2. Logging in
• You can log in to your student email
anywhere you have Internet access.
• Look for the envelope icon on any
school/district website.
• Click on Student Email and a login
box will appear.
3. Your district username
• First letter of your first name
• First five letters of your last name
• Last four digits of your lunch number (ID number)
Your password
• Your birth date
• Use mmddyy format
If your birthday is February 2nd, 2004, your password
would be 020204.
4. Once you’ve logged into your email, you
will need to change your password to
something you can remember. (See
handout for instructions.)
Never give out your new password to
anyone! You are responsible for
anything sent from your email account!
If you forget your new password, your
teacher can reset it to your birth date.
5. Never use all capital letters.
Don’t write anything you wouldn’t say
in school.
Never send threatening email to other
people.
Always fill in the subject line in your
email.
Use email as an opportunity to
practice your writing skills!
6. When you use email, you agree to the following:
I will not use email to bully, harass, or threaten
other students or individuals.
I understand that email is provided to me by the
district and is district property. The district
reserves the right to access a student’s email
account at any time if misuse is suspected.
I understand that my email account is filtered and
that any message written containing
inappropriate language or content will not be
delivered.
7. Any student who violates
Acceptable Use terms and
conditions may have his/her
email account disabled.
Please be sure that all
communication is appropriate.
8. Protect yourself when online and using email!
Change your email password as soon as you get your
email account.
Never give your password out to anyone.
Never give out personal information over email.
Make sure you log out when you finish using your
email account.
Do not open an email from someone you don’t know.
Remember, your Greenville County email account is
monitored.
Tell your teachers/parents if someone sends you
something that makes you feel uncomfortable.
9. You can use your district username and
password to log onto computers and save to your
own H: drive!
You can login to the library catalog (Destiny
Quest) and connect with friends, create books
lists, and rate and review the books you read!
You can login to Overdrive and check out
audiobooks and eBooks with your district
username and password!
