“The acquisition in late 2007 of Indian powerhouse Hanmer & Partners (now Hanmer
MS&L) means that MS&L now has about 575 people in its Asia-Pacific operations,
enough to make it a leader in the region in terms of headcount. The Indian giant (which
officially became part of the MS&L family in February) has been integrated into the
overall MS&L operation, adding 400 people in eight cities, plus satellite offices in 33
smaller cities, staffed by individuals with strong connections to local media, government
and opinion leaders. Hanmer has considerable expertise in the financial services sector,
and a strong digital practice, with a client list that includes the CNBC TV 18 group, Tata
Sky, General Motors, and LG Electronics, with new business last year from New wins
include The Global Fund, Bharti-Axa, Deutsche Bank, Max New York Life, Sony and
BNP Paribas. A particular highlight of 2008 was the India Art Summit, organized and
sponsored by Hanmer, which attracted 200 delegates representing various nationalities
and a crowd of 10,000, creating India’s first industry platform for contemporary art,
showcasing more than 400 artworks created by 200 Indian artists.”
