  1. 1. What is Group Cohesiveness<br />and Groupthink?<br /><ul><li>cohesive groupsmembers generally pull together and agree of major issues.</li></ul>(i.e.) the nature of the task or goals they hope to achieve. <br /><ul><li>Group cohesiveness provides the bond that holds a group together.
  2. 2. In a cohesive group all members work hard together, are satisfied with what they do, respect one another and equally invest in achieving a goal.
  3. 3. When all members enthusiastically agree and accept each other’s ideas, the group could be victim of groupthink.</li></li></ul><li>Too much cohesion tends to weaken individuality and often deprives the group of independent, critical and creative thought.<br /><ul><li>Communication within the group is much more extensive
  4. 4. The feeling of togetherness motivates members to achieve the desired goal

Positive interactions take place as a whole</li></li></ul><li>What happens when there <br />is no conflict within a group? <br /><ul><li>Individual members of a group suppress their personal ideas and attitudes in order to reach agreement and to preserve friendly, cohesive relations within a group.
