3. DRIVER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP:
Sponsored by A+ Clark’s Driving School. This
scholarship covers a six-week driving program.
Two scholarships are being made available for
the 2016-2017
4. CLOTHES CLOSET CARING SCHOLARSHIP:
Sponsored by Sacred Hearts’ Parent Board through
donations to the Uniform Closet. Receive $250 in support
of the necessities for school such as uniforms, books and
school supplies. There are 6 of these scholarships
available for the 2016-2017 school year: 2 for lower
school, 2 for junior high; and 2 for high school.
The deadline for both scholarships is Monday, March 21st. Applications for
both are available through Edline or you may pick it up in the Development

5. COLLEGE VISITS:
Schedule is for the month of April and is open to grades
10-12:
4/4 – Northern Arizona University
4/11 – Seton Hall University (NJ)
Go to Naviance/Family Connections to sign-up under the
“College” tab. Also, you can get the permission form from Mr.
Fong or print it out under the “Document Library” tab.
6. COLLEGE FAIR:
The National College Fair will be held on April 12th at the
Hawaii Convention Center. There will be two shifts, morning
and evening.
Attending a college fair is the best way to gather information,
firsthand, about colleges and universities. It’s free and open to
the public. The fair will give students an opportunity to meet
face to face with college representatives from all over the
world. Flyers will be passed out to students in grades 9-11. It
will also be posted on Edline. See your grade level counselor
for details. Pre-registration is recommended.
7. SUMMER INTERNSHIP:
Hawai`i Pacific Health is offering their annual summer
internship for college students at Kapiolani Medical
Center for Women and Children, Pali Momi Medical
Center, Straub Clinic & Hospital, Wilcox Memorial
Hospital, and Kauai Medical Clinic. Students will be
able to interact with and learn from health care
professionals. Graduating high school seniors are
invited to apply. See Mr. Fong for flyers.
8. SUMMER COLLEGE TOUR:
Registration forms for this tour to San
Francisco/Bay area from June 4-10 are now
available in Mr. Fong’s office. Please return the
form by TODAY. No deposit is required yet.
The tour includes visits to 11 colleges in 5 days
and also a visit to Great America Amusement
Park. See Mr. Fong for details.
9. ANNUAL BLOOD DRIVE:
Our annual blood drive will be held on Friday, April
15th, from 7am to 2:30pm, where there will be a
Blood Mobile setup here on campus.
You may donate blood if you are 18 years of age as
of April 15th, or 17 years of age with a parent’s
signature. Please see Mrs. Sutter in Rm. A320 to
sign up.
10. CLUB MED:
We are looking for volunteers to help with
Handicapped Bowling on Saturday, March 19th,
10:30-12:30pm. This is the Saturday of Spring
Break. The location is Fort Shafter – all paperwork
for the car has to be in order to get on base.
Please let either Mrs. Sutter or Ms. Flynn know if
you can make it by Thursday, March 17th.
11. SHA HULA COMPETITION:
If you are interested in becoming a part of this
year’s hula competition line, please see Kumu Asing
for a consent form. Sacred Hearts Academy will be
returning to the Annual Malia Craver High School
Competition this year after a 5-year break.
There will be an informational meeting tomorrow
from noon to 2pm in the Dance Studio (PAC-2).
Bring a hula skirt, t-shirt, and a notebook and pen.
