  6. -Located on Johor-Pahang border. -The second largest National Park in Penisular Malaysia. -The one of the world's oldest rainforest. -It covers an area of 870 square kilometers. • Located at United States • located in southeast Utah • The area of the Arches National Park is 310.3 square kilometres
  7. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

ENDAU-ROMPIN NATIONAL PARK Endau-­‐Rompin  National  Park  іs  the  second  largest  national  park  іn  Peninsular   Malaysia.   • It  is  called  home  by  the  Jakun,  which  is  the  major  tribe  of  Orang  Asli. It  contains:   • One  оf  the  world's  oldest  rainforests.   • Volcanic  rocks  from  about  240  million  years  ago.     • Sоme  оf  Malaysia's  best  natural  waterfalls. Іts  name  іs  derived  frоm  the  twо  rivers  through  the  park:     • the  Endau  river  in  Johor,  in  the  south.   • the  Rompin  river  іn  Pahang,  іn  the  north.
  9. • 1892,  miner  and  surveyor  H.W.Lake  and  Lieutenant  H.J.Kelsall  entered  the  Endau-­‐ Rompin  area  to  regulate  scientific  research  and  documentation.     ! • They  recorded  and  collected  infinite  specimens  from  the  area  and  noted  a  healthy   number  of  large  animals  such  as  elephants,  the  Sumatran  rhinoceros  and  deer  passing   over  the  area.   ! • 1933,  with  the  help  of  Lake  and  Kelsall’s  documentation  of  the  area  and  its  flora  and   fauna,  Endau-­‐Kluang  area  was  proclaimed  as  a  forest  reserve.   ! • 1972,  the  reserve  was  further  expanded  to  comprise  an  area  within  the  Lesong   Forest  Reserve  in  Pahang.     ! • 1985-­‐1986,  a  scientific  expedition  identified  25  new  species  of  plants  within   the  area.   ! • After  years  of  conflicts,  the  Johor  government  finally  established  this  Endau   Rompin  National  Park  in  1980s.

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK 1.The  first  humans  to  inhabit  Arches  NaUonal  Park  were  hunter-­‐gatherers  that  came   to  the  area  to  make  tools  like  knives,  darts,  scrapers  and  spearpoints  from  the   microcrystalline  quartz  commonly  found  in  the  region.   ! 2.Eventually  these  paleolithic  forebears  would  come  to  pracUce  agriculture,   culKvaKng  crops  like  beans,  squash  and  corn  in  the  arid  soil.   ! 3.These  agrarian  socieUes  would  develop  into  the  Ancestral  Puebloan  and  Fremont   cultures,  which  were  prevalent  throughout  the  southwest  unUl  about  700  years   ago.

  14. • Various  kinds  of  flora  and  fauna  can  be   found  at  the  nearby  hills  in  Endau-­‐ Rompin  National  Park.   • The  most  spectacular  things  in  the  park   is  a  fan  palm  species,  it  named   Livistona  Endauensis. Rainy Season ENDAU ROMPIN NATIONAL PARK
  15. • More than 2000 natural arches,including world famous delicate arch and a natural rock arch. • Here is one of the world’s largest natural sandstone arch centrally. • Smallest ( 3 feet) Largest ( 306 feet) • The main attractions: • Delicate arch-Experience wind and rain erosion for a long time did no collapse,it is also one of the major landmarks in Utah. • Balanced Rock-Product is equivalent to three school bus stand at the top of the rock. • Double Arch-Two of the same size arch. • Landscape Arch-Is the longest arch in the park. • Devil’s Garden-Is famous for spreading the arch. COMPARISON Endau Rompin National Park Arches National Park ▪Located at the north of Johor. ▪Located at the eastern Utah. ▪It established on 8 September 1892. ▪It established on 12 November 1971. ▪Only have two until four recreational activities at here such as camping,waterfall and swimming pool. ▪Many kinds of recreational activities sush as climbing,biking,hiking,camping and so on. ▪Not used as a biblical firm. ▪Used as a filming locations for biblical firm.
