Search Options • Core search module • Contrib modules • ASU Google Search Appliance
Out of the box • Enable the Search module • Setup cron • Party like it’s 1999
Apache Solr • Lucene-based • Pros: One of the best search indexing tools; index multiple sites to have a unified search; extremely flexible. • Cons: Highly technical and difficult to setup server; additional hardware / software resources required.
Google Custom Search • Pros: Easy to setup and configure; Google- powered search; lots of behavior data; integrate AdWords. • Cons: Can be inaccurate; doesn’t account for paging; not very “faceted.”
