3. What audience feedback did you undertake?
• I used three types of audience feedback, they were; questionnaires, a
pole on my blog, and a focus group which consisted of people who are part
of my target audience and who aren’t. The reasons why I decided to use
range of research so I can talk about how different ways of research can
affect my overall product. For example I used the poles as they are easy
to access, also many people have access to my poll meaning that I can
get a lot of feedback.
• I also had a focus group, the group consisted of people from my year, and
they watched the trailer when it wasn’t finished. This focus group was
extremely useful to me and my group as we new what pieces had to be
added to the trailer, and some pieces that needed to be removed to fit
the criteria time of between a minute and a minute thirty. After we
edited the trailer and acted on the audiences feedback we then got a
much more positive response and the audience were happy that there
ideas were noted and acted upon.
4. Why did you undertake this type of feedback?
• I decided to undertake this type off
feedback as I’ve used these types of
feedback before, and I was confident that
this feedback will be both useful and easy
for me to collect and display on my blog.
Also by having a variety types of feedback
it shows that I can use different
technology as well as different techniques.
5. How did you ensure you asked a range of people?
• By using the pole on my blog, I would of got a variety of answers. Because my blog is open to anyone people who are part of
my target audience and the general public were able to answer the questions that were on my blog. This was good as I was able
to get feedback from people with a proffered film choice.
• I also asked my media class to have a look at our trailer before it was finished, we had a lot of feedback from the group,
containing both positives and negatives
6. What did you learn?
• After undertaking three types of research I have discovered a lot
more about my target audiences and have had reviews on some of
the articles that were on my blog. I have also learnt that by using
a variety of research techniques I’ve achieved the most amount of
research and it has been from a variety of sources and people who
aren’t apart of my target audience have also answered the
research, which is good as I have got information from the general
public.
• I think that my most successful technique that I used was the
focus group and the poles, I believe these were more successful
over the questionnaires as I didn’t choose who answered them,
meaning that I had anonymous answers. This was good as I wanted
people who I didn’t know to also answer some of the questions that
I put forward. I also learnt how to do the focus group meaning
that I’m comfortable in doing others in the future if needed be.
7. How did you respond to these findings?
• Our grouped decided to show our trailer of before its been finished to see if was good
or if it needed any subtle tweaks to it. Overall the feedback that we got was positive
and our unfinished trailer received high praise, however the overall senses was that
something was missing, some sort of climax. After that we decided to film a potential
ending, which took two days in total after the editing process had finished. We then
showed our trailer, to literally the same audience, and our new section (the climax),
received very good feedback, and ‘completed our trailer’.
