Prefabricated Vertical Drain
PVD takes the lead in soil consolidation
• Drain developed with more than 30 years of
experience in soil consolidation
• Approx. 300 mio linear metres of PVD
installed worldwide
• PVDwork backed-up by extensive
studies and testing by renowned institutes
(e.g. Delft Geotechnics, Geosytec)
Functions
• Forms a path for excess pore-water created by
the overburden, water is drained off to the
surface resulting in a stale subgrade on which
construction can take place.
• Reduces consolidation time of soft soils
significantly, which result in substantial cost
savings

• 10 cm wide with a solid polymer core covered on
both sides with a strong & permeable filter fabric
• Outer filter fabricate bonded to the core over its
entire surface to form a homogeneous
geocomposite product
• Unique patented hydraulically-designed core for
maximum water flow capacity

INSTALLATION
• A purpose-built installation rig mounted on a
hydraulic excavator is usually used to install
PVD.
• The Height of rig is equal to the istallation
depth of PVD.

PVD Prefabricated Vertical Drain Installation Benefits

  • 2. PVD takes the lead in soil consolidation • Drain developed with more than 30 years of experience in soil consolidation • Approx. 300 mio linear metres of PVD installed worldwide • PVDwork backed-up by extensive studies and testing by renowned institutes (e.g. Delft Geotechnics, Geosytec)
  • 3. Functions • Forms a path for excess pore-water created by the overburden, water is drained off to the surface resulting in a stale subgrade on which construction can take place. • Reduces consolidation time of soft soils significantly, which result in substantial cost savings
