Essay about Cultural Experience
English 1130
Fall 2012
Cultural Diversity Assignment I didn't know where I should go to visit for my culture experience
paper. I am neither into a play or temple, but I absolutely love food, all kinds of food. I think meals
and restaurants are a great way to experience a different culture. The problem was what kind of food
I should try and won't be too disappointed? So I called my brother who has numerous experiences
in food. He told me that I should try a Greek food and there is a Greek restaurant in uptown called
It's Greek to me, it is a nice place to go and offers delicious authentic Greek food. I was attempting
and exciting. Therefore, I decided to try Greek food for my culture experience. Next following day,

They all looked amazing and delicious, I had to stop and take some pictures. My dish Beef Kebob
had four juicy steak nuggets, and a moist medium–rare with flavors you won't find anywhere with
some onion and pepper in between them. Couple this with vegetables and home–style potatoes. I
took a first bite of potatoes and it tasted so sour. I didn't like much but I didn't get bother by it. As
soon as I took the first bite of my steak nuggets, all the sour potatoes thoughts were disappeared
and I felt so happy chewing on the steak. It was so tender and delicious. My boyfriend's dish also
looked amazing, he really loved it. I didn't try because I don't like the taste of lamb. Soon after we
both cleaned out the plate and left no room for desserts. We had to promise each other that we
would come back again next time. After that, I called my brother and thank him for the
wonderful suggestion. He told me little bit about Greek culture on food. He said his Greek friend
told him that food is very important in Greek, Greek people take food very seriously. Family
loves to come together and cook for a nice meal, enjoy the food, laugh and have fun together. I
don't know much about Greek culture, but I guess I am interested in it now because this experience.
One thing I notice that Greek food is amazing and they do really appreciate the food and create
amazing dishes. I am glad that I chose Greek restaurant for this cultural

A Great Experience Essay
Opening 2
There are places that are probably the opposite of your life. Like me and my cousins house. The
craziness of my house can make break my will, which I try to keep intact. So traveling to my
cousins house is a big get away for me. Going there is like me going to my second home(or third,
since I have some weird relationship with some other place). And also I enjoy traveling, so its a
great experience. It's a relief that we are there after 5 hours and 55 minutes after watching my sister
throw up. (She doesn't do that anymore, thanks to medications).
In the evening, when dusk casts a small glow, we bought lightsabers outside and began a small
battle. My sister serves as a referee so we don't kill each other. With them, because...show more

I was jumpy, my body was hyper and was waiting to get out, being the 8 year old I was at the time.
When we arrived, I ran to the entrance, and took a look at that big globe that was there, and I was
awestruck. I was excited and enjoyed my time there. When we were done, the sun was setting,
and I was tired. We almost weren't able to go to the park because I got sick. We came there for
another summer, and we went to Yosemite. There were mountains and trees all around. We
stopped at a river and I was took some pictures of other relatives that came. We didn't see any
animals there except for a deer, though. When I came home, whenever I tried to call upon any good
memory when things were rough, they elude my imaginary hands. I longed to go any where for a
while after that to get new ones.
Relatives live not far from my cousins house, and ones that don't come while we were there, and I
get to see them. My mom has family over there, and we see them when we come. Their house got
crowded when there were at least 2 or three families (mine included) staying over there. Also we
had besides them other relatives that lived nearby coming over, so it be crowded. We enjoy our
time because its be difficult to remember anything bad when others are around. Other people
besides us being there makes it more fun and relaxing for me. At home, whenever I hear any
relative talk, I ask if they are coming here to visit. They rarely are coming, and I feel a

Essay about Unforgettable experience
"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go,
things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually
learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall
together." Said by Marilyn Monroe. For once, I believed what someone said without a doubt, and
most importantly from experience. Everything happens for a reason, and good things can fall apart
so better can fall together. Personal experience's can change people in the sense of who they are
and sometimes their perspective on life depending on the situation. Personally I have had one
experience that has made me realize many things in life and I will...show more content...
I felt the biggest knot in my throat as i tried holding in my tears. Once I couldn't hold back my
tears anymore, I felt a shadow of people over me. It was the most comforting, hurtful crowd ever to
surround me, my team. I opened my eyes and saw every one of their faces and thought that I was
letting them down. They were all asking if I was okay and I couldn't help but stand up and walk
it off. I walked to the bench with the feeling of a knife going straight in through one side of my
ankle and out the other. I thought about what I can do to keep practicing. I got up, limped all the
way to the trainers room and asked them to tape it as tight as they can without it hurting me.
Walking back out on to the field, where my team is still practicing, I sucked it all up and pulled
my coach aside. I explained to him how it only hurt at the moment and a little after I walked it off.
Inside, I was dying of pain. He told me to run around for a little and if I felt comfortable I can join
the practice again. I felt like it wasn't such a big deal so I got back on the field and started running
around. Right when practice ended, I walked back to the trainers room. I unwrapped my ankle
from all that tape to find an extra swollen ankle looking as if there were a softball in it. She looked
at my ankle, looked at me, and told me there was no way she was letting me leave her room without
getting checked. She told me to lay on my

My Experience As A Writer Essay
Vinay Patel ENG–1031.1032–05 Professor Ward Date–12/08/17 About my experience as a writer
How to become a good writer. There is some major difference between highschool and college
essay. High school and college are different things for writing an essay because it's exploring your
more skills on writing. In high school, I never had experience as writing essay or speeches.
Because in high school, it is not require that every student have to write an essay on academic
ways. If a student doesn't want to write essay academic way, then for a student can write an essay
on his ways. Because in my high school, it does not require that everyone have to follow the
MLA/APA format. We just had to finish the essay, because it's required to graduate from high
school. But when I started my first semester in college, and the professor gave us first assignment
writing about the introduction of an essay. I was really get stressed on that time, because I really
don't understand what to write introduction in essay. But I try my best on my first assignment.
Writing my three essays has taught me how to write the essay in academic way, how to format
them correctly, and analyse the text and question before writing the essay. when I started with my
first essay, I get the idea and I use to enjoy myself to writing essay. When I get the first essay that I
have to work on, is summary/response essay. For summary/response essay, first I have to do read the

Experience Of My Learning Experience
My most memorable moments occurred during my elementary school years because most of the
learning was combined with fun school trips. I remember learning about Native Americans and
the way they survived in the wild. I was amazed to learn about them and the tools they made as
well. The baskets, fishing, and use of acorns for food. We were able to learn about the importance
of knowing of those who came before us. Also, about the close knit families they had and
traditions. The historically aspect of it was very interesting because they were people that were
very different from the culture we knew. The aha moment came by visiting Pioneer Village because
I was amazed that we can see and touch a replica of those times. I realized that...show more content...
During my time in school, there were many great field trips and I am aware that not all schools
have the same funding. Therefore, I could only imagine all the effort it took to find a location at
Morro Bay and plan a trip to Pioneer Village. First, the teacher must have planned the lessons that
could coincide with the trip. Students will then be able to experience everything they had learned
in the classroom. Before proceeding with the lessons, days before a field trip, teachers must get
clearance and get permission slips from parents. Also, a teacher must figure out if there is funding
from the school. I would imagine that the opportunity would be presented from the school
administrators because there were other classes from our school who went as well to both field
trips. Therefore, teachers may have collaborated in regards to the lessons and making the trips
happen amongst each other. In order for students to be prepared for the trip, I would have made sure
the students learned what they were going to experience. For instance, we were aware of how the
acorns were crushed; therefore, we were excited to crush them in the same manner we learned that
Natives did. For the ocean trip, students must learn safety precautions because they could slip on the
rocks. Teachers must be attentive and helpful to the student's needs and question while at the
location to ensure they understand the meaning of their surroundings. The two field trips were a great

Experience Of Writing
Writing, it has it's good, and it's bad. Regardless of who you are however, you have had an
experience with it. College, High School, Middle School, etc. We all have written something at
some point in our lives. Personally I haven't been exposed to massive amounts of writing outside
of school although, I do enjoy writing songs. There's many different types from Novels, Poetry,
Music, all the way to texting. Most people I feel enjoy writing and as do I. I enjoy writing for a few
reasons,One. It allows me to relieve stress or anything on my mind and keep sane. I have a
journal to keep track of days for later memories and I add to it every day. I have a few experiences
worth sharing as well. One of my first experiences seriously writing is when, I was in Highschool,
and had to write a speech. I spent four days writing this speech. Although it wasn't what you would
call outstandingly fun. The speech was for my graduation on the last day of school BSEP. BSEP
was a project all seniors had to complete and pass to graduate. I have been out of school for two
years since that experience....show more content...
I began writing songs about a year ago. The drive really came out of nowhere I wasn't in a very
good place emotionally. Since I was feeling kind of down I began to write songs mostly R&B and
as well as Hip Hop. Writing these however doesn't require much punctuation. I write a lot of
songs, and I have compiled about 30 total in the past year. I get a lot of good feedback from the
people who have heard them but I am very skittish about singing in front of people. I mostly do it
for self satisfaction in my own head it helps me relax. I'm also building a skill that might one day
turn out to become something

Essay: My Experience At Community College
In the summer, I attended a guidance class at Chaffey College. I thought that community college
was for people who drop out of high school and not take life seriously, but I got that idea from
teachers who went straight to universities after high school. When I attended Chaffey, I was
surprised to be in a diverse culture. The people that I have met were so different and the professors
were very helpful than I expected. Suffering through the midst of exclusion taught me that there are
so many options I can choose from in the future. Being a survivor from the destructive side effects
of mind control was shocking enough. Fortunately, I recovered from the operation that poisoned
every inch of my mind. I was glad that I attended Chaffey because

Essay On Immigrant Experience
My mom brought me to America in 2002. This move was difficult as I had to leave my family
behind. Up until then, I grew up in the midst of a large, extended family. I had cousins to play with
and multiple adults to spoil me. Furthermore, moving to an entirely different continent where the
culture and environment was different from what I was used to, did not help. I experienced quite a
bit of culture shock and language became a problem. Those first few months when I could not
communicate with my new classmates were lonely. On top of that, seeing my parents work so hard
to build a new life in a country where we had no family to rely on, made me hate our situation.
However, being an immigrant taught me some valuable lessons and shaped who I am today. At
an early age, I learned to become more independent, more responsible. I had to learn to do certain
tasks, such as making my lunchbox, doing my homework, by myself. I had to learn to adapt and
to appreciate what we had. Each new place we moved to, I experienced something new. In Ohio, I
learned what chicken tenders were. In New Jersey, I experienced my first snowfall. In Texas, I
bought my first pair of cowboy boots. As I grew up, I learned to treasure what the United States had

At the same time, it also taught me that new experiences and travels can significantly impact those
points–of–view. Previously, I mentioned a patient I had seen with my peers, whose mother
refused to acknowledge that her daughter had HIV. My peers were extremely heated about the
topic and disapproved of the mother's decision to not seek help. While I did not support her
decision, I understood her actions. In their conservative society, public knowledge about the girl's
disease would have lead to social discrimination against the girl and would have been unsafe for her.
I understood, because I experienced a similar

My Experience On My Volleyball Experience
My Volleyball season experience As I had been getting ready for my second year of Volleyball
tryouts my heart was pumping so fast in my chest I honestly thought I had been having a heart
attack. Tomorrow was going to be the first day of tryouts and I was so excited yet nervous.
Annika(my best friend) and I were practicing with our Volleyballs outside of her house. We were
doing most of the drills we had remembered from the season before. After a couple of hours we
decided we should stop before we pull a muscle or injury our bodies and rest up for tomorrow. My
mother had cooked me up a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, my absolute favorite meal
ever, to get me ecstatic for tryouts and to settle my butterflies. Once I finished my delicious meal
and proceed to get ready for bed, Annika and I called each other and talked for a while about what
we were going to do tomorrow and how we hoped we would get on the team again. I quickly
dozed off shortly after we hung up. As I arose the next morning my father had made me a slice of
toast with strawberry jelly on it and some orange juice. Annika, Zoe and I carpool in the morning
and so I waited patiently for her mother to come pick me up. As they picked me up we all
jammed out to Beyonce's new tunes to try and get all the stress out of our bodies. Once we got to
school, we announced our goodbyes and went our separate ways. As class dragged on I couldn't help
but wonder what if this the year I didn't meet the requirements to

Essay on Writing Experience
My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the
basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things
like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the
future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers,
documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I
predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in
kindergarten. My teacher taught me how to write my name over and over until I could write it with
no errors. All through elementary my teachers taught me...show more content...
I need to learn to quit thinking as much on what I want to write about and how to write about a topic
and just starting jotting stuff down in outline form as it comes to mind. Run–ons and fragments I
need to be able to spot and fix right away or I really need to not have any in my papers at all. My
goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or
have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge
to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays,
and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in
my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to
do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex
education if I want to be a course instructor. Researching information on all of those topics I will
have to make sure I do an excellent job on and collect accurate information and statistics so that I
can compare to other sources. Dictating to the doctor means that I will need to write properly so
that he understands what I am saying. Other nurses will have to be able to understand what I am
talking about by my writing skills when doing shift changes. I will have to be very precise so that
other nurses will not

The Importance Of Experience Learning
Is school the only place where one can experience learning? While knowledge can be gained in
school, often we also gain knowledge through our experiences. Which help us improve our skills
and open our eyes to new ideas and perspectives. Notably, real life experiences are just as valuable
as education. Personally, I have been able to experience this first hand by; being able to learn a new
culture at young age, household responsibilities , and participate in sports.
First of, moving to a foreign country might sound like a big adventure or a great start. One of the
things that may happen when going to a new place (even on vacation) is finding yourself
comparing everything to how it is back home. Comparing food, quality of life, weather, people's
habits, beliefs, and everything between. Subsequently, moving to a foreign country may not be as
easy for some people, and it could be as normal for others. For me it wasn't easy, at the age of 5 I
was moving from El Salvador to the United states. With my dad being a diplomat we have to move
a lot. The U.S. has a completely different culture, language, climate, overall a completely diverse
lifestyle and environment. I felt like a complete stranger. In particular, language barrier was one of
the hardest part in this case. Having to watch my mom struggle to communicate with people when
she needed help or anything, was hard because not everyone was nice enough to try and understand
her. My mom, my siblings, and I were at the mall when my

Customer Experience and Customer Engagement
Customer experience and customer engagement
Customer experience is replacing quality as the most important element in marketing. (Klaus &
Maklan, 2013) Great customer experience will encourage customer engagement, which can be
understood as a customer's cognitive, emotional and behavioral interaction with a brand (Hollebeek,
2011). The high customer engagement is directly related to high customer satisfaction, strong
customer loyalty and increased word–of–mouth behavior, which all in turn maintain companies'
sustainable competitive advantage and allow they charging higher prices and profit margins than
competitors. As said Investment Weekly News (2012) quoted that consumers will pay for the
extraordinary customer experience. This...show more content...
When I enter a Apple store, the enthusiastic staff, the beautiful and concise decoration, and the
experience of using the real and new launched products make me being excited and being willing to
buy something from there. In addition, Apple also possesses a concise online store. Customers can
easily find the introduction and parameters about every product and make the purchase within a few
steps. After the purchase, customer will get the product from nearby physical store or receive at
home in a few days. If anything goes wrong with Apple's products, customer can just book an
appointment from online or smartphone apps and Apple Genius bar will solve your problem
immediately. In my point of view, Apple's online shop, smartphone apps, and O2O program are
providing customer alternative solutions of reviewing, purchasing, and booking appointments
for repairing Apple's products. Genius bar was set up as a repairing services center. It saves
customers' time by helping them effectively and efficiently. I like using Genius bar, because
almost every time I used it, my problem was solved very well within an acceptable days.
Sometimes it may exceed my expectation. Like once. I booked a Genius bar appointment because
software in my mac crashed several times, and they at last gave me a new hard disk and

I went on work experience for a week in June at Natwest Bank in Bakewell. Natwest is part of a

Natwest is a national company and very well known so I felt quite privileged to work for them.
Also the Bakewell branch was of a very high standard of service from the checks they get every

LEADERSHIP HISTORY Contingency Theories (CT)

CT interpret effective leadership as affected by situational variables, including the followers, work
environment and tasks, and the external environment (Daft, 2005, p.111). CT includes Fiedler's
proposal of predominance and interaction between relationship or taskoriented leadership styles, as
well as Hersey and Blanchard's focus on the characteristics of followers as producing favorable or
unfavorable results, followed by the path–goal theory, Vroom Jago model, and
substitutes–for–leadership approaches. If the leader understands how to properly interrelate with
situational variables, the possibilities for success would be maximized. Influence Theories Leaders
are challenged to persuade followers effectively integrating power and influence. Followers should
be motivated, shaped and guided through Charismatic Leadership, "influence based...on the qualities
and personality of the leader." (Daft, 2005, p.24). Bolman and Terrence (1991) identify four Leader
worldviews that influence this approach: Structural, Human Resources, Political and Symbolic

English is a subject I have always felt strong with as a student, this area of strength has not only
benefitted me in my this course but has helped me to succeed in every class I have taken.
American literature so far has gave me a new and refined understanding, from read and writing to
communicating my ideas in group discussions. Never before have I been able to have such a
confident understanding of was I was reading and writing. I have gained a new and refined belief of
what it means to annotate a text and why it is important, though I will always have reserved
feelings about them. In discussion groups by referring to my annotations I am able to express my
ideas and observations about the text. I have never before been so challenged with a piece of
writing, throughout my career as a student prompts had always been specific and specifications
were always strict. Writing literary analysis was not only a new type of essay writing for me but it
required me to refer back to my annotations and think deeper about why I was having certain
thoughts and opinions on a text to develop an argument. Whether it is reading, writing, or speaking
the significance of everything I have mastered, and will continue to learn in english class will allow
me to have fate in they way I express myself in the future.
Throughout the first quarter of American literature we have annotated plenty of texts that have
made me a stronger and more thoughtful reader than ever before. The difficulty of the readings we
have done created the challenge of understanding the text in a timely manner, while thoroughly
annotating it with a clear balance of quality and quantity. Going into the first quarter my previous
understanding of what it meant to annotating a text was very minimal; only making short
annotations on things that I found notable. I had never before been challenged to think while
reading about all the literary devices that were causing me to have these analytical thoughts and
perspectives while reading. One of the first pieces of text we read in the course was "The Audacity
of Hope" By Barack Obama, now looking back I recognize that I took a sloppy approach in
understanding that text. Because it was the start of the year the stamina I

The company's creams inventory remains constant because it does not follow a trend in
innovation and changes so often as the other products. The surplus in inventory is a big
disadvantage since; last year's products may not be in style this year in addition to the cost of
storage. For all these reasons their cash flow is less in comparison with previous years causing that
Luxor Cosmetics keeps increasing their bank loans, creating more debt, making it harder to pay out
as 2011. In this particular situation the company could have either decrease its budgeted sales
(productions) or increase its actual sales by improving more effective marketing strategy and
research and development of its products in the markets. This way their inventory would decrease
and their cash flow would increase. (Hopkins, 2009)
Further, through effective marketing strategy Luxor

My Writing Experience
Reading and writing has always created a sense of understanding for me in my art. Reading in the
literal sense is a way that we understand text or symbols in our minds which in turn create meaning.
Writing also in a literal sense is our way of communicating our knowledge and emotions to others
through symbols in text. The human experience for all people includes communication and through
reading and writing this experience is created. From the beginning of this course, my only prior
experience with reading and writing were high school level course over literature and reading. I had
an average level of rhetoric, reading, writing and language overall however, understanding the
significance of these subjects was never put forth in such a way until I took this course. I discovered
through this course that reading is a combination of not only our "visual information" but also our
"nonvisual information". My comprehension of reading has evolved from reading...show more

I feel that organization is both a strength and a weakness in my writing. Free writing is something
that helped me gain a better sense of my ideas and through this I was able to create more structured
ideas. However, the formation of a structurally sound essay that contains writing that flows was
extremely difficult for myself. Fluidity was a challenge throughout my time in this course, but is
was also something that created a better voice in my writing. The understanding of reading and
writing in this course was extremely meaningful for me and made a huge impact on my writing
overall. Writing motivates me and inspires me in my own work to create stories and share with

My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to
advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has
created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why
English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in
America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take
advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English
IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome
obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there
are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was
something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to
organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class
was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write
about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had
many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it
flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around
more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned

somewhat of an outsider to the majority of companies offering internships. Upon reading the
requirements of this assignment I was unsure about who I was going to speak with but little did I
know I would only have to do half of the work.
The first company I talked to was actually by accident and that was Penske the moving truck
company. I was scouring the map for companies that offered internships for human sciences and
was having little success when all of the sudden I heard a voice say "Looking for a job, Ethan?". I
was startled when I heard this and I...show more content...
I approached this company because of my love for Amazon as a company, but also because they had
listed they were interested in hiring human science majors on CyHire. The woman I spoke with told
me about an internship/co–op entitled "Air Project Manager". This internship was directed more
towards Business majors, but she did say if I applied I could be a competitive candidate given the
fact I do have some business classes on my resume. As the conversation concluded I asked her give
me her take on what the outlook for jobs within Amazon looked like for the coming years and she
said they hope to see substantial growth in the next few years with the opening of an additional
warehouse in Staten Island.
In conclusion, my attendance to this career fair was about what I expected given the fact I didn't
think very many businesses would be offering internships to aspiring physician's assistants. One
thing I wish the Business and Technology career fair had was hospitals or more medical related
opportunities. Outside that fact, I would say my overall experience at the fair was a positive

My Experience In My Life
My life, or perhaps in the manner that I perceive it, has been overwhelmingly filled with enlightening
and repressive circumstances that could have been averted, but all in all, makes up one's destiny.
These events intricately tailored me into a young man that grew conscientious of the detrimental
behavior of "acting before thinking" and into the realm of "thinking before acting". What I would
soon come to understand was that through sheer patience, and trial–and–error it instilled within me
new insights to learn from and that the most triumphant moments in my life began at the crossroads
of unknowingness, a decision to stay in mediocrity, or the pursuit towards personal greatness– thus
the decision had to be met.
In the fall season of 2006, I was a student at Saint John Vianney, a relatively small parochial school.
During that time period, I was an immensely nervous 6th grader that was forced to immerse himself
into a Roman Catholic private school that had me sharply at odds with what I had experienced from
schooling in the Folsom Cordova Unified public–school district (Kindergarten to 5th grade). It's
important to know that I was sent here by my parents as a way of disciplining me due to, in their
opinion, abhorrent behavior that medically could have stemmed from ADD, but perhaps I was just
restless and explorative.
The very first moment I shared with another soul was by the connective link of vision with a female
student, by the name of Scarlett. This young girl (of

For me, learning a language is a complicated process. It is different from learning other subjects. It
involves a lot of practices and follow up. When I talk about my personal experience, I would say
that I have a rich experience in learning English as a second language. English was taught to me for
ten years starting from grade seven till graduation from university. After graduation, I felt that I
should improve my language skills. Therefore, I did a lot of efforts personally to increase my
fluency. Until now I still learn the language. Indeed, learning a language takes a lifetime.
I started learning English as a second language when I was in first intermediate. I still remember my
first classes and my first teachers. I remember that my teachers changed frequently in the first year
but all of them have much in common. All of them used grammar translation method. They used to
write bilingual lists of words on board, then we, as students, were asked to copy these lists and
memorize them by heart. All teaching concentrated on reading and writing skills, but there were no
activities concentrating on speaking or listening. In addition, grammar rules were taught in that stage
of learning the language as mathematics equations, and we were asked to memorize the rules as we

Of course, there are certain defects or gaps in my knowledge or ability to use the English language
like using idioms and the appropriateness of some vocabulary. Idioms have many connotations and
denotations in the English language. Sometimes I use an idiom and I mean something, but the
connotations of the idiom means something else. Another gap of my knowledge of the language is
the appropriateness of using certain vocabulary. English language entails high sense of using the
appropriate word for describing or narrating something. To my mind, I have not reached this point

Essay about My Work Experience
My Work Experience
When I was told that I would be doing my work experience at Belleview nursing home, working
with old sick people I found that it was a very daunting prospect. After my first day there, that had all
changed.
I made my way to work on Monday 6th of June by the service bus at 8.30am to be at my workplace
by 9.00am. The thought of meeting new people and trying to act mature in an environment I was
not sure of scared me. I got to Belleview nursing home and suddenly felt all my worries diminish
within ten minutes of meeting my newfound work colleagues. The matron, Myra Symes, welcomed
me with a smile and made me feel part of the team immediately. I was informed of my duties and

One particular patient, Lizzie, who was 97 and looked very sad, and confused, due to her dementia,
thinking that she was still at home during the war and thought she was a sixteen year old girl. I
thought of how she must have felt, having the mind of a sixteen year old but the body of a ninety
seven year old. She made me feel sad for her but feeling sorry for the patients doesn't help in the
caring profession. Therefore I had to focus on the job I was there to do.
As my week progressed at the nursing home, so did my capabilities I grew more confident in the
tasks I was being asked to perform. I was beginning to feel part of the team. Getting to know my
work mates on a daily basis made me feel that any problems I would be facing with the patients
would be quickly diminished by simply asking for help on anything I wasn't sure of.
I began helping with the bathing, dressing, feeding and aiding them with their toilet needs.
Although the patients were old not all of them were ill, therefore they needed exercise and
showing them exercise videos where we all joined in. This made it a fun time for them, thus
making their day much more bearable. My days here were passing quickly in the workplace as the
patients kept me busy. They all had different and special

An Experience that changed my Life
Life is full of learning and it is mostly due to our daily life experiences. These experiences are
mostly based on our surrounding environment from where we learn new things every day. But all
these experiences are a result of our keen observations out of daily routines. It is very important to
note that life also provides us with some chances to experience new people or places that are indeed
out of the ordinary. That is thetime we indeed learn new and unique things, hence these are unique
experiences of our life which are remembered by us throughout our life span. I have visited USA
and this was indeed a life time experience. Going through new and strikingly important things really
made me filled up with pleasure. It was indeed very joyful and marvelous experience. I am very
happy and expecting many more things and unique experience coming my way and making me
enjoy new and exciting things.
USA is a place which is full of new experiences that is what makes it even more exciting due to all
kinds of diversity in food in recreation and work; hence everything here is much more diverse
than a normal place available for recreation anywhere in the world. This was the first time in my
life when I was to go overseas and I really enjoyed this, it was indeed marvelous experience when I
visited East,...show more content...
I have logic to testify my statement in terms of the reference that USA being an economic hub
invites people from all parts of the world. One can always have the chance to meet many diverse
people belonging to different cultures, traditions and lifestyles. So, one can enjoy a small world
here in USA. I met people from different parts of the Asia–Pacific region, Thailand, Singapore,
Malaysia, Africa, Europe, Russia and Indonesia. Many of them were my online friends and we
really enjoyed meeting each other in the practical world rather than the virtual world for the very first

My Experience With My Friends
Growing up I could identify my friends whom I found to be more sensitive, friendly and
imaginative. These were the friends that I could turn to when I had a problem I needed to talk
through or someone who was sincere and honest in their advice while being mindful of my
feelings. I could also identify with these friends because I have always been one to make sure
everyone else is taken care of before myself. These "blues" are the most genuine people I have met
throughout life, but I have also found in my classroom. Just three days ago, one of my students
answered a question that normally does not volunteer to participate. He answered correctly and his
fellow peer whom he is not within the same social circle could not be more proud of him. She was
astonished and proud of his answer and continued to whisper (loudly) across the room good job with
her thumbs up until he realized her recognition and smiled back with a thank you. I was so proud to
have this student in my classroom showing such compassion for another student. This generation is
criticized for only thinking of themselves and although not untrue, it is moments like that, that
remind me of how lucky I am to have blues in the classroom. As blues strengths including caring for
others and sharing their emotions are compromised by them feeling hurt or treated unjustly, they
take it personally. It's important to reassure and validate their feelings. Lastly are the students who
carefully analyze my words, actions,

  • 1. Essay about Cultural Experience English 1130 Fall 2012 Cultural Diversity Assignment I didn't know where I should go to visit for my culture experience paper. I am neither into a play or temple, but I absolutely love food, all kinds of food. I think meals and restaurants are a great way to experience a different culture. The problem was what kind of food I should try and won't be too disappointed? So I called my brother who has numerous experiences in food. He told me that I should try a Greek food and there is a Greek restaurant in uptown called It's Greek to me, it is a nice place to go and offers delicious authentic Greek food. I was attempting and exciting. Therefore, I decided to try Greek food for my culture experience. Next following day, my boyfriend...show more content... They all looked amazing and delicious, I had to stop and take some pictures. My dish Beef Kebob had four juicy steak nuggets, and a moist medium–rare with flavors you won't find anywhere with some onion and pepper in between them. Couple this with vegetables and home–style potatoes. I took a first bite of potatoes and it tasted so sour. I didn't like much but I didn't get bother by it. As soon as I took the first bite of my steak nuggets, all the sour potatoes thoughts were disappeared and I felt so happy chewing on the steak. It was so tender and delicious. My boyfriend's dish also looked amazing, he really loved it. I didn't try because I don't like the taste of lamb. Soon after we both cleaned out the plate and left no room for desserts. We had to promise each other that we would come back again next time. After that, I called my brother and thank him for the wonderful suggestion. He told me little bit about Greek culture on food. He said his Greek friend told him that food is very important in Greek, Greek people take food very seriously. Family loves to come together and cook for a nice meal, enjoy the food, laugh and have fun together. I don't know much about Greek culture, but I guess I am interested in it now because this experience. One thing I notice that Greek food is amazing and they do really appreciate the food and create amazing dishes. • 2. A Great Experience Essay Opening 2 There are places that are probably the opposite of your life. Like me and my cousins house. The craziness of my house can make break my will, which I try to keep intact. So traveling to my cousins house is a big get away for me. Going there is like me going to my second home(or third, since I have some weird relationship with some other place). And also I enjoy traveling, so its a great experience. It's a relief that we are there after 5 hours and 55 minutes after watching my sister throw up. (She doesn't do that anymore, thanks to medications). In the evening, when dusk casts a small glow, we bought lightsabers outside and began a small battle. My sister serves as a referee so we don't kill each other. With them, because...show more content... I was jumpy, my body was hyper and was waiting to get out, being the 8 year old I was at the time. When we arrived, I ran to the entrance, and took a look at that big globe that was there, and I was awestruck. I was excited and enjoyed my time there. When we were done, the sun was setting, and I was tired. We almost weren't able to go to the park because I got sick. We came there for another summer, and we went to Yosemite. There were mountains and trees all around. We stopped at a river and I was took some pictures of other relatives that came. We didn't see any animals there except for a deer, though. When I came home, whenever I tried to call upon any good memory when things were rough, they elude my imaginary hands. I longed to go any where for a while after that to get new ones. Relatives live not far from my cousins house, and ones that don't come while we were there, and I get to see them. My mom has family over there, and we see them when we come. Their house got crowded when there were at least 2 or three families (mine included) staying over there. Also we had besides them other relatives that lived nearby coming over, so it be crowded. We enjoy our time because its be difficult to remember anything bad when others are around. Other people besides us being there makes it more fun and relaxing for me. At home, whenever I hear any relative talk, I ask if they are coming here to visit. They rarely are coming, and I feel a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." I walked to the bench with the feeling of a knife going straight in through one side of my ankle and out the other. I thought about what I can do to keep practicing. I got up, limped all the way to the trainers room and asked them to tape it as tight as they can without it hurting me. Walking back out on to the field, where my team is still practicing, I sucked it all up and pulled my coach aside. I explained to him how it only hurt at the moment and a little after I walked it off. Inside, I was dying of pain. He told me to run around for a little and if I felt comfortable I can join the practice again. I felt like it wasn't such a big deal so I got back on the field and started running around. Right when practice ended, I walked back to the trainers room. I unwrapped my ankle from all that tape to find an extra swollen ankle looking as if there were a softball in it. There is some major difference between highschool and college essay. High school and college are different things for writing an essay because it's exploring your more skills on writing. In high school, I never had experience as writing essay or speeches. Because in high school, it is not require that every student have to write an essay on academic ways. I remember learning about Native Americans and the way they survived in the wild. I was amazed to learn about them and the tools they made as well. The baskets, fishing, and use of acorns for food. We were able to learn about the importance of knowing of those who came before us. Also, about the close knit families they had and traditions. During my time in school, there were many great field trips and I am aware that not all schools have the same funding. Therefore, I could only imagine all the effort it took to find a location at Morro Bay and plan a trip to Pioneer Village. First, the teacher must have planned the lessons that could coincide with the trip. Students will then be able to experience everything they had learned in the classroom. Before proceeding with the lessons, days before a field trip, teachers must get clearance and get permission slips from parents. Also, a teacher must figure out if there is funding from the school. I would imagine that the opportunity would be presented from the school administrators because there were other classes from our school who went as well to both field trips. Therefore, teachers may have collaborated in regards to the lessons and making the trips happen amongst each other. In order for students to be prepared for the trip, I would have made sure the students learned what they were going to experience. For instance, we were aware of how the acorns were crushed; therefore, we were excited to crush them in the same manner we learned that Natives did. For the ocean trip, students must learn safety precautions because they could slip on the rocks. Teachers must be attentive and helpful to the student's needs and question while at the location to ensure they understand the meaning of their surroundings. Up until then, I grew up in the midst of a large, extended family. I had cousins to play with and multiple adults to spoil me. Furthermore, moving to an entirely different continent where the culture and environment was different from what I was used to, did not help. I experienced quite a bit of culture shock and language became a problem. Those first few months when I could not communicate with my new classmates were lonely. On top of that, seeing my parents work so hard to build a new life in a country where we had no family to rely on, made me hate our situation. However, being an immigrant taught me some valuable lessons and shaped who I am today. At an early age, I learned to become more independent, more responsible. I had to learn to do certain tasks, such as making my lunchbox, doing my homework, by myself. I had to learn to adapt and to appreciate what we had. My mother had cooked me up a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, my absolute favorite meal ever, to get me ecstatic for tryouts and to settle my butterflies. Once I finished my delicious meal and proceed to get ready for bed, Annika and I called each other and talked for a while about what we were going to do tomorrow and how we hoped we would get on the team again. I quickly dozed off shortly after we hung up. As I arose the next morning my father had made me a slice of toast with strawberry jelly on it and some orange juice. Annika, Zoe and I carpool in the morning and so I waited patiently for her mother to come pick me up. As they picked me up we all jammed out to Beyonce's new tunes to try and get all the stress out of our bodies. Once we got to school, we announced our goodbyes and went our separate ways. As class dragged on I couldn't help but wonder what if this the year I didn't meet the requirements to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Essay on Writing Experience My Writing Experiences My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college. Writing in the past started in kindergarten. My goals are to write papers and not have to reassure myself that maybe I need to do more research or have more data or even have to rethink my whole topic over. I would love to have the knowledge to be a tutor someday and teach other people how to properly write papers, paragraphs, essays, and maybe even books. To have excellent skills in writing will definitely be a great advantage in my nursing profession. In nursing, I will have to do lots of charting on my patients. I will have to do health presentations on various subjects such as exercising, how our society eats, and sex education if I want to be a course instructor. • 11. The Importance Of Experience Learning Is school the only place where one can experience learning? While knowledge can be gained in school, often we also gain knowledge through our experiences. Which help us improve our skills and open our eyes to new ideas and perspectives. Notably, real life experiences are just as valuable as education. Personally, I have been able to experience this first hand by; being able to learn a new culture at young age, household responsibilities , and participate in sports. First of, moving to a foreign country might sound like a big adventure or a great start. One of the things that may happen when going to a new place (even on vacation) is finding yourself comparing everything to how it is back home. Comparing food, quality of life, weather, people's habits, beliefs, and everything between. Subsequently, moving to a foreign country may not be as easy for some people, and it could be as normal for others. For me it wasn't easy, at the age of 5 I was moving from El Salvador to the United states. With my dad being a diplomat we have to move a lot. The U.S. has a completely different culture, language, climate, overall a completely diverse lifestyle and environment. I felt like a complete stranger. In particular, language barrier was one of the hardest part in this case. (Klaus & Maklan, 2013) Great customer experience will encourage customer engagement, which can be understood as a customer's cognitive, emotional and behavioral interaction with a brand (Hollebeek, 2011). The high customer engagement is directly related to high customer satisfaction, strong customer loyalty and increased word–of–mouth behavior, which all in turn maintain companies' sustainable competitive advantage and allow they charging higher prices and profit margins than competitors. American literature so far has gave me a new and refined understanding, from read and writing to communicating my ideas in group discussions. Never before have I been able to have such a confident understanding of was I was reading and writing. I have gained a new and refined belief of what it means to annotate a text and why it is important, though I will always have reserved feelings about them. In discussion groups by referring to my annotations I am able to express my ideas and observations about the text. I have never before been so challenged with a piece of writing, throughout my career as a student prompts had always been specific and specifications were always strict. Writing literary analysis was not only a new type of essay writing for me but it required me to refer back to my annotations and think deeper about why I was having certain thoughts and opinions on a text to develop an argument. Whether it is reading, writing, or speaking the significance of everything I have mastered, and will continue to learn in english class will allow me to have fate in they way I express myself in the future. Throughout the first quarter of American literature we have annotated plenty of texts that have made me a stronger and more thoughtful reader than ever before. The difficulty of the readings we have done created the challenge of understanding the text in a timely manner, while thoroughly annotating it with a clear balance of quality and quantity. Going into the first quarter my previous understanding of what it meant to annotating a text was very minimal; only making short annotations on things that I found notable. I had never before been challenged to think while reading about all the literary devices that were causing me to have these analytical thoughts and perspectives while reading. One of the first pieces of text we read in the course was "The Audacity of Hope" By Barack Obama, now looking back I recognize that I took a sloppy approach in understanding that text. Advanced Placement English IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it flowed correctly. My Experience In My Life My life, or perhaps in the manner that I perceive it, has been overwhelmingly filled with enlightening and repressive circumstances that could have been averted, but all in all, makes up one's destiny. These events intricately tailored me into a young man that grew conscientious of the detrimental behavior of "acting before thinking" and into the realm of "thinking before acting". What I would soon come to understand was that through sheer patience, and trial–and–error it instilled within me new insights to learn from and that the most triumphant moments in my life began at the crossroads of unknowingness, a decision to stay in mediocrity, or the pursuit towards personal greatness– thus the decision had to be met. In the fall season of 2006, I was a student at Saint John Vianney, a relatively small parochial school. During that time period, I was an immensely nervous 6th grader that was forced to immerse himself into a Roman Catholic private school that had me sharply at odds with what I had experienced from schooling in the Folsom Cordova Unified public–school district (Kindergarten to 5th grade). It's important to know that I was sent here by my parents as a way of disciplining me due to, in their opinion, abhorrent behavior that medically could have stemmed from ADD, but perhaps I was just restless and explorative.
