This document describes a study to improve the design of leaf springs used in vehicle suspension systems. Three leaf spring models are analyzed: a standard elliptical design (Model 1), one with a variable radius of curvature (Model 2), and one with a U-shaped bend in the center (Model 3). The models are designed in CATIA and analyzed in ANSYS to determine deformation, strain energy, natural frequencies and mode shapes under a 500N load. Model 3 has the highest deformation of 66.66mm and strain energy of 21.246mJ, indicating it provides the best riding comfort.
