2. God’s Plan
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for
you declares the LORD. They
are plans to prosper and not to
harm you. They are plans to
give you hope and a future.
11. Our Choice
Deuteronomy 30:19
Today I have given you the choice between life
and death, between blessing and curses. Now I
call on heaven and earth to witness the choice that
you make.
Oh that you would choose life so that you and
your descendants might live!
12. Our Choice
Why is it so
hard for us to
choose life?
13. The Effect of Sin (Romans 7: 14-20)
14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual,
sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do.
For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16
And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is
good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is
sin living in me. 18 I know that nothing good lives in me,
that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what
is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For what I do is not the
good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-this I
keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is
no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
14. The Effect of Sin (Romans 7: 21-25)
21 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is
right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in
God's law; 23 but I see another law at work in the
members of my body, waging war against the law of my
mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work
within my members. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who
will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to
God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in
the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
15. Choose to be mature
Warning Against Falling Away
11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain
because you are slow to learn. 12 In fact, though by this
time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach
you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You
need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk,
being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching
about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature,
who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish
good from evil.
Hebrews 5:11-14
16. How do we become mature
• Ephesians 1:3
• Every spiritual gift is ours
• 1 Corinthians 11:1
• We need to follow the example of Christ, so that others can follow
our example.
• 2 Timothy 2:15
• Study to show yourself approved
17. Make disciples
• Matthew 28:19-20
• To make disciples,
• We need to be disciplined in the ways of the LORD
• We need to be teachable
• Hosea 4:6 You priests have rejected me, and my people are
destroyed by refusing to obey. Now I'll reject you and forget
your children, because you have forgotten my Law.
• Jesus was the ultimate disciple
• John 5:19
• John 7:16
• John 8:26
• Etc.
18. Training Your Child
6Train a child in the way
he should go, and when
he is old he will not turn
from it.
Proverbs 22:6
19. Train your Child
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength. 6 These
commandments that I give you today are to be upon your
hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them
when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as
symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 Write them on the door-frames of your houses and on
your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
20. Train up Your child
If you don’t take up that responsibility, someone else will.
Sigmund Freud, renowned Psychologist, said that most of
our troubles, which we experience as adults, can be traced
back to our childhood.
If you are not influencing your child, who is?
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and
destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to
the full.
22. Tips for home
• God has a plan
• Pray and ask God for guidance as to how to lead your child.
• We need to be mature and disciplined so that our children
can become mature and disciplined in the ways of the
LORD
• Parents need to be a team
• Do not be unequally yoked
• Share the message that God has given you concerning your child
to your spouse
• You are God’s representative
• Declare God’s word over your Children
23. Proclamation for my children
Jeremiah 31:16-17
16 But I, the LORD, say to dry your
tears. Someday your children will come
home from the enemy's land. Then all
you have done for them will be greatly
rewarded. 17 So don't lose hope. I, the
LORD, have spoken.

make them successful.

blesses all who do right.

write my name on the back of their hands.

those who attacked it will retreat and leave.
25But the LORD has promised to fight on our side and to
rescue our children from those strong and violent enemies.
28. Proclamation for my children

promise to give you my Spirit and my
message. These will be my gifts to you
and your families forever. I, the LORD,
have spoken.”
29. Proclamation for my children

17The LORD is always kind to
those who worship him, and he
keeps his promises to their
descendants
30. Proclamation for my children
Heavenly father,
I thank You for Your Word concerning my children.
It says, my work will be rewarded and my children
will return from the land of the enemy.
You promised You would be their Teacher, that
they would walk in your peace. Because I delight
in your commandments, You said my children will
enjoy Your blessing day by day.
31. Proclamation for my children
You promised You would pour out Your Spirit
on my descendants, You blessing on my
offspring and that someday they will say, “I
am the Lord’s”.
You said that you’d never forget them,
because their names are engraved on the
palms of Your hands and that You would
destroy anything that tries to destroy them.
32. Proclamation for my children
Father, You promised to save my
children, and I claim it. Lord, You said
that Your Spirit, which is on me, and
Your Words, which You have put in my
mouth, would not depart from my
mouth or the mouth of my children or
my children’s children and that Your
everlasting mercy would be upon them.
33. Proclamation for my children
Thank you, Lord, for these precious
promises concerning my children. I
stand on them, claim them and
believe You to bring them to pass
for me.
Amen
