Indian Himalayan Adventures (IHA) – Trek to Dayara Bugyal (2010) 1
About Garhwal Himalayas, Uttarakhand:
Garhwal is situated in the middle of Himalayas, with Himachal Pradesh in the West and North – West, Tibet in
the North, the plains of western Uttar Pradesh in the South and Kumaon in the East Garhwal and Kumaon have
some of the finest peaks of the Himalayas. Geographically, Tons River separates Garhwal from the Himachal
Pradesh in the west, and district boundaries of Kumaon in the east. Starting from the foothills from the south, the
region extends upto snow clad peaks, making the Indo Tibetan boundary. The lure of Garhwal Himalayas is
irresistible for the mountaineer, as it nestles some of the most challenging peaks e.g. Nanda Devi, Trishul,
Shivling, Bhagirathi, Kamet, Neelkanth, Dunagiri, & Banderpoonch etc.
About the tour:
The trek to Dayara Bugyal, in the district of Uttarkashi, is among the best of post monsoon treks and takes one
through the jungles to a huge, heavenly high altitude meadow with breathtaking panoramas. Dayara Top offers
magnificent close ups of peaks like Banderpoonch, Draupadi, Gangotri I, II & III, Kalang, Srikantha etc. Situated
at around 4000 m height and spread over an area of 28 sq km, Dayara Bugyal, during winter, provides excellent &
one of the best ski slopes in India.

Geographically, Tons River separates Garhwal from the Himachal Pradesh in the west, and district boundaries of Kumaon in the east. Starting from the foothills from the south, the region extends upto snow clad peaks, making the Indo Tibetan boundary. The lure of Garhwal Himalayas is irresistible for the mountaineer, as it nestles some of the most challenging peaks e.g. Nanda Devi, Trishul, Shivling, Bhagirathi, Kamet, Neelkanth, Dunagiri, & Banderpoonch etc. About the tour: The trek to Dayara Bugyal, in the district of Uttarkashi, is among the best of post monsoon treks and takes one through the jungles to a huge, heavenly high altitude meadow with breathtaking panoramas. Dayara Top offers magnificent close ups of peaks like Banderpoonch, Draupadi, Gangotri I, II & III, Kalang, Srikantha etc. Situated at around 4000 m height and spread over an area of 28 sq km, Dayara Bugyal, during winter, provides excellent & one of the best ski slopes in India.
