The objective of this essay is to illustrate the meanings behind friendship from different
philosophical perspectives, such as Aristotle's and Mary Healy's, (2016). I will be differentiating the
types of friendships such as best friend relationships, colleagues and exploring the positive and
negative aspects of friendship, as well as the possible strategies schools should implement to
encourage friendships in academic settings.
Friendship is a mutual bond between two or more humans requiring emotional vulnerability and
support, therefore "one cannot be a friends in isolation" (Healy, 2016) Friendship can also be
defined as a "curious relationship" (Healy, 2011:443) because it is comprehended as noticing
something different in an individual which encourages us to display dedication towards them.
Similarly, for a friendship to work, both individuals must be fully committed in "actively trying to
benefit the other" in which the efforts of receiving and giving are balanced (Healy, 2016:186).
This is achieved by displaying goodwill, where they are constantly supporting, caring and having
mutual respect and empathy for each other's interests and values which shows an inclination "for
wishing [each other] well". (Healy, 2016:186) This demonstrates that friendship is "advantageous
and desirable for both parties" as they would be more considerate of one another's feelings which
would lead to them becoming closer due to a strong sense of belonging.
Furthermore, friendship

Welcome to "New York," where the folks are friendly, the buildings never falter, and all quarrels end
with a quip. Not to be found on the East Coast, this Burbank, California–based "New York" is the
setting of "Friends," the popular situation comedy that first aired on NBC in 1994. With roughly
sixteen million households tuning in each week, not to mention syndication of re–runs, "Friends" has
become a cultural icon. "Friends" is more than just a sit–com that begins on Thursday at eight
o'clock and ends at eight–thirty. It is a living, breathing, fictional reality like a second home that
isn't lived in, but lived through. Many viewers talk about the characters on "Friends" as if they were,

Although "Friends" offers its viewers such enjoyment, its viewers must be mindful that its portrayal
of attractive, Caucasian, slim young adults who use coarse, sexual, and objectionable language also
makes "Friends" a show that can subtly promotes unhealthy, unrealistic, and unobtainable ideals. Is it
worth watching?
Before critiquing the more problematic aspects of "Friends," one must understand what makes the
show such a success. Enter Central Perk, the coffee shop that our six friends (Jennifer Aniston as
Rachel Green, Courtney Cox Arquette as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt
LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, and David Schwimmer as Ross Geller)
regularly frequent. It is the seventeenth episode of the sixth season, but it doesn't matter if you're
an avid "Friends" viewer or a novice who has never seen the show. You will still laugh. Ross and
Joey are sitting on a couch as Phoebe and Rachel enter wearing workout clothes. They greet each
other warmly and the dialogue begins:
Ross: Hey, what have you guys been up to?
Phoebe: Ohh! We went to a self–defense class today!
Ross: Wow!
Rachel: Yeah, kicking a guy in the crotch all morning really takes it out of ya!
Joey: Takes it out of you? (Laughs.)

Friendship Essay: What Makes A Good Friend?
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times
are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings
of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example,
when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on.
According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your
back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her
support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and
starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in...show more content...
You want friends that show they care and do not resent your achievements. A good friend sees
good in your accomplishments; because of this they will not want you to do poorly and will
always be looking out for you, hoping you do your best. A trustworthy friend is someone you can
count on no matter what. They are someone you can call in the middle of the night and vent to, or
just talk. They are someone who, if they say they are going to do something, they do it and don't
bail out. Good friends are people with whom you can talk to and trust with your secrets. You can
tell a friend anything and know they won't open their mouth just for the fun of it because they
like and respect you too much to hurt you. If you have something you feel like you can't tell
anyone about, they are the friends you can tell. A good friend is someone who when you tell
them personal stuff you don't have to worry, you know your secret is safe. Trusted friends are
those you can tell your flaws to and know your revelations are safe. Sometimes after you tell
people certain information you think: "What in the world was I thinking?" but a trustworthy person
won't ever make you feel like that. What is a loyal friend? A loyal friend is someone who never lets
you down. They are someone who does things with you even though these things maybe totally
boring, but they still do them. Loyal friends won't back out at the last second. They stick with

Descriptive Essay About Friends
I was a sophomore in High School, Ellen was a freshman and by the beginning of the calendar
year, we were wildly popular, it seemed as if every freshman and sophomore on campus knew
who we were. We often dressed alike, something we retained from when we were children and our
mother clothed us in the same outfits, we teased our hair up in bouffant styles, wore heaps of
mascara, and eyeliner artistically drawing little wings in the corner of our eyes. My sister and I
were part of the in–crowd and fashionably trendy.
Our circle of friends was a diverse group of classmates; Ellen had her freshman friends and I had my
sophomore friends, however, our closest, bosom–buddy friends, were three long–haired individuals
named Allen, Adrian and Glenn. For some reason, we enjoyed their company and spent most of
our time with these lost souls. All our classmates knew that the five of us were best friends. At
lunch, we met at the school entrance, walked to the Diner at Walgreens together, ordered
whatever the five of us combined, could afford; a few servings of French Fries; two or three
hamburgers, a couple of sodas which we shared among us, as we whiled away the lunch hour,
solving the teenage problems of the world. I will never, ever, in a million years forget my sixteenth
birthday when Ellen, Allen, Adrian and Glenn arranged to have a professional photo taken as a
surprise gift for me. Wearing complimenting outfits in greens and blues, they looked like a famous
rock band.

My Experience With My Friends
Growing up I could identify my friends whom I found to be more sensitive, friendly and
imaginative. These were the friends that I could turn to when I had a problem I needed to talk
through or someone who was sincere and honest in their advice while being mindful of my
feelings. I could also identify with these friends because I have always been one to make sure
everyone else is taken care of before myself. These "blues" are the most genuine people I have met
throughout life, but I have also found in my classroom. Just three days ago, one of my students
answered a question that normally does not volunteer to participate. He answered correctly and his
fellow peer whom he is not within the same social circle could not be more proud of him. She was
astonished and proud of his answer and continued to whisper (loudly) across the room good job with
her thumbs up until he realized her recognition and smiled back with a thank you. I was so proud to
have this student in my classroom showing such compassion for another student. This generation is
criticized for only thinking of themselves and although not untrue, it is moments like that, that
remind me of how lucky I am to have blues in the classroom. As blues strengths including caring for
others and sharing their emotions are compromised by them feeling hurt or treated unjustly, they
take it personally. It's important to reassure and validate their feelings. Lastly are the students who
carefully analyze my words, actions,

The Importance of Friendship Essay
Do you remember your very first friend? Do you remember his or her name? Do you remember
how you became friends? Perhaps it was a neighborhood friend, or the kid sitting next to you in
school. Maybe it was your cousin, or your cousin's neighbor. Maybe it was someone you met at
church, or scouts, or camp, or daycare. Perhaps it was babysitter, a nanny, or a teacher. Or maybe
it was your brother, your sister, your half brother or your half sister. Regardless of how you met
your very first friend, you'll never forget him or her. My first friend?s name was Danny, and he was
a neighborhood friend. Danny lived down the street, and we used to hang out after school. On
Saturdays, we played at each others houses, we played outside,...show more content...
Trust, loyalty, truthfulness, protection and integrity, all of these things stem fromfriendship. Without
it, a friendship can be destroyed. Friends help us all, friends are there for us. A good friend is there
for you, he understands you, and you understand him. It?s a mutual relationship.
Where in life would you be without your best friends? I know that I would be pretty lost, fairly
confused, and I would have a very difficult time communicating with others. Trust would be an
issue, how could I trust another human being if I had never done it before? Aside from parents and
loved ones, friends teach us that strangers can turn unto trustworthy individuals. Friendship is very
important in life. If I didn?t have my friends that I had growing up, I would be a very different
person today.
Friendship often derives from a common sharing of an interest, usually this sharing is done by two
individuals participating in these common activities together. This bond often enhances the activity,
and can create joy for both of the participants. What?s that entirely mean? Well, basically it says that
doing something fun alone is fun, but doing something fun with someone else, who is having fun, is
much much better. And that is my point, friends make life better. Friends make activities in life
more enjoyable. Most of all, friends make life?life.
Protection, do you ever wonder why animals travel in herds? Or why

Essay On Online Friends
Online friends or friends in reality? When time gets rough, will those friends on the internet be
there for you? There is an argument based on whether it is possible to make friends through the
internet. I disagree with the idea that you can make real friends on the internet because you never
know who you're talking to, it is hard to make lasting friendships online, and it can also hinder the
way you make friends outside of the internet. However, many can say otherwise, stating that it can
make people more social and build lasting friendships.
We all know that you never know who you're talking to online. Anonymity can be helpful towards
yourself in some ways but when others refuse to share their identity, it becomes an issue. You
couldn't possibly know who that person can really be. They might say they're around your age but
in reality, they could be years older than you, trying to lure you out to meet with them which is
potentially dangerous as you can presume the worse. For example, "If you are dealing with someone
who isn't forthcoming about their identity, you don't know his or her motive for doing so (Arthur, pg
27)." However, those friendships won't last you that long.
As said before, it is very hard to make friendships last online. You might think you've met someone
who you think you have a connection with and the friendship might last a couple weeks, but that
person could easily ghost you as they might not be interested in your friendship anymore. It is the fact

Friendship is weird. You select random strangers that have similar personality traits as you and then
give them affection and plan activities that involves the other person. But before you were friends
you were strangers – if you were to never cross paths or judged them the wrong way right off the bat
– where would you be. My life has been affected in a way I will never really know why or how but it
all started with my next door neighbor. In fair Noblesville, Indiana is where we set our scene. Two
hopeful parents who wish for their daughters of year 3 to be friends – okay enough of this, let's get
to the story. New neighbors had just moved into a newly developed area 2 doors down from us.
They had a little girl named Haley who was my age. My mom, having no friends in the area, had
her mind set on making friends with that neighbor. She went over to the house and arranged a
playdate with Haley for me. When we got there the parents took their adult sippy cups outside and
left me alone with Haley. WIth her blue eyes and blonde hair she looked like Cinderella – I already
knew I wasn't going to like this girl. I'll save you the rest of the details, but the playdate did not go
well. .... The first day of Preschool came around and it just so happens that the Cinderbitch was in
my class. Our moms – still fruitlessly attempting to get us to be friends – dropped us off and made
us walk into preschool together. Then, to make matters worse, they made us take at least 1000

Since September 22nd, 1994 Friends has been one of the most popular shows among both old and
young viewers. Friends is a TV comedy series that follows a group of best friends living in the
Manhattan, New York. Over the course of the series the characters go through all sorts of life events
surrounding jobs, family, marriage, and they face it all together. Through all the laughs, cries, fights,
and surprises, they not only find themselves but what it means to be a true friend.
Friends has passed the test of time, continuing to stay popular throughout the 23 years it has been on
television, despite the cease in production of episodes. Not only has my mom seen every single
episode of Friends, but so has my grandmother. This one of the many reasons I love the show. I
could talk about it with my own friends and I can also talk about it with my family and they will
know what I'm talking about. I could reference a line or certain part of the show and almost
everyone would understand what I am referencing. Another thing I love about the show is how
funny it is. Whether its Chandlers stupid humor, joey's "how you doin?", or the infamous "we
were on a break" fight, I know if I watch Friends I will always get a good laugh. I have seen the
whole series at least 3 times and it still gets funnier every time.
One of the best parts about the show is being able to see how each of the characters develop and
change over the course of the show. When the show begins they are all just starting

Friendship is very important. With friends in life, rough situations may become bearable and false
decisions may turn back into the right decision. Yet sadly, the world is not perfect and it is
corrupted by sin. Human used friendship in a selfish manner. Instead of helping each other, some
used friendship to obtain their own goal or mislead their so called friend. This is not how friendship
supposed to be. In the book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi, readers could see
how important friendship is and how it should be. In Nabeel Qureshi's life, his friendship with
David helped him started his Christian conversion and aided him along the way. Before Qureshi met
David, he thought that Christianity is wrong and Allah is the only god. After Qureshi saw David
read the Bible on his free time, the author asked David if he knew that the Bible was not reliable.
For a devout Christian, hearing others blatantly said that the Bible is completely corrupted is a big
shock. Instead of getting angry at Qureshi, David just smiled and calmly handled the conversation.
Qureshi mentioned that it was rather surprising how calm David was because "people were usually
caught more off guard" (126).
Instead of lashing out on Qureshi for his disagreement, David calmly showed him the errors in his
thinking in a respectful way. This is how friends should help each other. After Qureshi did multiple
researches to prove that the Bible and the whole belief of Christianity is wrong, David did

Friendship As A Small Group Of Friends
Friendship in Life Since I can remember I have always been a girl with a small group of friends. In
my school years I would usually hang out with only 2–3 girls in my classroom, and it has always
been that way ever since. I'm a very shy and quiet person; for that reason I've always preferred a
small group of friends. Throughout the years, I've lost some friends on the way but I have also kept
some good friends, and refer them more as best friends. Friendship has become a big part of my life,
and it has taught me what friendship really is and who has been my real friends. Once I
graduated from high school, I moved to Racine WI, to attend college and continue working as a
waitress in a Mexican restaurant. Thanks to that job, I met a girl that till this day has been a
great friend; I can honestly say she's like a sister to me. At first, we would just work together a
couple times a week, but later on we began hanging out together outside of work. When that
started, I just began to trust her more and learned a lot from her in how she is. Since I met her,
she's the type of girl who can easily be talked to, she would get you comfortable talking to her and
she would always make you laugh at the moment you meet her. She's very outgoing girls who even
though we have been through a lot together we have managed to still continue being great friends.
After knowing her for a couple years we became closer and closer, we have our differences, but we
have learned a lot from each other.

There are a lot of important things in life. However, one of the most important things for people
to survive in this world is friendship. Without friendship, people can die of loneliness. What do
you think about your friends? Do you like your friends? There are a lot of different types of
friends. There are friends that I like and some friends with whom I do not get along. Friends with
positive characteristics such as reliable, trustworthy and faithful whom I usually get along with are
the one that tend to have more friends and the negative one whom I usually not get along with tend

better. Being an overconfident person is also beneficial, as we won't get nervous easily and our
performances will be better. This kind of person isn't scared to take some risks as they have trust
and confidence in themselves. This kind of person has potential to be a really successful person in
the future. I have a friend that is really confident that when he performed for a speech competition at
school, he can speak fluently without any hesitation that made him the winner of the competition.
We can learn a lot from this kind of person. I learn that correct proportion of something, even the
thing we take as something bad, before, can turn into something good. We have to be able to
measure how confident we can be while with friends and when the confidence is really needed.
Being a competitive person can be advantageous, as this kind of person wants to be the best in
everything. As they want to be the best in everything, they will work and study harder than any
other people. They will try as hard as they can to be the best. As a result, they will get good marks
on test or get an extremely good job in the future. It is beneficial for them. For Example: I know
that being a competitive person can be advantageous as I have a friend that is competitive. She is
so competitive that in every test, she will study as hard as she can. In every test, she managed to get

Persuasive Essay About Friendship
When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in
my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It
always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely
socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most
successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy
accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of
friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a
part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to
the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or
positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits
and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one
person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills,
but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep
sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking
and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on
mutual benefits, but

Argumentative Essay On Friendship
We are all now connected by the internet, like neurons in a giant brain – Stephen Hawking. Social
media has provided us with various lines of connection. Never before have the emotions and
musings of other individuals been more accessible to the rest of the population; we have access to
original theories, prose, and art without having paid, in many cases, a cent in exchange for that
accessibility. I would never argue that this form of connection is meaningless; nevertheless, I do
believe that it is not the most significant form of association. Humans have a need, just as any other
mammal, to interact with others of their kind in order to evolve individually into socially capable
beings. Social media sites have greatly influenced the form by which we manage to meet these
needs, and has proven to have several negative aspects.
Having online friends has rapidly become a 'norm' in society, and multitudes of people argue that
without social media these masses of people from different countries and even continents would not
be able to meet. While this is definitely a valid point, it is also crucial to consider that in a majority
of these friendships only the 'positive qualities' about a person are interchanged in "conversation".
What does this mean? It means that like any rational person, people online tend to work diligently
on their profiles in order to make an amazing first impression; the difference between face to face
and online relationships is that when you form a

Having a friendship with someone since you were little is amazing, the bond you form with that
person like a never–ending comforter and someone to always trust and confide in. The day I
moved into the new house and went to see the neighborhood, I knew we would always be close.
Owen and I grew closer every day, quickly becoming the best of friends, and at the time, nothing
was better than having a best friend. Through our awkward years, multiple friend groups coming
and going, the harsh words and the hate from other people, we were always there for each other; he
had my back and I his. Living in the moment and cherishing the things you have while you have
them is one of the most important things in life because you never know when it can all be taken

It was during the eleventh–grade summer that everything changed. The daily talks, sleepovers, and
coming to each other about everything all hindered. Eye contact and smiles were turned to scowling,
pointing, and laughing with the hierarchy of all groups. Being friends with him for so long and
eventually developing feelings that exceeded a friendship, and then just being dropped with no
warning and not having a clue why was heart–wrenching and confusing. The day of the pep–rally I
finally thought that this one–sided feud would be stopped and that we could rekindle our lost
friendship, but I could never be more wrong. Many side glances, smirks, and winks were made, but
none with the loving intent that they used to hold.

What is a friend? A friend is someone who supports you, sympathizes with you, or patronizes a

after graduating from places like high school or college? Just imagine walking across the stage

A friendship can be everlasting depending on the personalities in that relationship. Sometimes
personalities can change for the good the bad in many friendships. You can never change a
person through a friendship. Differences can set you apart. The definition of a friend has
changed over the years therefore that could be a contributing factor to why we can count our
friend on one hand. Think about it! When separating from friends for a while physically values
and beliefs start to change. Many may argue that is not true, but I will say I have lost many
friends do to personality changes and belief. Some reasons maybe be because everyone in college
likes to smoke and drink. I am not a fan of either which I believe is gross so I drop many friends
due to that reason. I have also lost a lot of friends due to the ways they act towards me or others
when different people are around. In the urban world we call that being "fake." Fake is another
way of saying you aren't what you claim to be. You don't stay true to yourself and totally honest.
On the other side people can change for the good to help each other in a friendship. Friendships
can gain trust through one another in due to the people you are around. In a relationship trust is
being able tell a secret under confidence to other people hoping they wont tell. If you gain some

Do you have friends? Most likely, you answered yes, but I'm asking do you have "true friends"? I

Friends are the pearls of our life. This word bears its great meaning only to those who could
understand the greatness of its meaning. Its some thing sacred, it needs to be cherished and build
up for many years with much care. Goran Stojanov once said, "One should always take care when
making a choice of a friend–as the friends are the ones you pick by yourself." My opinion is a bit
different than Gorans, I prefer to say, "Friends come and go, but with the precious few we shall

there is little more than picking a part. Making Friends is the process, which is a very unique one. It

So never hurt the ones you love, watch what you will say.
There are many different types of friends and most of them can be placed into one of several
categories: closeness friends, party friends, work and school friends and the best friend.
The first type of friends, compared to the others types are the less valuable. This doesn't mean that
they are not good. They are parts of our everyday life. They are the ones who will help us to notice
some thing good. For instance, our new hair cut, they are the ones, which will turn our day from
ordinary to special. Closeness, they may be in the moment but you never know how close will they
become in the future.
Second type, party friends, friends with whom we are spending the best time in our day. So they
are special, maybe not the closest but like others worth of respect. For me they have super powers.
They are able to change our mood, positively. They are representing us in the best positive way.
Thru them we could meet new persons, which may become our good friends. They are the ones who
are all night beside us. Sharing every thing that is good with us.
The third type, work and school friends. Functioning in any kind of institution with out friends is
absolutely not possible. Not because that we need help, but we need to spend our time with some
body. They make us to fell that we belong in some group, that we have

Essay About Friends

  • 1. The objective of this essay is to illustrate the meanings behind friendship from different philosophical perspectives, such as Aristotle's and Mary Healy's, (2016). I will be differentiating the types of friendships such as best friend relationships, colleagues and exploring the positive and negative aspects of friendship, as well as the possible strategies schools should implement to encourage friendships in academic settings. Friendship is a mutual bond between two or more humans requiring emotional vulnerability and support, therefore "one cannot be a friends in isolation" (Healy, 2016) Friendship can also be defined as a "curious relationship" (Healy, 2011:443) because it is comprehended as noticing something different in an individual which encourages us to display dedication towards them. Similarly, for a friendship to work, both individuals must be fully committed in "actively trying to beneп¬Ѓt the other" in which the efforts of receiving and giving are balanced (Healy, 2016:186). This is achieved by displaying goodwill, where they are constantly supporting, caring and having mutual respect and empathy for each other's interests and values which shows an inclination "for wishing [each other] well". (Healy, 2016:186) This demonstrates that friendship is "advantageous and desirable for both parties" as they would be more considerate of one another's feelings which would lead to them becoming closer due to a strong sense of belonging. Furthermore, friendship Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Friends Essay Friends Welcome to "New York," where the folks are friendly, the buildings never falter, and all quarrels end with a quip. Not to be found on the East Coast, this Burbank, California–based "New York" is the setting of "Friends," the popular situation comedy that first aired on NBC in 1994. With roughly sixteen million households tuning in each week, not to mention syndication of re–runs, "Friends" has become a cultural icon. "Friends" is more than just a sit–com that begins on Thursday at eight o'clock and ends at eight–thirty. It is a living, breathing, fictional reality like a second home that isn't lived in, but lived through. Many viewers talk about the characters on "Friends" as if they were, in fact, close personal...show more content... Although "Friends" offers its viewers such enjoyment, its viewers must be mindful that its portrayal of attractive, Caucasian, slim young adults who use coarse, sexual, and objectionable language also makes "Friends" a show that can subtly promotes unhealthy, unrealistic, and unobtainable ideals. Is it worth watching? Before critiquing the more problematic aspects of "Friends," one must understand what makes the show such a success. Enter Central Perk, the coffee shop that our six friends (Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, Courtney Cox Arquette as Monica Geller, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe Buffay, Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry as Chandler Bing, and David Schwimmer as Ross Geller) regularly frequent. It is the seventeenth episode of the sixth season, but it doesn't matter if you're an avid "Friends" viewer or a novice who has never seen the show. You will still laugh. Ross and Joey are sitting on a couch as Phoebe and Rachel enter wearing workout clothes. They greet each other warmly and the dialogue begins: Ross: Hey, what have you guys been up to? Phoebe: Ohh! We went to a self–defense class today! Ross: Wow! Rachel: Yeah, kicking a guy in the crotch all morning really takes it out of ya! Joey: Takes it out of you? (Laughs.) Rachel's lively candor is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Friendship Essay: What Makes A Good Friend? A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in...show more content... You want friends that show they care and do not resent your achievements. A good friend sees good in your accomplishments; because of this they will not want you to do poorly and will always be looking out for you, hoping you do your best. A trustworthy friend is someone you can count on no matter what. They are someone you can call in the middle of the night and vent to, or just talk. They are someone who, if they say they are going to do something, they do it and don't bail out. Good friends are people with whom you can talk to and trust with your secrets. You can tell a friend anything and know they won't open their mouth just for the fun of it because they like and respect you too much to hurt you. If you have something you feel like you can't tell anyone about, they are the friends you can tell. A good friend is someone who when you tell them personal stuff you don't have to worry, you know your secret is safe. Trusted friends are those you can tell your flaws to and know your revelations are safe. Sometimes after you tell people certain information you think: "What in the world was I thinking?" but a trustworthy person won't ever make you feel like that. What is a loyal friend? A loyal friend is someone who never lets you down. They are someone who does things with you even though these things maybe totally boring, but they still do them. Loyal friends won't back out at the last second. They stick with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay About Friends I was a sophomore in High School, Ellen was a freshman and by the beginning of the calendar year, we were wildly popular, it seemed as if every freshman and sophomore on campus knew who we were. We often dressed alike, something we retained from when we were children and our mother clothed us in the same outfits, we teased our hair up in bouffant styles, wore heaps of mascara, and eyeliner artistically drawing little wings in the corner of our eyes. My sister and I were part of the in–crowd and fashionably trendy. Our circle of friends was a diverse group of classmates; Ellen had her freshman friends and I had my sophomore friends, however, our closest, bosom–buddy friends, were three long–haired individuals named Allen, Adrian and Glenn. For some reason, we enjoyed their company and spent most of our time with these lost souls. All our classmates knew that the five of us were best friends. At lunch, we met at the school entrance, walked to the Diner at Walgreens together, ordered whatever the five of us combined, could afford; a few servings of French Fries; two or three hamburgers, a couple of sodas which we shared among us, as we whiled away the lunch hour, solving the teenage problems of the world. I will never, ever, in a million years forget my sixteenth birthday when Ellen, Allen, Adrian and Glenn arranged to have a professional photo taken as a surprise gift for me. Wearing complimenting outfits in greens and blues, they looked like a famous rock band. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Experience With My Friends Growing up I could identify my friends whom I found to be more sensitive, friendly and imaginative. These were the friends that I could turn to when I had a problem I needed to talk through or someone who was sincere and honest in their advice while being mindful of my feelings. I could also identify with these friends because I have always been one to make sure everyone else is taken care of before myself. These "blues" are the most genuine people I have met throughout life, but I have also found in my classroom. Just three days ago, one of my students answered a question that normally does not volunteer to participate. He answered correctly and his fellow peer whom he is not within the same social circle could not be more proud of him. She was astonished and proud of his answer and continued to whisper (loudly) across the room good job with her thumbs up until he realized her recognition and smiled back with a thank you. I was so proud to have this student in my classroom showing such compassion for another student. This generation is criticized for only thinking of themselves and although not untrue, it is moments like that, that remind me of how lucky I am to have blues in the classroom. As blues strengths including caring for others and sharing their emotions are compromised by them feeling hurt or treated unjustly, they take it personally. It's important to reassure and validate their feelings. Lastly are the students who carefully analyze my words, actions, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Importance of Friendship Essay Do you remember your very first friend? Do you remember his or her name? Do you remember how you became friends? Perhaps it was a neighborhood friend, or the kid sitting next to you in school. Maybe it was your cousin, or your cousin's neighbor. Maybe it was someone you met at church, or scouts, or camp, or daycare. Perhaps it was babysitter, a nanny, or a teacher. Or maybe it was your brother, your sister, your half brother or your half sister. Regardless of how you met your very first friend, you'll never forget him or her. My first friend?s name was Danny, and he was a neighborhood friend. Danny lived down the street, and we used to hang out after school. On Saturdays, we played at each others houses, we played outside,...show more content... Trust, loyalty, truthfulness, protection and integrity, all of these things stem fromfriendship. Without it, a friendship can be destroyed. Friends help us all, friends are there for us. A good friend is there for you, he understands you, and you understand him. It?s a mutual relationship. Where in life would you be without your best friends? I know that I would be pretty lost, fairly confused, and I would have a very difficult time communicating with others. Trust would be an issue, how could I trust another human being if I had never done it before? Aside from parents and loved ones, friends teach us that strangers can turn unto trustworthy individuals. Friendship is very important in life. If I didn?t have my friends that I had growing up, I would be a very different person today. Friendship often derives from a common sharing of an interest, usually this sharing is done by two individuals participating in these common activities together. This bond often enhances the activity, and can create joy for both of the participants. What?s that entirely mean? Well, basically it says that doing something fun alone is fun, but doing something fun with someone else, who is having fun, is much much better. And that is my point, friends make life better. Friends make activities in life more enjoyable. Most of all, friends make life?life. Protection, do you ever wonder why animals travel in herds? Or why Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay On Online Friends Online friends or friends in reality? When time gets rough, will those friends on the internet be there for you? There is an argument based on whether it is possible to make friends through the internet. I disagree with the idea that you can make real friends on the internet because you never know who you're talking to, it is hard to make lasting friendships online, and it can also hinder the way you make friends outside of the internet. However, many can say otherwise, stating that it can make people more social and build lasting friendships. We all know that you never know who you're talking to online. Anonymity can be helpful towards yourself in some ways but when others refuse to share their identity, it becomes an issue. You couldn't possibly know who that person can really be. They might say they're around your age but in reality, they could be years older than you, trying to lure you out to meet with them which is potentially dangerous as you can presume the worse. For example, "If you are dealing with someone who isn't forthcoming about their identity, you don't know his or her motive for doing so (Arthur, pg 27)." However, those friendships won't last you that long. As said before, it is very hard to make friendships last online. You might think you've met someone who you think you have a connection with and the friendship might last a couple weeks, but that person could easily ghost you as they might not be interested in your friendship anymore. It is the fact Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay About Friends Friendship is weird. You select random strangers that have similar personality traits as you and then give them affection and plan activities that involves the other person. But before you were friends you were strangers – if you were to never cross paths or judged them the wrong way right off the bat – where would you be. My life has been affected in a way I will never really know why or how but it all started with my next door neighbor. In fair Noblesville, Indiana is where we set our scene. Two hopeful parents who wish for their daughters of year 3 to be friends – okay enough of this, let's get to the story. New neighbors had just moved into a newly developed area 2 doors down from us. They had a little girl named Haley who was my age. My mom, having no friends in the area, had her mind set on making friends with that neighbor. She went over to the house and arranged a playdate with Haley for me. When we got there the parents took their adult sippy cups outside and left me alone with Haley. WIth her blue eyes and blonde hair she looked like Cinderella – I already knew I wasn't going to like this girl. I'll save you the rest of the details, but the playdate did not go well. .... The first day of Preschool came around and it just so happens that the Cinderbitch was in my class. Our moms – still fruitlessly attempting to get us to be friends – dropped us off and made us walk into preschool together. Then, to make matters worse, they made us take at least 1000 pictures Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About Friends Since September 22nd, 1994 Friends has been one of the most popular shows among both old and young viewers. Friends is a TV comedy series that follows a group of best friends living in the Manhattan, New York. Over the course of the series the characters go through all sorts of life events surrounding jobs, family, marriage, and they face it all together. Through all the laughs, cries, fights, and surprises, they not only find themselves but what it means to be a true friend. Friends has passed the test of time, continuing to stay popular throughout the 23 years it has been on television, despite the cease in production of episodes. Not only has my mom seen every single episode of Friends, but so has my grandmother. This one of the many reasons I love the show. I could talk about it with my own friends and I can also talk about it with my family and they will know what I'm talking about. I could reference a line or certain part of the show and almost everyone would understand what I am referencing. Another thing I love about the show is how funny it is. Whether its Chandlers stupid humor, joey's "how you doin?", or the infamous "we were on a break" fight, I know if I watch Friends I will always get a good laugh. I have seen the whole series at least 3 times and it still gets funnier every time. One of the best parts about the show is being able to see how each of the characters develop and change over the course of the show. When the show begins they are all just starting Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay Friendship Friendship is very important. With friends in life, rough situations may become bearable and false decisions may turn back into the right decision. Yet sadly, the world is not perfect and it is corrupted by sin. Human used friendship in a selfish manner. Instead of helping each other, some used friendship to obtain their own goal or mislead their so called friend. This is not how friendship supposed to be. In the book Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi, readers could see how important friendship is and how it should be. In Nabeel Qureshi's life, his friendship with David helped him started his Christian conversion and aided him along the way. Before Qureshi met David, he thought that Christianity is wrong and Allah is the only god. After Qureshi saw David read the Bible on his free time, the author asked David if he knew that the Bible was not reliable. For a devout Christian, hearing others blatantly said that the Bible is completely corrupted is a big shock. Instead of getting angry at Qureshi, David just smiled and calmly handled the conversation. Qureshi mentioned that it was rather surprising how calm David was because "people were usually caught more off guard" (126). Instead of lashing out on Qureshi for his disagreement, David calmly showed him the errors in his thinking in a respectful way. This is how friends should help each other. After Qureshi did multiple researches to prove that the Bible and the whole belief of Christianity is wrong, David did Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Friendship As A Small Group Of Friends Friendship in Life Since I can remember I have always been a girl with a small group of friends. In my school years I would usually hang out with only 2–3 girls in my classroom, and it has always been that way ever since. I'm a very shy and quiet person; for that reason I've always preferred a small group of friends. Throughout the years, I've lost some friends on the way but I have also kept some good friends, and refer them more as best friends. Friendship has become a big part of my life, and it has taught me what friendship really is and who has been my real friends. Once I graduated from high school, I moved to Racine WI, to attend college and continue working as a waitress in a Mexican restaurant. Thanks to that job, I met a girl that till this day has been a great friend; I can honestly say she's like a sister to me. At first, we would just work together a couple times a week, but later on we began hanging out together outside of work. When that started, I just began to trust her more and learned a lot from her in how she is. Since I met her, she's the type of girl who can easily be talked to, she would get you comfortable talking to her and she would always make you laugh at the moment you meet her. She's very outgoing girls who even though we have been through a lot together we have managed to still continue being great friends. After knowing her for a couple years we became closer and closer, we have our differences, but we have learned a lot from each other. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Persuasive Essay About Friendship When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills, but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on mutual benefits, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Argumentative Essay On Friendship We are all now connected by the internet, like neurons in a giant brain – Stephen Hawking. Social media has provided us with various lines of connection. Never before have the emotions and musings of other individuals been more accessible to the rest of the population; we have access to original theories, prose, and art without having paid, in many cases, a cent in exchange for that accessibility. I would never argue that this form of connection is meaningless; nevertheless, I do believe that it is not the most significant form of association. Humans have a need, just as any other mammal, to interact with others of their kind in order to evolve individually into socially capable beings. Social media sites have greatly influenced the form by which we manage to meet these needs, and has proven to have several negative aspects. Having online friends has rapidly become a 'norm' in society, and multitudes of people argue that without social media these masses of people from different countries and even continents would not be able to meet. While this is definitely a valid point, it is also crucial to consider that in a majority of these friendships only the 'positive qualities' about a person are interchanged in "conversation". What does this mean? It means that like any rational person, people online tend to work diligently on their profiles in order to make an amazing first impression; the difference between face to face and online relationships is that when you form a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Reflective Essay About Friendship Having a friendship with someone since you were little is amazing, the bond you form with that person like a never–ending comforter and someone to always trust and confide in. The day I moved into the new house and went to see the neighborhood, I knew we would always be close. Owen and I grew closer every day, quickly becoming the best of friends, and at the time, nothing was better than having a best friend. Through our awkward years, multiple friend groups coming and going, the harsh words and the hate from other people, we were always there for each other; he had my back and I his. Living in the moment and cherishing the things you have while you have them is one of the most important things in life because you never know when it can all be taken away... It was during the eleventh–grade summer that everything changed. The daily talks, sleepovers, and coming to each other about everything all hindered. Eye contact and smiles were turned to scowling, pointing, and laughing with the hierarchy of all groups. Being friends with him for so long and eventually developing feelings that exceeded a friendship, and then just being dropped with no warning and not having a clue why was heart–wrenching and confusing. The day of the pep–rally I finally thought that this one–sided feud would be stopped and that we could rekindle our lost friendship, but I could never be more wrong. Many side glances, smirks, and winks were made, but none with the loving intent that they used to hold. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I shut off the computer and send a video chat request, a few seconds later she picked up. "What's going on?" I asked with great concern. "I'm just tired, I tried that before. It doesn't hurt, don't worry." she answered giggling. "So you are doing it again? Why?" I asked trying to keep calm. "She hated me, want me to go die." She stated and waving her arm. An easily definition of that would be a person you know, like and trust. In these tough times we count on friend to help us get through. I like to think of friendship as everlasting, but is friendship truly forever? Can miles drive you away from friends you made after graduating from places like high school or college? Just imagine walking across the stage and never seeing the people you graduated with. Well for those instances you can always join networking places like Facebook. A friendship can be everlasting depending on the personalities in that relationship. Sometimes personalities can change for the good the bad in many friendships. You can never change a person through a friendship. Differences can set you apart. The definition of a friend has changed over the years therefore that could be a contributing factor to why we can count our friend on one hand. Think about it! When separating from friends for a while physically values and beliefs start to change. Many may argue that is not true, but I will say I have lost many friends do to personality changes and belief. Some reasons maybe be because everyone in college likes to smoke and drink. I am not a fan of either which I believe is gross so I drop many friends due to that reason. I have also lost a lot of friends due to the ways they act towards me or others when different people are around. In the urban world we call that being "fake." Fake is another way of saying you aren't what you claim to be. You don't stay true to yourself and totally honest. On the other side people can change for the good to help each other in a friendship. Friendships can gain trust through one another in due to the people you are around. In a relationship trust is being able tell a secret under confidence to other people hoping they wont tell. If you gain some ones trust when you come to a problem you are likely to come to that person Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Argumentative Essay About Friendship Do you have friends? Most likely, you answered yes, but I'm asking do you have "true friends"? I use quotes because my understanding of the general populous concludes me to believe people don't have real honest, genuine, friends. These superficial friendships I speak of lead to a disastrous chaos, betrayal, and most importantly: a broken heart. Friends are those who look out for each other, those who will abort any personal objective for you at the drop of a hat. These aspects show a real friend, these aspects describe Rachel Stephenson. Rachel and I have a loaded history of friendship over the past seven years. We've seen each other through thick and thin and have always supported each other through each trial. Rachel is someone I consider a true friend from her loyalty to empathize with me, no matter the situation. This girl has stood by my side through my drooling days of elementary schools, always willing to talk to me: the new dorky kid at school. In my awkward preteen days, I would practically stick to her like glue yet she never got annoyed. Rachel would never mind countless teachers screaming at her just so she could talk to me in class. She's always bought me a Christmas present every year, with the most sentiment a person could ever receive. Though it has been trifling years of anguish for the loss of loved ones and melancholy situations, Rachel has never abandoned me. One time, Rachel stood up to my father while I was getting screamed at for failing the seventh Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Friends Essay Friends are the pearls of our life. This word bears its great meaning only to those who could understand the greatness of its meaning. Its some thing sacred, it needs to be cherished and build up for many years with much care. Goran Stojanov once said, "One should always take care when making a choice of a friend–as the friends are the ones you pick by yourself." My opinion is a bit different than Gorans, I prefer to say, "Friends come and go, but with the precious few we shall live our lives happily." I specially agree that friends come in to our life spontaneously. Therefore, there is little more than picking a part. Making Friends is the process, which is a very unique one. It depends on the person one is trying to become friends with,...show more content... So never hurt the ones you love, watch what you will say. There are many different types of friends and most of them can be placed into one of several categories: closeness friends, party friends, work and school friends and the best friend. The first type of friends, compared to the others types are the less valuable. This doesn't mean that they are not good. They are parts of our everyday life. They are the ones who will help us to notice some thing good. For instance, our new hair cut, they are the ones, which will turn our day from ordinary to special. Closeness, they may be in the moment but you never know how close will they become in the future. Second type, party friends, friends with whom we are spending the best time in our day. So they are special, maybe not the closest but like others worth of respect. For me they have super powers. They are able to change our mood, positively. They are representing us in the best positive way. Thru them we could meet new persons, which may become our good friends. They are the ones who are all night beside us. Sharing every thing that is good with us. The third type, work and school friends. Functioning in any kind of institution with out friends is absolutely not possible. Not because that we need help, but we need to spend our time with some body. They make us to fell that we belong in some group, that we have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
