Wyvern Lingo Click
!
Wyvern Lingo are a trio from Bray who have started to make waves on the Irish scene in the last year.
Karen Cowley (keys, vocals) Saoirse Duane (guitar, vocals) and Caoimhe Barry (percussion, vocals)
have been playing together for the last 5 years. However, it was only when they finished school in 2010
that they began to start seriously pursuing a career in music as ‘Wyvern Lingo’. In the last year and half,
Caoimhe, Karen and Saoirse have released their debut EP, won the “Rising Stars” competition in the
Dublin City soul festivial (2011) and played Irish Festivals such as Knockanstockan, Electric Picnic,
Temple House, NPLD, Gateways and Ones to Watch 2012. They are quickly becoming known for
their “soulful, powerful vocals and harmonies” and have supported well known acts such as Julliet
Turner and Pugwash.
Click Ross Breen
Ross Breen released his self-produced debut album in 2011, leading quickly to a number of hugely
positive reviews. When I Met The Devil immediately received a 4.5 star write-up in Hot Press,
Ireland’s foremost music magazine, while Drop-d magazine were moved to label Breen
“the Irish music scene’s best kept secret” upon hearing the record. The album is complimented
by an accomplished video for the title track, directed by Simon O’ Neill. A graduate of the Ballyfermot
Rock School, the Kildare-born songwriter has consistently impressed on the live stage, earning
countless invitations as a special guest with the likes of Glen Hansard, Bellx1, Sinead O’ Connor,
Declan O’ Rourke, Damien Dempsey and Mundy. He has also built a following on the festival circuit,
performing with his band at various large weekend events such as Vantastival, Knockanstockan
(three years running) and the prestigious Hard Working Class Heroes.
Click The Hot Sprockets
In 2010 THE HOT SPROCKETS won the final of the King Kong Club which enabled them to de-camp to
Sierra Vista studio in the Portuguese mountains where they record their debut album “HONEY SKIPPIN’”
with BOZ BOORER (Morrisey, The Polecats) at the helm. “HONEY SKIPPIN’” is released on May 6th on
independent label Cherrypopper Records. The album kicks off with the mighty ‘Cruizin’ and from beginning
to the end, there is no let up in the charm or swagger of the Hot Sprockets. Their kind of rock’n’roll music is
haunted by the ghost of country and blues – take the good-time revolutionary spirit of MC5, simmer it down
to the sounds of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, add some rough-edged Eagles of Death Metal – wailing
harmonicas, twangy vocals, jangly slide guitars and you are somewhere near the delta rock sonic nugget
that is Hot Sprockets’ sound..The Hot Sprockets have lived up to their early promise and delivered a mighty
debut album “to be listened to in the spirit in which it was made” Currently the band are working on a follow
up album at windmill lane studios.
Blind Yackety Click
Blind Yackety are a ramshackle collection of nine musicians. Between them they play a myriad of
different instruments from the fiddle to the flute, the clarinet to the glockenspiel, guitars, pianos and
drums all guided by the inspired hand of Kevin McNamara, whose unique vision comes alive as he
weaves disparate influences to create a sound which is refreshingly original. It is a sound that captures
infinite amounts of fun and energy; but ultimately, it is a new sound, their own sound, indefinable by
genres that have gone before. After a busy year of gigs and festivals including the Electric Picnic,
Knockanstockan, No Place Like Dome and Whelans, their focus has lately turned to recording their
debut album, due to be released early 2012.. After which they plan to go on tour in Ireland, the U.K
and perhaps even further afield! Really, they’ll go wherever the wind and the music will take them.
Trap Door Click
Winners of South Dublin's Noise BOTB Trap Door went on to record their debut EP 'Triple Drop'
which was chosen Pick of the Fortnight by Jackie Hayden in Hot Press and was played
Nationwide on Irish Radio. In 2011 Trap Door then came 3rd out of 150 accepted bands in the
Final of HMV's No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith BOTB held in London. Trap Door have just released
their second EP 'Lata Town' which has secured their place in Whelans Ones To Watch Festival
2012 .Also Trap Door have been chosen by producer Michael Richards to record in Windmill Lane
(U2's Studio) over the upcoming months.

The band consists of two girls and two guys hailing from Kildare, Dublin, Wexford and Meath. Brought
together by their love of music, all four members met at Ballyfermot College of Further Education's
Contemporary Music course. Instantly the band began writing original material and gigging on the

5. Performing at KnockanStockan 2012 Click Mojo Gogo
Mojo GoGo are based in Derry City Northern Ireland and are a fully Independent band who thrive
on creating original exciting music. In February 2011, they recorded "The Rounce E.P". It was
described as "Simple, clean, packed with fantastic, thick melodies and hooks" with "hair standing
choruses". Having toured incessantly over the next few months, Mojo GoGo held themselves
up in their native Donegal to write for their next release - "Cheats, Chicks and Powders E.P" which
was recorded in July 2011. The 3-track digital download was seen as a risky venture into an edgier,
heavier sound for the band. It garnered impressive reviews with critics describing it as 'contagious',
'bloody wonderful; full, rich and demanding.' Since then, Mojo GoGo have made a remarkable name
for themselves and are are already regarded as one of the most exciting live acts in the country,
Mojo GoGo are surely the ones to watch for 2012.
Medulla Click
Medulla were brought from the New World to give a taste of what modern Brazilian rock has to offer.
And that seems to be a lot. A divine mix of pure mainstream rock, pop, rap, funk and hip-hop, Medulla
are unlike any band this country has ever witnessed. Their energy, their style, their presence and
their songs are just brimming with unadulterated talent. Fronted by two hyperactive Brazilian
gentlemen, the pair hopped and screamed around the stage backed by a tight-knit line-up of guitars,
bass and drums.
Click Louis Barabbas & The Bedlam Six
Since forming in late 2006 their music has infiltrated almost every creative niche, being adapted
into animated short films, burlesque routines, musical theatre, fringe festival revues, documentary
soundtracks, motion picture scores and even a comic strip. Over the years they have won praise
and support from the likes of Supergrass, The Mighty Boosh, Har Mar Superstar, UB40, Mark Steel,
The Hell’s Angels, BBC Radio and even the Beat Poet biographer Barry Miles – both for their furious
onstage energy and Louis’ manic lyrical gymnastics.Their infamous live shows – incorporating rock,
jazz, folk and theatre influences – have proved time and time again that the group is at home on
any line-up, even sharing the bill with such disparate acts as Motorhead, Sun Ra’s Arkestra, I Am
Kloot, Eliza Carthy, The Blockheads, Emmanuel Jal and The Buzzcocks. In the last year alone they
have toured Europe, the States and Mexico, inspiring stage invasions, dancing in the aisles and a
confused mixture of exhaustion and bonhomie wherever they go. Truly incredible, you have to see it
to believe it, if you don't come out dancing at the end it's because you have neither heart nor soul¨
Chris Hawkins, BBC Radio 6
The Indecent Cigar Emporium Click
Bold, brash synths, angularly stabbed guitars, obnoxiously danceable beats, electronic wizardry and
bass that gets spanked more than slapped... The I.C.E. are how the distant future of dance music
would have been imagined in 1984 (the year, that is - not the book).A string of incredibly well
received gigs and festival dates have already given The ICE a dedicated following across the country,
playing a pied pipe for those who feel underserved when it comes to grooves and beats on the live
scene. Debut album 'Straight to Video' confirms the arrival of a band just as comfortable canoodling
your ears in the privacy of your own home as they are providing massive public displays of aural
affection.Currently holed up in the ICE Cave, The I.C.E. are meticulously crafting the groove-laden
follow-up to Straight to Video - which they say will be leaner and meaner than its predecessor, with
an emphasis on keeping the beats pumping and the dancefloor jumping. Keep your eyes and ears
peeled for special preview shows in the coming months...
King Modo Click

and complex jazz chords. This year wills see them embark extensive national tour, following the release
of their second album set for release April 2012

vinyl, Armenian traditional music and poetry, pulsing beats and whirling trances,
ancient tales and pagan wails and pumped it into their own unique sound.

imitation of reality or your imperfect idea of it.They can be desctobed as flavored by

the sensitivity of Fiona, with the odd Bjork style quirk. We can't wait for their debut album, out soon." Shilpa Ganatra

vocals for the past few years. Now she fronts Veroa, a tour de force of musical talent, accompanied on drums by
Ruairi Conaty and on bass by Shane Byrne. As a trio Veroa are constantly developing their sound, they began

The Riptide Movement Click
The second album ‘Keep On, Keepin’ On’, from The Riptide Movement will be released on Friday April 20th.
Are you ready? In the year 2007, two local Dublin bands disbanded, joined forces and The Riptide Movement
was formed. They spent their first two years gigging together across Ireland and the UK and through plenty of
hard practice they created a finely tuned, rugged sound and a kick-ass live performance. Their hard work also
set them on a path to meeting their producer, the legendary Tony Colton
(The Doors, Rory Gallagher and Ray Charles).Their new album ‘Keep On, Keepin' On’, recorded at Grouse
Lodge, is the follow up to their hugely successful debut album. While record stores are closing and artists are
lamenting the death of CD sales, they're selling thousands. The Riptide Movement are an inspirational story
that would rouse anybody to get up and do what they want to do.

Tim George, mustachioed mandolin Mandarin and hardcore champion of the world Rob Murphy and resolute guitar
cavalier/ 'bit of rough with a heart of gold' Sean O'Reilly joined to make the band whole again. Since then, The Eskies
have brought their unique brand of contemporary country-folk (often segwaying into Poe-esque Gothic lament or sea shanty)
and swaggering stage spectacle to several venues around Dublin and beyond. The Eskies plan to release an EP in early
Summer, and with festival season fast approaching hope to fill the Summer months with an unrelenting gigging schedule.

Earthship Click
Earthship’s musical journeys have no set destination – a voyage onboard the Earthship is an experiment in
spontaneous creativity as the crew members improvise and interact onstage, both with each other and with
the audience’s reactions. In their music, you will hear echoes of the classic seventies fusion bands, such as Weather
Report and Return To Forever, the funk of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, and the restless
experimentation and exploration of Miles Davis. But above all, you will feel the need to dance, for the Earthship sets
out each time to rediscover the primal urge of music – to create a communion between audience and musicians
that allows all to express themselves in sound and movement.
Click Little xs for Eyes
A harmony laden band - made w/ equal parts boy & girl - whose music tells stories of tragic heroes & funny
valentines, taking place on empty dancefloors, long walks home & the unchanging seasons. The songwriting

of their previous projects and assembled a group of musician friends from the Dublin music scene. Little xs are

dancefloors, against a backdrop of the seemingly unchanging seasons. S.A.D. is receiving enthusiastic reviews in
The Irish Times, Hot Press, AU Magazine, State Magazine & numerous blogs.
Arrow In The Sky Click
Arrow in the Sky consists of a deuce of multi-instrumentalists, Conor McCauley and Brian Murphy. They hail from
Ireland's belly button where they have been honing their craft for a number of years in one ensemble or another.

and upstanding mini-albums; Do What Thou Wilt (2009) and Winter's Requiem (2011)They are currently hard at
work on their debut full length recording, which is sure to be epic! The sound live can be likened to other harmony
laden, song driven artists such as CSN and Simon & Garfunkel or more contemporary artists such as My Morning
Jacket, Fleet Foxes and Bowerbirds. With an arsenal of traditional instruments doing very untraditional things,
strange and boundless vocals, Arrow in the Sky have created a world and sonic imagery all of their own.
Weaving an aural tapestry of folk, blues, alt-rock into their own unique blend of Irish-Americana.

Louisiana 6 Click
The band consists of Brian Brereton - Lead Vocals, John Brereton - Guitar, Tony Brereton - Drums,
Morgan Baker - Lead Guitar, Tim Fernley - Double Bass and Doey Mooney - Harmonica; and yes
three of them are related! With a lively set that had the floor bouncing from the second song,
Louisiana 6 laid down the marker for a night of fantastic live music. With such classics as 'Rock Island Line',
Louisiana 6 are a band that entertain their crowd with both vigour and personality. Regardless of the age of
their lead singer (apparently he is 73 this April!) kudos is deservedly placed on a band that provided it's
audience with a lively and entertaining set. If I have half as much energy and charisma when I'm approaching
73, as John 'Slim' Brereton does, I will certainly be a happy man!
Crow Black Chicken Click
Crow Black Chicken have built up a loyal following along the way since their formation in 2009
playing as a Blues band. The Band has since developed their own original style. They are currently
recording their debut album which will see them develop even more on their stlye from the first EP.
Their style is a fusion of their musical pasts. With a rhythm section with unlikely roots in Jazz Blues
and Punk and Vocals/Guitar from the Blues Folk Rock tradition, this fusion creates the sound of
Crow Black Chicken. Follwing their highly sucessful Glastonbury Debut on the BBC Introducing
Stage they have been tipped as a band to watch out for in 2012. "Crow Black Chicken began life
as a blues band, and have since evolved into some kind of musical Frankenstein, fusing jazz, blues, punk, folk and rock to
create something rather special." BBC Introducing. Playing nearly 100 gigs in 2011 the band are touring to promote their upcoming album.

play of emotions, stamped into the fraternal DNA that stems from a lifetime of shared experiences. You can
clearly hear that fraternal magic at work in the songs of brothers Richie and Jamie Martin, better known as
Cry Monster Cry, whose lives have revolved around music for as long as they can remember. The last two
years have seen them writing their own songs, based on stories they have made up or heard on their travels.
Warm folk melodies meet rich, descriptive lyrics, bringing the listener to a far away place. The band has been
honing its live shows over the past few months, playing shows like Dublin’s Communion club night, Vantastival

songwriter Gareth Dunlop. They release their debut EP “The Fallen” on May 25th after two months of writing and

playing the majority of the instruments on the EP themselves.
Christof, hailing from the lowlands of Holland, was in his early life inspired by his classical singing mother
and guitar picking/singing father. Soon he was humming along to Mozart in the back of the car at the age of 5.
In October 2007, Christof was lured by the bohemian bright lights and the smoky winding cobble-stoned late
nights of Galway, in the west of Ireland. He remained in Galway for 4 years, learning all the tricks and trades
as a troubadour, starting off busking and working his way up the ladder. The lyricality of his songs and his
voice, abundant in strength and sensitivity, charmed the hearts of all who heard him busking, and he quickly
became a popular performer in venues around the city.
December 2009 saw him recording an EP with the legendary bass player Trevor Hutchinson
