  2. 2. What is Great Wall Cup? The Great Wall Cup is an international youth football tournament organized by Beijing Football Association in association with Direct Sports Management. The inaugural tournament kicked off at the Bird’s Nest National Stadium in 2010 with 14 competing teams from 6 different countries across the globe. In 2011, a total of 30 teams competed at the Great Wall Cup including 14 international teams from the likes of Brazil, Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Mexico and Russia. 2

  4. 4. Media Attention & Public Image The 1st event kicked off at the Bird Nest National Stadium in 2010 with limited media exposures.
