing outside Planned Parenthood yelling, "Whores" amongst other things.
Another protest that has been going on since the 1973 case Roe v. Wade is "March for Life", and
attracts up to 500,000 people who are pro–life. Despite all the protest and rallies, abortion still
remains legal and the fight against abortion is not over. Woman should have the option to have an

Through many years, abortion is still considerably a very controversial issue in the society. In
1973, the U.S Supreme Court case of Roe vs Wade, abortion is a legal choice for pregnant women
(Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). However, in some countries like Philippine, Chile, Nigeria,
etc. Abortion is noticeably illegal (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). In addition, having
abortion is a very risky taken because women lose a lot of blood and especially feeling pain. When
woman decides to abort the future baby, it means that she is taking someone's life, so abortion is
murder. According to Oxford dictionary, abortion is clearly defined as "Deliberate termination of a

because it needs time, money and providing love to children. If abortion is legal the unwanted baby
is not suffering from living in an unhappy live.
However, there are several reasons that abortion should not be legal. Firstly, women choose
termination of pregnancy because of the gender selective. The study from 2000 to 2014 shows that
there were 24 million girls have been missing because of sex–selective abortion "Based on this
natural ratio, there should have been 47 million more boys than girls born since 2000. Instead,
because of sex–selective abortions, there were 71 million more boys than girls born." (World
Population Institute, 2000–2014).For instance, in some countries like India, China and etc. people
prefer boys than girls because daughters maybe considered as burden to the parents and especially,
an expensive dowry is needed once when she is married. Meanwhile, sons alone inherit property,
conduct funeral rites and carry on the family name. Secondly, abortion can positively result in
psychological problems for women such as depression, anxiety, drug abuse, post–traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation etc. "Researchers

Pro Abortion Debate
For decades, there has been a discourse over the topic of abortion. Debates have been centered on
whether the process should be legal or banned. As of 2015, some states and the U.S. Congress are

practice but it should be available for unprepared mothers to rape victims. First, the discussion of the

women are denied abortion, even where it is legal. For this reason, women seek for other means of

Abortion: Choose to be Pro–Life
The topic of abortion is an extremely delicate issue across the world. In many situations, pregnant
women debate for an endless amount of time on whether to have an abortion or not. While some
people may believe that it is acceptable to be pro–choice and that an embryo is not technically alive
until a certain number of weeks after conception, abortion is still murdering the fetus in such a
devastating way. Furthermore, many women who do not necessarily want to have a child believe
that abortion is the only way out, but it is important that women scrutinize at the countless options
before settling with abortion. With that being said, I believe that all women should be pro–life for
the following reasons: life begins at conception, abortion can harm the mother physically and
emotionally, pregnancy and children are a gift from God, and the legislative part of the U.S.
government has laws against certain types of abortion.
In any respectable medical or pregnancy textbook across the globe, it will enlighten individuals that
all kinds of life begins at conception which is when an egg becomes fertilized within the expectant
mother's uterus. On the other hand, pro–choice men and women may determine a life form by a
certain weight or size; therefore, this is a reason that justifies why abortions continue to happen up to
a certain week in the pregnancy. To the surprise of most, many people do not take into consideration
that the fetus growing

Abortion is one of the most personal, widely discussed, and controversial topics in American culture
today. In most cases, people on both sides of the argument take worthy and moral positions. Who

right to make such a personal, heartbreaking choice? No matter what she chooses to do, should

A large number of women have suffered from the detrimental effects of unsanitary operations, and
even attempts at the most dangerous form of abortion: self–abortion. The Roe vs. Wade decision
won women the right to have an abortion. This legalization was a public health victory for women
with its preceding introduction of antibiotics and antiseptics for use in abortions. Roe vs. Wade is
considered today, to be an avant–garde decision, exemplifying ?judicial activism?. One important
topic debated by many pro–choice and pro–lifers, is: at what point does a fetus become human? This
is one of the determining factors of the controversy surrounding abortion. Pro–life activists claim that
life begins at conception, stressing the idea that a human embryo is self–developing. And since it
cannot become anything other than human, it is a living human. Albeit a fetus may technically of
human origin, it does not have the ability to conduct a conscious thought. At that point, the
biological qualities of an embryo are equivalent to a sesame seed, or an egg. Can we really say that
every time we eat an egg, it is like eating an unborn child? According to pro–lifers, yes, and they are
technically correct. An egg is a completely fertilized, undeveloped infant. Yet the average American
eats them on a weekly basis. How can that be justified by the pro–life campaign? It cannot. For one

Position Paper On Abortion
Abortion has become a social issue in the United States because there is a political argument on
weather human rights should be given to unborn children. This would make abortion illegal.
Abortion has become an extremely sensitive topic for many women. There are controversial
arguments between pro–life; those who believe abortion should be illegal and with pro–choice; those
who believe abortion should be up to the women to decide. An abortion usually needs to take place
during the first three months of the pregnancy. Doctors have two methods to complete the procedure;
the most common one being suction curettage which involves removing the fetus from the womb by
scraping the woman's uterus. The other method is by taking a pill which causes the body to block
the hormone progesterone, which helps with the development of the embryo.
I strongly feel that a woman should be able to choose what weather they want to continue their
pregnancy or not. Abortion shouldn't be a topic on right and wrong but on an option a woman can
choose from. Denying a woman an abortion is a violation of rights. An abortion may sometimes
seem like the only option for many women. Abortion isn't a procedure that you go get done and
forget about it forever. Woman who undergo an abortion procedure have to live with that thought
every day. The fact is that there are many circumstances that come into action when it comes to
choosing abortions. I want people to understand that this is about human rights, it's about the women
who are the heads of important companies, women who are housewives, women who are students,
and all women. Abortion isn't about politics, religion, or men who think women shouldn't have the
right to decide. I want people to know that abortion is about all the woman in the world who have
suffered or are suffering due to an unplanned pregnancy.
The truth is that not all women who conceive are in a loving relationship or economically stable.
Unfortunately, many women conceive through the crime of rape and many women feel like they
can't bring a child into the world that didn't come out of love. Politicians don't look at the reasons
why many women choose to abort they only look at the reasons why they shouldn't. It isn't

Who is to say that if all children ever conceived were born they would live happy, healthy lives?
There are plenty of commercials on television proving that the world is full of starving children.
So should we add to the population of starving children? For many women, the choice could be
related to their own health. Women have the right to choose their own life over a child they
would never see if they went through with the birth. 24 percent of women having abortions are
unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life.
To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress
is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a
miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A
woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child. It is understandable
how people can disagree with abortion. Babies are miracles in themselves and any parent knows
that. However, we are only human, and we all have the right to choose how we live. If having a
child would only make one?s life worse, then giving birth may not be the answer. Though abortion
may seem unfortunate, it may all be for the better. Therefore, people must open their minds a little to
accept this. Abortion is a serious subject, and anyone who considers it must be rational, and

What do you think about when you hear the word abortion? According to dictionary.com Abortion is
the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy and also any of
various surgical methods for terminating a pregnancy, especially during the first six months. Abortion
it's a decision a woman has the right to make. No government should have the right to dictate
what happens to the woman's body. Nobody should have a word or say in the decision the
woman takes. Abortion is an individual's freedom, it's needed for medical procedures and for a
victim's protection. It is the individual's fundamental right to be in control of their own body and
the way it functions; no one should be forced to continue another life if it was never purposely
meant. You possibly know of someone who has gotten an abortion. They could have done it for

and just agree on what they planned to do. You were there for support because you knew they

Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice
Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of
years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law
making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into
"Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to

The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the
enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth
Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control
over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue
that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not
override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is
personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights
and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th
amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include
that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only
fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from
fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that
destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered
ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that
would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is

Abortion, when the topic comes up, it is usually something people do not like to discuss. People
may tend to avoid this issue for fear of offending or angering others but it is extremely important
that the horrors of this brutal practice be addressed. During the years 1965–1996 over 515 million
babies have been murdered, this is if you add the number of chemical and surgical abortions
(www.rockforlife.org). This is what we need to understand: abortion kills and we need to know where
it came from.
The legalization of abortion started in Mississippi in the year 1966; it was used in the cases of
rape. Then other states began to expand the use of abortion. For instance, if it was the case of rape,

suck out the babies brain. Then he uses forceps to crush the babies' skull and pull the rest of the
babies' body out. Salt poisoning is also used, where salt is injected and the bay dies of convulsions
due to salt poisoning (www.rockforlife.org). If they can say this is not murder, then what is?
Abortion is not painless for the mother either. Over ninety–seven percent of women have reported
feeling pain it is often described as intense, severe, or very severe. Abortion is also not without side
effects. Complications such as bleeding, hemorrhaging, menstrual disturbances or inflammation of
the reproductive organs. Sometimes abortion can cause damage to the uterus and make the woman
infertile for the rest of her life. (Abortion some medical facts pamphlet.) Also if you are a women
and have had an abortion you increase your chances of having breast cancer by fifty percent.
Abortion has no good results in for the mother or the poor murdered baby. In the end it will always
cause physical and emotional pain.
What do religious beliefs have to do with abortion? They have everything to do with

Pro Abortion Essay

  • 1. Pro Abortion Research Paper Abortion is one of the most complex debates in a lot of societies. In the same way as euthanasia or the death penalty, it is located at the border of life and death. Everyone has an opinion and a passionate advocate either for or against this subject. Based on a repot, around 53% people are pro abortion and 47% people are cons. Around half of American women who have an unintended pregnancy resort to abortion. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a pregnancy followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. There are tow types of abortion: chemical; used at the beginning of the pregnancy and surgical, used when the pregnancy is advanced. Abortion is a sensitive topic, comports risks but can help a lot of people: Do we have to keep this act, which sometimes is perceived as violent? Abortion can cause people to be careless with the means of contraception. Lack of information or deliberately, too many people may think this is a trivial solution that does not involve risk. Abortion has a lot of risks for the women such as perforation of the uterus, infection, and damge to other organs. Making greater prevention in this regard would make people aware that even though abortion is legal it is not trivial. A woman who has an abortion has more chances of becoming sterile, having a miscarriage or give birth to...show more content... In fact, a woman who is not psychologically ready to provide a good education to a child will not, in most cases, make a good mother. The child who did not receive a good education, and maybe, even no love from his mother can not be promised a well future. A mother which is determined to not wanting a child has to have the choice to abort. If not, this is potentially the lives of two people that will be ruined: the mother and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Abortion: In Defense Of Pro-Life For the second half of the semester the topic that impressed me the most has to be abortion. There are those who agree that abortion should be allowed since it is the right of the woman's body, which would be the pro–choice supporters. Then there are those people who believe it is morally wrong to kill an innocent life regardless of how far into the pregnancy the woman is; the pro–life supporters. Like any other debate or moral issue problem there is always a middle ground, which is where I stand. It is not a surprise that there is continuous debate for this given that religion intersects at some point in defense of pro–life. Generally speaking, the issue begins when people define abortion differently than others as well as when the fetus Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Abortion Vs Pro Life Essay Abortion is the operation to end a pregnancy by removing a fetus or an embryo from the womb. This topic has been one of the most prominent controversies in the United States. A human's life is special in all stages and should not be taken away for any reason. The robbing of someone's life at any point is morally wrong and is a crime according to religion and the law regarding murder. If one cannot assume the responsibilities of taking care of a human until they are able to survive on their own, then intercourse is not recommended. Pro – life groups believe that from the point of fertilization, a new life is being carried by its mother. According to the Central Illinois Right to Life, a baby develops a heartbeat at eighteen days....show more content... These rights are called reproductive rights whereas pro – life groups fight for fetal rights. These groups also believe that for any reason a woman can terminate the pregnancy. According to Women's Health, birth control failure, the ending of an unwanted pregnancy, a pregnancy resulting from incest or rape, a pregnancy that could affect the mother, or a pregnancy that could result in a child with birth defects are the leading causes of abortions in the United States. Except in cases of rape, incest, or a complicated pregnancy that can affect the mother's life, the simple solution to stop abortion is to be abstinent. Though condoms, birth control, and other things seemingly protect one from conceiving, none are a hundred percent safe. While a woman has the choice to keep or terminate a pregnancy, the simple fact that a human has been conceived should be enough to show that unless one is unable to assume all responsibility of that child, they have no business having sexual intercourse. Unless one becomes pregnant and it is the result of circumstances that they could not control such as rape or incest, the ultimate way to avoid having an abortion is to stay abstinent until one is sure that they can take care of the child effectively. Overall, abortion can only be used as a last resort. Pro – life groups stand by the fact that all life should be cherished from "the womb to the tomb". Pro – choice groups believe that it is the woman's right to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay On Pro Abortion Pro–Abortion Maxx Szucs Social Studies/English Mr. Eller/Mrs. Baumgartner 11/10/16 Pro–Abortion About 20 million, out of 45 million, abortions are medically unsafe and can lead to serious injury or death to mothers (Ojeda 13). Illegalizing abortion would bring up the number of medically unsafe abortions. People say abortions should be illegal to stop the killing of unborn babies. The mothers are the ones who really get to decide if they want to be pregnant for nine months or if they want to get rid of the baby that may have been caused by rape, broken condom, or many other reasons. Many bad events could happen if abortion became illegal. The government should make sure that abortion stays legal. Many people believe that abortion should stay legal so that women have reproductive choice("Should Abortion be Legal"). Others believe that abortion is wrong because it kills innocent babies. Abortion should be up to the women who will have to carry that baby around for nine months whether they want to keep the baby or not. Many abortions take place because the baby might be born without a good home, or the pregnancy was caused by rape, or many other reasons. Most abortions do not just happen for a random reason. Whatever...show more content... Personhood begins when the fetus becomes viable outside of the womb, which happens after all legal abortions take place. The fact that the fetus can feel the pain from an abortion is a common misconception. The fetus cannot feel pain until the spinal cortex forms in the twenty–sixth week of a woman's pregnancy("Should Abortion be Legal"). All legal abortions are done before the twenty–sixth week. The latest you can have a legal abortion is in the twenty–fourth week, or on the one–hundred sixty–ninth day(Ojeda Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Pro Abortion Benefits "I've noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born" quoted our past president Ronald Reagan. Imagine that the year is 2025 and you live in California. Abortion is now legal in every state in America. There have been 1 million abortions the past 2 weeks alone. Coming from myself, a responsible student who is also an aunt, I believe that abortion should be illegal. For many important reasons, I feel that everyone could benefit if abortion is illegal. Listen up as I explain the many reasons why making abortion illegal is the best solution in the United States. In the first place, it is believed by some that abortion should be illegal and violates an unborn child's right to life. In the month of January 1973, the Supreme Court ruled that abortion is followed by a woman's right to privacy in the first trimester of pregnancy. This ruling took place in 46 of the 50 states (Abortion Timeline). Some states allow abortion up until the fetus would be able to survive if born. At 9 weeks, towards the end of the first trimester, the fetus usually begins sucking their thumb. Around the same time, they have an audible heartbeat. By week 10, all of the major organs have formed and by week 12...show more content... Women who get abortions have an 81% higher risk to get a mental health disorder. There is over 50% of an increased chance for post–abortion women to get suicidal thoughts, mood disorders, social anxiety, and abuse alcohol and substances. It was found that 14% of women in the U.S suffer from all symptoms of PTSD post–abortion. After getting an abortion, women are twice as likely to become heavy smokers and still smoke during a wanted pregnancy, which could harm both the mother and child ("Abortion Risks: A list of major psychological complications related to abortion").Overall, abortion can greatly affect the mental and physical health of post–abortion Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Argumentative Essay : Pro-Choice Abortion Pro–choice Abortion Argumentative Paper When it comes to abortion, everyone has a slightly different view. Whether one believes that no one, or everyone, should be allowed to get an abortion, the same question comes into play: Is abortion ethical? In addition, when does a human life actually start? Without concrete facts, we can only do so much with those questions, which is why this is such a controversial topic. We need to consider all the facts and information available. For example, whether or not a fetus feels pain, how old the fetus is, and what condition the pregnant woman is in. The main argument comes down to pro–life versus pro–choice. After doing extensive research, I have come to agree with the side of pro–choice, meaning that...show more content... Every individual defines pain differently, so "without interrogation, we cannot know for sure what the fetus feels" (British Medical Journal). As we know, asking a fetus if it feels pain is impossible, and assuming that they do could be wrong. Considering these statements, abortion cannot technically be called murder. Fetuses are not self–aware, rational, or attentive like humans. From a religious standpoint, I understand why people consider abortion murder. A fetus has the potential for life, and that they consider that potential life a real life. However, stretching this idea farther, sperm also have the potential for life, but many of these people are not against sex or masturbation. Fertilization has not yet occurred, but the potential is still there. According to scientific evidence, a fetus has a fifty to seventy percent chance of becoming a feasible human being. These chances are relatively high, but not a guarantee, and not yet a life. One cannot kill something that is not yet alive. Other topics in regards to abortion are health and rape. Rape is a very touchy subject and still very controversial when it comes to abortion. If a woman is raped and gets pregnant, she should be allowed to get an abortion. She did not get a choice in that matter, so she should have the choice on whether or not she want to have a baby. Rapes cause emotional trauma, and no one Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Pro Choice Of Abortion Valeria Arauza Ms. Cooney English CP10 30 October 2017 Marissa recently found out she was pregnant, she was taking birth control pills as contraceptives to avoid a pregnancy, but she knew she needed to take an emergency contraceptive. Marissa was a pro–life activist, meaning she opposed abortions. She, along with all the other pro–life supporters, never did accept that people had abortions. People felt the same on the topic as her, they were all completely against abortions and shamed woman who had took part in the practice. She did not even understand why people even thought about having abortions, she believed only egotistical woman wanted them. Until she found out she was pregnant, but knew she did not want to start a family with the man nor did she believe it was the right time, she knew it was a mistake. Marissa was finally in their shoes, she finally understood. Being pro–choice is supporting legal abortions, but it is also protecting women's right to choose. Pro–choice advocates believe there is nothing wrong with ladies getting to choose to keep their unborn baby or not, and there is nothing wrong with choosing to go through with an abortion. People should become pro–choice advocates because a woman should decide her reproductive health care, have access to birth control and emergency contraceptives, and although it's believed abortions are dangerous, having abortions is safer than giving birth. People should become pro–choice advocates because the reproductive Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Pro Abortion Pro–choice is the belief that women should have the right to make a decision about their own body, and not have someone telling them they can't. Abortion is one of the most talked about subjects on women's rights. People are either pro–choice which is for or pro–life which is against abortion. In 1973 there was a huge topic that caused a lot of controversy and is still talked about today. This case was brought to the United States Supreme Court and is what made abortion legal for women. This case is most commonly known as Roe v. Wade. There are many protests that have happened and still happen because of the decision to make abortion legal. After abortion was made legal ten thousand people gathered and protested that abortion is wrong in New York's Central Park. There has been more than 300 acts of extreme violence towards providers of abortion. In 1973, there was a group of people standing outside Planned Parenthood yelling, "Whores" amongst other things. Another protest that has been going on since the 1973 case Roe v. Wade is "March for Life", and attracts up to 500,000 people who are pro–life. Despite all the protest and rallies, abortion still remains legal and the fight against abortion is not over. Woman should have the option to have an abortion because freedom of choice, population control, and medical risk. Women have the right to an abortion because they have a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the four–tenth Amendment. With this, women have the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Pro Abortion Essay Through many years, abortion is still considerably a very controversial issue in the society. In 1973, the U.S Supreme Court case of Roe vs Wade, abortion is a legal choice for pregnant women (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). However, in some countries like Philippine, Chile, Nigeria, etc. Abortion is noticeably illegal (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). In addition, having abortion is a very risky taken because women lose a lot of blood and especially feeling pain. When woman decides to abort the future baby, it means that she is taking someone's life, so abortion is murder. According to Oxford dictionary, abortion is clearly defined as "Deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28...show more content... (BMC Women's health, 2013). For example, raising a child is absolutely not an easy process because it needs time, money and providing love to children. If abortion is legal the unwanted baby is not suffering from living in an unhappy live. However, there are several reasons that abortion should not be legal. Firstly, women choose termination of pregnancy because of the gender selective. The study from 2000 to 2014 shows that there were 24 million girls have been missing because of sex–selective abortion "Based on this natural ratio, there should have been 47 million more boys than girls born since 2000. Instead, because of sex–selective abortions, there were 71 million more boys than girls born." (World Population Institute, 2000–2014).For instance, in some countries like India, China and etc. people prefer boys than girls because daughters maybe considered as burden to the parents and especially, an expensive dowry is needed once when she is married. Meanwhile, sons alone inherit property, conduct funeral rites and carry on the family name. Secondly, abortion can positively result in psychological problems for women such as depression, anxiety, drug abuse, post–traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation etc. "Researchers Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Pro Abortion Debate For decades, there has been a discourse over the topic of abortion. Debates have been centered on whether the process should be legal or banned. As of 2015, some states and the U.S. Congress are attempting to ban abortion. Abortion is the process of removing an embryo, thus, ending a pregnancy. Women should have the option for a legal, safeabortion. Abortion may be a questionable practice but it should be available for unprepared mothers to rape victims. First, the discussion of the difference between pro–life and pro–choice. The definitions of these terms are very straightforward. Pro–life is the belief that removal of a fetus is "murder" along with wanting the fetus to continue developing. In short, pro–life is the opposing side of abortion. Pro–choice is...show more content... As of the last year, 2015, 50% of Americans are pro–choice, while 44% are pro–life. Nevertheless, women are denied abortion, even where it is legal. For this reason, women seek for other means of an abortion, ones that can even cause death. When women are seeking illegal abortions, most are harmed. Although complications can happen in both professional and unprofessional abortions, the complications are greater when it is done by unprofessional means. The disadvantages of this process can lead to infections, excessive bleeding and damage to the uterus. Lilian SepГєlveda has said in an email that, "Restrictive abortion laws across the globe result in 22 million unsafe abortions annually – killing nearly 50,000 women each year." (Will Boggs MD). The questions, "Why can't the mother keep the child?" or "What about adoption?" might be brought up. However, the answer to these Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Pro Abortion Abortion: Choose to be Pro–Life The topic of abortion is an extremely delicate issue across the world. In many situations, pregnant women debate for an endless amount of time on whether to have an abortion or not. While some people may believe that it is acceptable to be pro–choice and that an embryo is not technically alive until a certain number of weeks after conception, abortion is still murdering the fetus in such a devastating way. Furthermore, many women who do not necessarily want to have a child believe that abortion is the only way out, but it is important that women scrutinize at the countless options before settling with abortion. With that being said, I believe that all women should be pro–life for the following reasons: life begins at conception, abortion can harm the mother physically and emotionally, pregnancy and children are a gift from God, and the legislative part of the U.S. government has laws against certain types of abortion. In any respectable medical or pregnancy textbook across the globe, it will enlighten individuals that all kinds of life begins at conception which is when an egg becomes fertilized within the expectant mother's uterus. On the other hand, pro–choice men and women may determine a life form by a certain weight or size; therefore, this is a reason that justifies why abortions continue to happen up to a certain week in the pregnancy. • 12. Essay on Pro-Choice Abortion Abortion Abortion is one of the most personal, widely discussed, and controversial topics in American culture today. In most cases, people on both sides of the argument take worthy and moral positions. Who can blame someone who wishes to prevent the termination of a teen pregnancy to save the life of an unborn child? On the other hand, who can blame anyone who advocates the soon–to–be mother's right to make such a personal, heartbreaking choice? No matter what she chooses to do, should anyone have the legal right to force her to bear an unwanted child? Most people in the US are pro–choice, and believe that abortion should be a legal, confidential decision that only a woman can make for herself. However, some are against the idea of...show more content... A large number of women have suffered from the detrimental effects of unsanitary operations, and even attempts at the most dangerous form of abortion: self–abortion. The Roe vs. Wade decision won women the right to have an abortion. This legalization was a public health victory for women with its preceding introduction of antibiotics and antiseptics for use in abortions. Roe vs. Wade is considered today, to be an avant–garde decision, exemplifying ?judicial activism?. One important topic debated by many pro–choice and pro–lifers, is: at what point does a fetus become human? This is one of the determining factors of the controversy surrounding abortion. Pro–life activists claim that life begins at conception, stressing the idea that a human embryo is self–developing. And since it cannot become anything other than human, it is a living human. Albeit a fetus may technically of human origin, it does not have the ability to conduct a conscious thought. At that point, the biological qualities of an embryo are equivalent to a sesame seed, or an egg. Can we really say that every time we eat an egg, it is like eating an unborn child? According to pro–lifers, yes, and they are technically correct. An egg is a completely fertilized, undeveloped infant. Yet the average American eats them on a weekly basis. How can that be justified by the pro–life campaign? It cannot. For one to truly LOSE a life, one must be aware he or she is alive. Thought and emotion are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Position Paper On Abortion Abortion has become a social issue in the United States because there is a political argument on weather human rights should be given to unborn children. This would make abortion illegal. Abortion has become an extremely sensitive topic for many women. There are controversial arguments between pro–life; those who believe abortion should be illegal and with pro–choice; those who believe abortion should be up to the women to decide. An abortion usually needs to take place during the first three months of the pregnancy. Doctors have two methods to complete the procedure; the most common one being suction curettage which involves removing the fetus from the womb by scraping the woman's uterus. The other method is by taking a pill which causes the body to block the hormone progesterone, which helps with the development of the embryo. I strongly feel that a woman should be able to choose what weather they want to continue their pregnancy or not. Abortion shouldn't be a topic on right and wrong but on an option a woman can choose from. Denying a woman an abortion is a violation of rights. An abortion may sometimes seem like the only option for many women. Abortion isn't a procedure that you go get done and forget about it forever. Woman who undergo an abortion procedure have to live with that thought every day. The fact is that there are many circumstances that come into action when it comes to choosing abortions. I want people to understand that this is about human rights, it's about the women who are the heads of important companies, women who are housewives, women who are students, and all women. Abortion isn't about politics, religion, or men who think women shouldn't have the right to decide. I want people to know that abortion is about all the woman in the world who have suffered or are suffering due to an unplanned pregnancy. The truth is that not all women who conceive are in a loving relationship or economically stable. Unfortunately, many women conceive through the crime of rape and many women feel like they can't bring a child into the world that didn't come out of love. Politicians don't look at the reasons why many women choose to abort they only look at the reasons why they shouldn't. It isn't Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Pro Choice Abortion Essay The topic of abortion is a hot subject among the people of America today. Some say yes, women should be able to have abortions no matter if the fetus is in the first trimester or well in to the second trimester of gestation. On the other hand the other people say that it is murder of a child no matter the stage of development. Many of the people that believe that the fertilized ovum is a human and has a soul at the conception are the pro–life people. They believe this because of their religious beliefs and cannot scientifically prove this in any way. Pro choice is anyone who feels women have the individual right to choose abortion as an option. Who is to say that if all children ever conceived were born they would live happy, healthy lives? There are plenty of commercials on television proving that the world is full of starving children. So should we add to the population of starving children? For many women, the choice could be related to their own health. Women have the right to choose their own life over a child they would never see if they went through with the birth. 24 percent of women having abortions are unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life. To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child. It is understandable how people can disagree with abortion. Babies are miracles in themselves and any parent knows that. However, we are only human, and we all have the right to choose how we live. If having a child would only make one?s life worse, then giving birth may not be the answer. Though abortion may seem unfortunate, it may all be for the better. Therefore, people must open their minds a little to accept this. Abortion is a serious subject, and anyone who considers it must be rational, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Pro Choice On Abortion : Abortion Essay PRO–CHOICE ON ABORTION What do you think about when you hear the word abortion? According to dictionary.com Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy and also any of various surgical methods for terminating a pregnancy, especially during the first six months. Abortion it's a decision a woman has the right to make. No government should have the right to dictate what happens to the woman's body. Nobody should have a word or say in the decision the woman takes. Abortion is an individual's freedom, it's needed for medical procedures and for a victim's protection. It is the individual's fundamental right to be in control of their own body and the way it functions; no one should be forced to continue another life if it was never purposely meant. You possibly know of someone who has gotten an abortion. They could have done it for personal reasons, reasons you will never understand. You personally had no say in their decisions, and just agree on what they planned to do. You were there for support because you knew they would end up needing someone by their side to help them out through this chapter in their life they just went through. This topic is very controversial and there is always to side to every argument and for this argument there is the side of Pro–choice and Pro–Life. Pro–Choice is what I support and what I will be talking about in this paper. By supporting my side of the argument by giving information on why it is a good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into "Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to choice whether to abort or not. Pro–Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed. In 1973, a...show more content... The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Pro Abortion (Anti Abortion Rebuttal) Essay Pro Abortion Abortion is defined as the expulsion of a fetus by a pregnant female before the normal end of a pregnancy. Many times and in most cases, specifically in the article titled "ABORTION" by Jimmyissmart on oppapers.com, abortion is seen as an act of violence and inhumane murder. It is mainly for this reason why people who are anti– abortion support their point of view. However, to murder the victim must first be alive, but what is the meaning of life? In the case that a responsible female takes the proper precautions by using a condom or taking a pill and still ends up with an unwanted pregnancy should she drop out of school get a job at McDonalds work for minimum wage and raise a baby in poverty or should she post pone her getting a baby get an education first then, when she is more capable to raise and manage a happy and healthy baby do so? Thirdly, "Rape is a big excuse for people who are for abortion." Women who become pregnant through rape and even incest rape suffer the most severe form of emotional tragedy. Should they still go through with having that child even though they may be at a time in their life where a child may completely destroy their life and also the fact that, that child will be the embodiment of that one moment in their life that they try to forget? • 19. Pro-Life Essay examples Pro–Life English I 1 Abortion, when the topic comes up, it is usually something people do not like to discuss. People may tend to avoid this issue for fear of offending or angering others but it is extremely important that the horrors of this brutal practice be addressed. During the years 1965–1996 over 515 million babies have been murdered, this is if you add the number of chemical and surgical abortions (www.rockforlife.org). This is what we need to understand: abortion kills and we need to know where it came from. The legalization of abortion started in Mississippi in the year 1966; it was used in the cases of rape. Then other states began to expand the use of abortion. For instance, if it was the case of rape, ...show more content... One way is called Partial Birth Abortion (D&X); it can kill babies up to thirty–two weeks old. The abortionist (murderer in this case) removes all of the baby from the mother except for the head, he then jab a pair of scissors in the back of the babies skull and then he uses a suction hose to suck out the babies brain. Then he uses forceps to crush the babies' skull and pull the rest of the babies' body out. Salt poisoning is also used, where salt is injected and the bay dies of convulsions due to salt poisoning (www.rockforlife.org). If they can say this is not murder, then what is? Abortion is not painless for the mother either. Over ninety–seven percent of women have reported feeling pain it is often described as intense, severe, or very severe.
