Tuesday “A” Week –Whole class lesson using Basal reading
story- read and work with comp. strategy with that story. 10 mins. of

Wednesday “A” Week – Whole class/individual work on
strategy. 15-20 mins of reading time. Check SOC (last 5 mins.
Kids can booktalk and add to “10 Spot.”)
Thursday “A” Week
Kids either begin comp. strategy with novels or
continue with leveled books. Check SOC
Friday “A” Week
Work with leveled books or novels. Check SOC
23. “B” Week
Monday “B” Week – Optional teacher booktalks, vocabulary
lesson, reteach “A” week comprehension lesson as needed. Check

Tuesday “B” Week – Booktalks, - Begin checking kids grasp of
comprehension strategy in small group format. Kids are reading while I am
meeting with groups. Check SOC
Wednesday “B” Week – Continue to meet with small groups on
comprehension skill. Reading time provided. Check SOC

Finish meeting with all kids. Give end of unit reading
