Horowhenua is about to commence construction of Te Takere, a culture and community centre, incorporating the public library service. A number of other partners are also involved included local iwi and local heritage organisations. This thought piece suggests a framework for designing the service delivery model that will be delivered.
2. WHY?
Te Takere is more than just a library,
It’s a multi-purpose community facility,
a number of partners,
with different kaupapas,
an opportunity to do things differently,
a requirement to do things differently,
We need to move forward together.
3. GAME CHANGER
Te Takere is different
shared facilities
shared resources
shared services
This will impact on
governance
operations
branding and marketing
4. RELATIONSHIP
The partners will need to understand each
other’s visions and aspirations for Te Takere;
we need to know what this relationship is
going to bring to each of us and agree on a
clear set of values.
The result will be a relationship of mutual
respect - an absolute fundamental to go
forward on.
5. FRAMEWORK
One approach to reimagining services for Te Takere
would be to design them on a framework.
