Project proposal title and date:
Wrath of Kenskelis
Main area of activity:
I will be working in the medium of video games mainly focusing on graphical aspects of it and the concept of the game idea.
Rationale:
Throughout my years at college I have produced a few games before; I have learned how to use Photoshop and draw in
pixels and animate using timelines. I have learned how to make walk cycle animations and to make videos move more
smoothly and I will use these to make my game up too high grade potential. I have also learned how to make 2D objects
seem more 3D even making isometric which may come to use for this new project to make it more realistic and interesting
for the audience. My video games from the earlier projects were a 1st person thriller in which you would escape from a room
by solving puzzles, my next was an open world adventure game and I enjoyed these but I want to expand these and create
something grander. Many skills I have learned previously will come to help with this task such as illustrators, 3D design and
environmental realism however I need to learn new skills so I am going to go on YouTube and look up new tutorials as well
as getting help from other sources which I will use to find out many new methods, tools and software all of which are useful
in some way for this project or future ones. I chose to do a video game because I really like the idea of it and think that with
my first one’s I got a good grade but I believe that I can expand that idea even more. During my projects, earlier on this year
I have done illustrations as part of my work and I really would like this aspect in my project. I read and play many fantasy
games which inspired me too choose this idea, my factual project I made links with this using mythical creatures.
Project Concept:
My project concept for my video game is its going to be a fantasy genre opens world area focusing mainly on story and
quests to do around the world which I will be creating for my video game; it is going to be set with some futuristic aspects
towards it in the year of 2020. The game will be for all platforms and will mostly experience bright and colourful scenes and
this is because it appeals more to an audience spectrum. Some games it will be similar too are Baldur’s gate and legend of
Zelda in particular aspects. I have chosen these because from my audience research I found these were the best ideas
that people who play video games generally like or prefer. I really want to engage the audience and interest them and I
believe my idea will do this. The character will spawn in and immediately will be engaged in an intricate story and then once
done will be able to free-roam on the map and explore doing other interactive options. On top of this idea to show planning
for the game as professional gaming companies do I would like to focus some of my time into making concept arts and this
is because it interests me and is one of my passions.
The research I will conduct will start with looking at existing products, the existing products are generally useful to see what
ideas are great and I can take similar aspects or inspiration from certain games. As well as these I also want to do a survey
on survey monkey and post out my project concept on gaming forums and these will help me to decide on certain parts of
my game due to the audience choosing what they prefer more. Once this is done I shall then do detailed individual
interviews and I will do probably around 5 of these, this is because the interview questions required much more detail so I
can really understand and form my idea up from these. The final part off my research is production experiments, the
experiments will allow me to develop certain skills and practice for my final product so I can get it right in the end.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed?
For evaluating I plan to write about the processes I went through after every day of production when I come to producing it,
I will also write about how I think it’s viewed and any strengths and weaknesses/improvements that I would make to get the
best grade possible. Another way of evaluating will be my progress diary which I write at the end of every week about
everything I have done and learned in detail and include images as well to reference my work throughout the week. The
final part of a project is evaluating on an actual PowerPoint, I will self-evaluate the whole project in great detail as well as
allowing some feedback from different viewers just to get my game to peak condition, this feedback will be from the same
medium as my project. This will help me to improve and make things better when I move on to making another project in
the future which I plan on doing also it helps with creative writing and judging allowing all future projects to be improved.
Evaluations are really important and finish/close off a project which is why I will really focus on this and not lose interes t
towards the end.
