 School of the Incarnation is an inter-parish school in
Gambrills, Maryland.
 We serve 760 students in grades K-8.
 We are accredited by the Middle States Association of
Colleges and Schools.
 School of the Incarnation opened our doors in 2000.
 The Steering Committee, made up of the school
principal and select school board members
 The Coordinating Committee, made up of School
Board members
 The Issues Committees, made up of School Board
members, parent representatives, faculty members,
and administrative staff
 Academic Excellence
 Finance Planning
 Facilities and Operations
 Institutional Advancement
 School of the Incarnation will remain a Roman
Catholic elementary school.
 School of the Incarnation is an inter-parish school
serving the six parishes of:
 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Crofton
 Church of the Holy Apostles, Gambrills
 Holy Family, Davidsonville
 St. Joseph, Odenton
 Our Lady of the Fields, Millersville
 Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Edgewater
 School of the Incarnation will continue serving
children in Kindergarten to Grade 8.
 School of the Incarnation will continue to be financially self-
supporting, dependent upon tuition, philanthropic support, and
other income to fund its annual operating and capital expenses.
 School of the Incarnation will continue to work closely with the
Division of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Baltimore,
adapting the Archdiocesan standards-based curriculum to its
needs, but embracing this curriculum in its entirety.
 The Strategic Plan for the School of the Incarnation will
complement “Preserving the Tradition, Transforming the Future:
The Rebirth of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of
Baltimore,” the strategic plan for the Catholic Schools of the
Archdiocese of Baltimore.
 School of the Incarnation is a non-profit corporation of the State
of Maryland, legally joined to its inter-parish sponsors, and will
maintain its operations at its present site.
 For the purpose of this presentation, we will focus on
the goals and objectives of the Academic Excellence
Committee.
 Hire a Coordinator of Curriculum and Professional
Development. (Fall, 2011)
 Implementation of the new technology plan to
include:
 The specification of the role of the instructional
technology teacher and instructional assistant in
support of faculty and student use of technology in the
classroom. (Fall, 2010)
 The purchase of new computers in the technology lab
and the installation of associated network access points.
(Fall, 2010)
 Investigation and procurement of new technologies that
enhance the instructional program as they become
available e.g. SMART Board, Flip Video Camera,
projectors and student notebooks. (Spring, 2011)
 Investigate programs, strategies and the possible
collaboration with other educational institutions to
address the needs of students who exhibit talented
and gifted attributes. (Spring, 2011)
 Continue the curriculum mapping initiative to enhance
curriculum and instruction in all content areas and
publish maps of all subject areas in order to:
 Ensure that instructional pacing is adjusted in line
with current and future Archdiocesan mandated
assessments. Identify gaps and redundancies in all
content areas. (Fall, 2010 – Ongoing)
 Build a wider array of assessment types to address the
needs of differing learning styles and to enhance
higher order thinking skills. (Fall, 2010 – Ongoing)
 Use data from standardized testing to direct
instruction and to ensure proficiency in knowledge
and skill in all content areas. (Fall, 2010 – Ongoing).

School of the incarnation strategic plan
