E-learning wont instantly transform your students into scholars.
Instructional Design is KEY Good e-learning that is "blended" requires that the classroom courses need to be redesigned. Good e-learning also requires good online facilitation and communication skills from the teacher  control synchronous discussion and write good instructions.
Potentials for Students Use of new technologies  Increase student engagement Prepare themselves before coming to class Collaborative projects (presentations, reports, research) Students work with digital information
Potentials for Students Self-evaluation (e-portfolios, journals, blogs) personal discussions (with teacher, classmates) peer tutoring / peer to peer communication class website available (schedules, materials, activities multiple options for learning Additional References immediate feedback and evaluation of progress
Potentials for Teachers use of new technologies  personal discussions with students or other teachers sharing of materials among teachers (teacher- teacher collaboration) reusable content, resources, media

Tendency is to associate all e-learning activities / concepts to what moodle offers.  Other media can be brought in to moodle (embed)  RSS Feeds, YouTube, SlideShare, Flash
You may not even be using all tools moodle offers Some work for your subject area, some dont
Myth 05 E-learning takes a "one-size-fits-all” approach
Myth 06 E-Learning is time consuming to create
