Media Evaluation Question 4
1. 4 – Who Would Be The
Audience For Your
Media Product?
Over half of the people we asked said thrillers appealed to
them. The majority were female and were interested in
storyline and character.
Based on this, we wanted a story rather that an image based
opening. The story was integral to the opening.
The research also showed that a 15 certificate is the most
suitable for a thriller film. The criteria fitted with the content of
our entire film. There is strong language and violence which
are elements of a 15.
2. What we think based on The
BBFC
Although there is no language, in the film
opening, violence, and use of weapons
suggests a rating of 15.
However, although there is threat, there is
only a small amount, and there being no
blood means that there is not a high
enough violence for it to be a 15.
Therefore, bbfc guidelines state that the
film would either be a 12A or a 15.
3. 4 – Who Would Be
The Audience For
Your Media
Product?
Name: Joe Bloggs Age: 24 Hobbies/Interests: Thriller Films Favourite Films: The
Adjustment Bureau, Inception, The Bourne Ultimatum
Statement: I love thrillers, the narrative and the characters are what draw me in.
4. 4 – Who Would Be
The Audience For
Your Media Product?
We used the enigma code throughout the film; the fact that the
audience are unaware of who James is working for, why it is
such a chore and what the contents of the folder and the
envelope are.
This was a code/convention we believed would intrigue
audience. We also used believable and realistic characters that
the audience could relate to which intrigued the audience
further.
