5. A Little Information about Me!
I am from Gilbert, WV , but moved to
Pearisburg, VA 12 years ago.
I have been married for 11 years. I have
2 daughters and nine grandchildren.
I have been teaching for over 20 years.
I have a M. Ed degree in Curriculum
Instruction: I am currently working on
my Specialist degree in Educational
Technology
My favorite thing to do is to travel to
National Parks with my husband.
6. What Are You Going to Learn Today
In today’s workshop participants will
◦ Learn how to download and install iTunes
account.
◦ Learn about different Educational Apps and
how to upload them to iPad
◦ How to design and develop and PBL using iPods
and iPad apps.
7. iPad Basic
An iPad is a tablet designed by the late CEO of
Apple Steve Jobs. The tablet is a small computer
that makes learning fun in so many different
ways. It is primarily used as a platform for
audio – visual media. An iPad runs the same
operating system as the iPod Touch that is why
the lesson are interchangeable.

9. Today we are going to learn how to take and
iPad and turn it into a classroom tool in which
you can make a Project Based Learning
Lesson.
In this next part we are going to watch a 18
minute video on Learning in Hand and
developing a Project Based Learning Lesson.
11. Your Assignment
Today your group will create a Mini PBL
lesson. Please use the information on your
handouts and the information from the
videos.
You will have to design the lesson from a
sixth grade objective of your choosing.
You will have one hour to work within your
group to complete this assignment.
Upon completing your assignment you will
choose a teacher from your group to present
the lesson to the workshop.
Please review your rubric in your handouts to
ensure you meet all components..
