Establish a home fire safety plan
People rely on fireandsmokedetectorstohelpkeepthemsafeintheirhomes.Thoughfireandsmokealarmsareeffective,
a firm fire safety plan that will keep everyone calm should a fire occur could make the difference between life and death.
* Begin by assessing the layout of the home. Figure out the two best exits from the home.
* Check fire alarms routinely, and change batteries at least every year.
* Make sure windows can be easily opened if they are an exit point.
* Make note of who will be helping children or the elderly out of the home.
* Establish a place where the family will meet outdoors. This area should be far enough away from the home so that
everyone will be safe from smoke, flames and falling debris. Fires may ignite fuel explosions, so be sure the meeting
spot is a good deal away.
Fire safety is very important. In conjunction with smoke alarms, a fire safety plan can help everyone get out alive.

Bringing Help And Hope To
Hurting Girls And Their Families
Wilderness Way Girls Camp is a year round camping program for girls
ages 8-16 experiencing significant trouble at home and choosing to get
help.
Many girls today struggle with self image, self worth…often thinking of
their lives as failures or mistakes. This can lead to poor decision making,
risky behavior, and torn family relationships.
Since 1991 our camp has been helping girls who have recognized the
need for a new outlook on life.
Girls live within a group mutually committed to giving and receiving
help. The group is led by live-in-staff committed to living out healthy
Christian principles. Together, the group develops plans
for successful living. That includes building tents to live
in, planning tasty healthy meals, and planning and taking
adventure trips throughout the eastern U.S.
This academic learning is interwoven throughout the
program. More importantly girls learn to think of and live
with others, resolve conflicts without destroying relation-
ships, and plan for future success.
Wilderness Way Girls Camp is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that
thrives on donor support and thrift store profits.
