Herpes zoster usually affects middle-aged individuals who are immunocompromised by virtue of comor-bidity. Sensory complications are common aftermath. However, motor complications are rare. Postherpetic paresisleading to pseudo hernia is a rare complication. History of herpes zoster followed by the development of a bulge isdiagnostic of a pseudo hernia. Computed tomography is essential to confirm the normalcy of the body wall and rule outany defect or mass. Treatment is conservative aimed at treating the viral infection and its sensory sequelae. Awareness ofthis rare condition is essential to avoid futile investigations and unindicated surgical intervention
