Cooking methods atop a stove is probably the most convenient and versatile way of preparing the
widest variety of dishes from appetizers all the way to desserts. Though microwave cooking heats
food very fast, cooking complete meals using this relatively appliance has not very caught on despite
new models being marketed that can bake, grill and brown foods which was not possible in the first
models of microwave ovens. Some health food advocates including those into raw food voice out
concerns about potentially harmful effects of cooking in a microwave though this isn’t widely known
by most users.

Having a kitchen stove, whether gas-fired or electric, one- or multiple-burner with many additional
features like a built in grill, heat pad, etc. can be the key to preparing the most delectable meals for
your family and friends. Everything else can be viewed as a bonus. Even if one has a blender, food
processor and other cool gadgets that help make prepare ingredients, without a means to cook
them, all efforts will go to waste.

Invest in good stove top cooking vessels that suit your favorite cooking methods. A sturdy frying
pan and a pot should be a staple in your kitchen. Oriental cooking makes good use of a wok.
Though non-stick seems a heaven sent for the novice cook, ensure that you get good quality
cookware as some cheap versions wear and tear very quickly. Do not use metal implements and
cleaning pads as this tends to scratch the surface and contaminate the food.

Induction stove tops use electromagnetic technology in heating food in a metal vessel. Do note that
not all pots and pans will work on an induction stove. An advantage of induction is very instant heat
generation which cooks food a lot faster requiring frequent checking dishes being prepared.

Many modern kitchen cooking devices are making the waves in the market being sold in department
and appliance stores; hardware stores complete with employees with a lapel microphone
demonstrating and declaiming the convenience of their product; and even on home television
shopping endorsed by celebrities and chefs. Though these are marketed to highlight the multiple
functions of the item, one has to be careful and discern if it will suit his or her kitchen requirements.
