1. Obesity is abnormal or excessive fat accumulation
that may impair health.
In 2008. Over 1.4 billion adults ages 20 and older are
overweight. 200 million are men and 300 million are
women.
65% of the worlds population live in countries where
obesity kills more people than underweight.
Low and Middle class people are more likely to be
obese than rich people.
There are more women than men who are obese.
While there are more than 40 million under the age of
5 obese as well.

3. Have a healthy snack bar as you come down
the lunch room line.
We will work with the principal and the lunch
room committee.
It will give them a more variety of healthy
choices.
4. Will make this happen by talking to the
principal so that we can put things into
action.
They will monitor this by seeing how much
healthy food they have left over.
We will be addressing healthy eating habits
because most students choose to eat the
unhealthy foods rather than the healthy
foods.
5. The vending machines are redesigned to
solely sell healthy snacks that fit the
nutritional requirements of a student.
The wellness team will work together with
vendors and principals to implement the
vending machines.
Healthier vending machines will provide
healthy snacks that properly provide nutrition
and energy opposed to unhealthy chips and
candy.
6. The vendors can provide an inventory of the
sales which the wellness team can assess the
success of the vendor.
Physical wellness is the importance behind
the healthier vending machines. Healthy
snacks will lead to a healthier diet.
7. Make it mandatory that students have a 10
minutes exercise break in class.
The Youth Wellness Teams will work with the
principal and the class room teachers.
It will break the students out of their
tiredness and make them more focused on
what going on in class/ more active.
8. They will monitor this by having a designated
bell that rings to remind them to take this
break and become part of their daily routine.
This is addressing physical well and we are
addressing this because a lot of students
have a lack of exercise.
